It was a big tree and it was a lot of work to do. I would use them again.

Shadywood Tree Experts really helped me out in a pinch. While selling my home four days before our open house a storm knocked out a large portion of a tree in my backyard. Most companies including Shadywood were extremely busy from the storm. However after I explained my time crunch they were able to squeeze me into their schedule. The same day I met with the Arborist Steve, whom has a fantastic beard btw , and he laid out my options. With my pending open house I opted to have the fallen part removed and get an estimate to remove the rest afterwards. The very next day they came out and removed the chaos in my backyard in about an hour. I was very impressed with Mike and his crew especially their work ethic on their last job of the day during one of hottest days of the year. I've used Shadywood in the past and I will continue to use them on my new house for years to come.

This is the second time I have used Shadywood to cut trees. Keith and Brian are very professional and their cost is reasonable. Their tree cutting crew were friendly and cleaned up well after their work was done. Keith would promptly let me know if the work needs to be delayed due to reasons out of their control, ie: weather or wet soil. Brian went above and beyond as he resolved a dispute with my neighbor. I had them cut my neighbor’s tree which most of its parts leaning past the property line. This tree would likely fall on my house in the the event of a storm (Last year one of his trees fell into my house, and almost injured my children who were in the living room). He disapproved of my cutting the parts of his tree that were past the property line, even though I have the right to do so to prevent future accident. When my neighbor demanded me to cut and pay for the remaining tree trunk on his property, Brian gracefully stepped in and cut this tree trunk free of charge. I am very satisfied with their service and already recommended them to others. I will definitely use their service again in the future.

It wen't very well. I got a few other estimates on price and no one came close to there price. All were much higher. They used a huge crane to lift out piece at a time of tree. Crane was located in my front yard and pieces were lifted out of backyard and lowered to street. It was amazing to watch. They had a large crew onsite. Every member had a role and new exactly how to perform there task. I was most impressed by there attention to detail and safety. The entire process was finished in about 2.5 hours. But as I said earlier about safety they spent a lot of time making sure crane was properly balanced and in a optimal location. They thought about placing it in my driveway but crane operator was concerned about being to close to my foundation. My yard was left as it was before they arrived. They did a wonderful job of cleaning up. These people are truly professionals. They are going to be grinding out the stump and treating a ash tree for EAB too and I know that will go well. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I had asked for an estimate for tree trimming etc., and it also included removing 4 juniper bushes. Steve suggested that I might want to find someone else to take care of the junipers because their price would reflect using an arborist certified person and that it would be costly. In hind sight, I wish he would have included the estimate and let me decide on whether I wanted to go forward or not. All others gave me an estimate with the juniper removal included. It became a pain to try to find someone to do this small amount of separate work and I wasn't having any luck. Waste of my time. One of the bids I had was a very good price but I liked Steve so I called and asked if he would consider meeting the other price. He told me to "go for it" if it was cheaper but to check to make sure they were licensed since this is how some people cut corners. I told Steve I'd check and if they weren't licensed I'd probably call him back. I was a little put off by the total lack of interest in my business. I merely asked, as most people would, if they would be willing to meet the price. He could have just said he had to stand by his offer. Again, it seems that the customer doesn't make the decision. With strong Angie's List ratings, it doesn't appear that they need any new business. I checked for licensing on the other bid and it turned out they did not have it. I was very ill for a week but I left a message for Steve on the morning of 4/28 to ask for the juniper removal along with the rest of the bid. Didn't hear back. Called 4/29 at around 2:30 and a woman answered the phone. I told her who I was and that I had left a message for Steve the day before and then I heard a click...disconnected. I assumed that she inadvertently cut off the call so I called back again and the same woman answered so I told her I had just called but had gotten disconnected. There was a pause...nothing said...and then a click again! I'm sure they have caller i.d. so if it was a mistake, I would think she'd call me back. Hanging up on someone? Can't get more insulting than that. I tried the phone number that Steve had called me from (from my caller i.d.) and left him a message about the phone hang ups and to tell him I finally had someone who was driving around the neighborhood take out the junipers. It's now May 2nd. Unless I want a third hang up, I obviously can't call their office number. I haven't had my calls returned and the treatment has been both rude and unfair. This company doesn't seem to care.

We have used Shadywood before and they provided the same level of great service. An arborist came out and did an estimate, we accepted the estimate and within a week the trimming was complete. I was not able to be home during the trimming but the trees looked great and the yard was cleaned-up perfectly.

Honestly, I could not ask for better service. Keith was fantastic on the response time with my questions and keeping me looped in. I was traveling for work when this took place and it was like no one was even there it was so clean and well executed. The stump removal took a week or so after the tree removal and when I came home, it looked perfect. I would and plan to hire Keith and crew again. Very nice job!!

The trimming crew arrived and had a good job briefing of what was to be done and who would be doing what. They used all their safety gear and worked well together as a team. They had correct and adequate equipment. They did the job promptly but not in a hurried manner. I was impressed. They cleaned up well after themselves and the finished work looked real good. I am very happy with the service and the results. The cost was very reasonable.

I was really pleased with the service and quality of work. I called Shadywood Tree Experts and set up an appt to get an estimate. Appt was set up for about a week out. Someone came out to walk in my yard with me and discuss what work I wanted to have done. He made suggestions on what made the most sense due to timing and the types of trees and bushes. I received a written estimate from him and signed my agreement for work to be performed. I received a phone message the day ahead that they planned to be out the next day, weather permitting. They had a cherry picker, a couple of men climbing trees, a couple of men on the ground, and a wood chipper on site for the branches. I was impressed with the system the team had in place to ensure that everything was picked up afterwards. This is my second time to use Shadywood Tree Experts. I loved how beautiful and healthy-looking my trees were after pruning the first time. I am looking forward to seeing my trees this summer! Shadywood Tree Experts do great work!

