I think they are very good because they are very neat and clean. They do all the chipping. The crew did very good of cleaning up their mess. They made sure they didn't mess up our lawn at all. They are prompt they follow through. They do free estimates. Their price is competitive.

I called for an estimate and the person I spoke with was efficient and friendly. She told me I could be present for the estimate and I chose not to be. She then stated the estimate would be left in my mailbox for me to review. The estimate was performed the very next day and stated on the form that the work could be done prior to the weekend (it was Wed when the estimate was written). They listed their Angie's List discount and the price seemed OK and more important to me since the limb was dangling around wires to my home, it could be removed quickly. Another company that I contacted is only in my neighborhood twice a week for estimates so Shadywood was able to remove the limb the same day the other estimate came in. The estimates were within a few dollars of each other.

Shadywood returned my call promptly. Brian Curtis came to the house and examined the work site. Mr. Curtis suggested additional work beyond what I requested that, he said would improve the health of other trees on my property. I agreed to the proposal and the work was completed within one week. The tree that was removed altogether was in an awkward location. The crew removed it carefully and professionally. The trees to be trimmed look healthy and airy. The only disappointment for me was the street clean-up adjacent to the tree that was removed. There were quite a few wood chips remaining when the crew departed. The yard where trees were trimmed, however, was left in very good condition.

I don't know if there are less expensive companies that do as good a job, hence the B on Cost. But they are SO good, we only ever call them if we have a tree issue. They were a bit behind this time because a HUGE storm blew through between the time I set up the appt. and when they actually came. Totally understandable. They do great work, always have, and they clean up wonderfully after themselves. We wouldn't call anyone else. We've had them out a number of times over the years for downed trees or serious pruning. They know their stuff.

Very professional. Once they were done I couldn't find any evidence of their being there, aside from the right branches being removed. I will use them again next time.

Gave an estimate, accepted my approval over the phone and did the work the next day. They did a good job, only trimmed what was needed and cleaned up perfectly upon completion.

They are a phenomenal company. People need to know about how great these guys are. Carpenter ants had gotten to a huge tree we had, so they came and took out the tree; we thought it would be difficult but they were so great. They are so skilled in their work, they cleaned up so well you wouldn't have known they were here, it was unbelievable! Keith is a darling, he wasn't trying to sell me anything, I felt like his price was very reasonable, and he pruned everything beautifully. My husband was thrilled.

One day after I called an aborist came out to look at the tree and gave us an estimate on having it removed. I called the next day to schedule. The tree was removed three days after the initial contact and the stump was gone by the next week. They were very prompt and through.

My yard is quite wooded and wild. After a summer storm, I noticed a tree had snapped near the top. The broken part was hanging down but still attached. I called Shadywood and an estimator came out within a few days. I also asked him to address a mess we had going on with some small volunteer trees growing up and through a pine that I wanted to keep, and another young tree that was tangled up in some electrical wires. The estimator flagged the trees to be removed and made some recommendations. The workers came out within 10 days, removed the trees and cleaned up after themselves.

It went very well. I am very pleased. They were the lowest estimate price by far, they were easy to reach, they gave me really good direction about when they would be available. They were able to get my tree down a lot sooner than they expected. I also asked them if they could leave me some of the wood chips and they left me a big pile for free.

This is the second time I have used them. They do very good work. They gave me an estimate, which was right on. They came when they said they would and did what they said they would. They were professional, polite, and they cleaned up after themselves.

Well done. No particular issue. Keith Curtis is professional, courteous, and prompt. The price is competitive.

No work was performed, so I can't judge on this, only that I worried about their reliability.

They are very qualified and very good. No mistakes made.

I appreciated that Keith took the time to give me information about all the trees on our property even though we only hired them to trim one tree. He was on time, and returned calls in a timely fashion. The work was performed when we were out of town and there was no damage to the nearby structures (deck and house). I will call them again when it is time to address some of the other trees on our property.

Shadywood did a great job! They let us know when they would arrive, arrived on time, removed the offending trunk without damaging the good one, and cleaned up all the mess.

They responded well when I had them come and chop up a log into firewood that they had forgotten to do.

The work was done in an excellent manner. I'm very happy and satisfied with this company and would definitely use them again.

Answered phone during a busy time of year (a challenge for others I called); Showed up on time for quote/walk through. Was a little unclear on when they would actually do the work, but showed up a couple of days post quote, did a fine job.

Shadywood came out on a very cold winter day to remove a 50 year old diseased ash tree from the back yard. They arrived exactly when they said and were finished when they said. They used a crane to go over our two-story house and cut limbs off the tree and then brought those limbs back over the house. The limbs were put through a wood chipper in the street to grind up the tree. When only the trunk was left to be taken down, they were very precise in cutting the tree trunk and bringing it down away from the house. Because it was winter and the ground was frozen they told us they would call us in the spring to set up a time to grind the stump. The stump was ground last week. It was very interesting to watch the entire process when the tree was cut down. We had one other bid which was more than double the price of Shadywood's bid. When they were finished everything was cleaned up very well. I would highly recommend using Shadywood for tree service.

They were prompt, professional, and did what they said they would do.

They did a beautiful job. They showed up exactly when they said they would and worked very hard in spite of very cold weather. There was minimal damage to the ground and no damage to my neighbors' trees and my other trees and shrubs that I wanted to save. They were extremely conscientious to do a good job and avoid damage and they cleaned up all the loose twigs and debris. The cost ($4500) ain't chickenfeed but I feel it is quite reasonable in view of the amount of work required and the quality of the work done. I am extremely pleased and highly recommend Shadywood Tree Experts.

Brian Curtis did a great job estimating the work. We discussed trimming methods and were assured that the trees would be hand trimmed with hand or chain saws and there would be no ATV's or such driven into our backyard, however the night before they were to do the work he called us to say that they would be using a bucket crane machine to do the job. We expressed our concern about damage to plants etc, but would reserve judgment until we saw the contraption. Well the machine was too wide for the space and our lot slopes so they chose not to use it (to our relief). We discussed the trimmings and the crew agreed to cut the limbs down to a certain size to make it easier for us to move around to cut our own firewood. When they left my husband went out back to find that they had left several large limbs uncut and almost too big for us to handle. They usually haul all the debris away so we thought it was a good compromise to have them cut the larger limbs but just leave them.

Very well. They were punctual and came out to give me a bid with in a couple of days. Very personable guys. The bid was competitive with the other bid we got. Ultimately it was a toss of a coin. I would call them again and am confident that they would have done a great job.

This job went better than I could have imagined from start to finish. I was already talking to another landscape company when the tree removal division of Shadywood recommended I talk to Charlie. In the time it took the other landscape company to come up with a plan, Charlie had already talked us through three options, located beautiful, healthy trees and even took photos of them. One of my favorite things about Charlie is that before ending a conversation, he would always say when he would call again, and he would. Charlie is passionate about his work and able to describe his vision clearly. We had him come out a few times to go over the plan again and he did so, cheerfully, in the cold and the dark. Shadywood planted our trees quickly before winter set in and took care to protect our property. They left the street and our yard cleaner than they found it. The team was a pleasure to work with and we hope to work with them again on landscaping projects.