Good price - Great guys very professional ... would use and recommend them to people I know

We have used Shadywood multiple times for large tree trimming & tree removal. They have always done a very good work at a fair price. The only issue we have had with them was short notices on scheduling, but that has not been a big issue to overcome. We will continue to use these guys in the future.

They never called me back. I called them today, Monday morning at 8:30am, left a message into the recording that said "our office hours are Monday through Saturday from 8am to 5pm". So far they have not returned my phone call.

The company was very prompt in coming to cut down the tree from under the power lines. The tree was cut down within a few weeks of the estimate and approval. The clean-up crew left our yard looking immaculate and all of this was done in about 30 minutes. There was some miscommunication about the stump grinding part of the project which took a few phone calls to get straightened out before that part of the project could happen. This occured even though the stump grinding was listed on the project sheet when the crew came out to cut down the tree. The stump grinding itself also went well with adequate clean up. This company did not ask for money ahead of time.

My experience with Shadywood was a pleasure. It started out with a consult on the property and I got an expert arborist in trees, shrubs and bushes. He knew exactly what I wanted and explained the type of each bush/shrub and if they would come back or not, How much to take of each one and gave me recommendations on what I should be doing to help them along. They gave me a fair price and then, best of all.....they camein with a crew and got the job done...quickly. This team didnt mess around, they camein and got it done. I inspected the work...pointed out a few quick needs (which the team lead courteously did) and then kicked into the clean up...great professionalism. The team had the work area cleaned up...no debris left at all. Even the neighboors were impressed on the speed and cleanliness. I will definitely be calling on this team again...for some rental trees that need some help. Great job!!!

Everything turned out great. They did a really good job.

This was removal of a 60' cottonwood tree with little room to work and the use of a crane. The work was scheduled quickly, the crew arrived on time, and they finished the job within a couple hours. The crew left everything clean and there was no damage to our yard, our neighbor's yard, or any of the existing trees under the big cottonwood. This seemed like a very professional company and I would highly recommend them.

They were good. They did a good job. They were fast. They did a good clean-up. The price was fine.

The owner came by to look at the trees and went over the plan for the triming. Everything completed as expected. The workers came on time and did a good job. I would use them again for sure.

Terrible. The tree was beautiful and big and full. We wanted it trimmed to keep it healthy. Unfortunately, they cut off 4 huge branches from the trunk. That is not trimming. They did not mark the branches that were being cut off so I was shocked by the result. They did not "trim" the tree, they disfigured it. The owner was so rude and unprofessional. Their work resulted in a beautiful, big, old tree being butchered. Our shade is gone and the tree is no longer beautiful. I don't remember exact dates nor the exact amount we paid, but when I was looking on Angie's list today for other services, and noticed that this company had an A rating, I had to send this review. It makes me a little nervous about other A ratings??

Everything went very well: The workers arrived on time, they were very professional and courteous, they finished the work in the time expected and cleaned up the job to my expectations.

I called to schedule an estimate and was pleased that someone actually answered the phone. This business has a dedicated receptionist which was a big bonus for me. At the time I was scheduling estimates for many projects and almost always got voicemail resulting in a game of phone tag and delays. It was only about 3 days before Steve came out to do the estimate. Steve was extremely knowledgeable and personable. There were a few small trees that he recommended be cut down rather than trim them because it was much more cost effective. I felt that the price was very reasonable for all of the trimming and hauling away of the debris. They were booking out about 2 weeks because they were prioritizing storm damage projects. That was alright for my circumstances and once I made the decision they came to do the job about 10 days later. Jim and Rubin were very professional and did an excellent job. When they were finished, Rubin had me inspect what they had done to make sure I was happy with the work. They cleaned up so well it was hard to tell they were even here. I was very impressed with my service with this company from the very first phone call. Something to note is that they have a service minimum of $220. I referred them to my neighbor and she had tree trimming done as well and was very pleased. I highly recommend Shadywood Tree Experts and would hire them in the future if I had a project that exceeded their minimum.

I would recommend this service to anyone needing a tree service in the Twin Cities. The owner and his crew did an excellent job on removing numerous dead branches and a couple of tree from our yard! They were friendly and willing to go beyond what the estimate called for and not charging an additional fee! The couple next door asked if they would remove a branch from a tree in their yard and Shady Wood did it without question. The clean up was great with NO branches left in the yard. The equipment used was first rate and all safety concerns were taken care of which provide a safe work area for all the workers. Thanks to Shady Wood for their excellent service.

They're horrible. They did not do anything to protect my landscaping. They destroyed my rose bushes and my flower beds. It was horrible. They did nothing. I told them what happened. Their price was pretty competitive. The tree looks better. They showed up on time.

Everything went extremely well from the first meeting with the estimator to having the work done. The estimator arrived on time as scheduled and spent about an hour with us explaining our options and helping us decide what to do. He took his time and wasn't at all pushy with his service. When it was time to do the work, the crew arrived on time as scheduled. They were highly professional and friendly, went right about the job, finished on time, and cleaned up afterwards. This was our second job with Shadywood and we would definitely use them again.

Estimator was prompt and very knowledgable. Will probably go with this company. Will know more when I receive the estimate.
