I probably wouldn't call again. There seem to be several companies that can do the work.

I had used Shadywood last year for some pruning after getting several estimates and finding that they were several hundred dollars cheaper. They always respond promptly, come out to the house and look over the work to be done, give a thoughtful and accurate estimate, answer any questions, and then come back out soon thereafter to do the work. I have been pleased with the work they did last year and this year. They also treated my ash tree for preventive ash bore; I have not followed up on that and may do it myself next year just because I don't like the tree $200 a year's worth of maintenance. I would definitely recommend Shadywood.

I never met Brian. He called me with the written estimate he gave. The price was excellent as is their reputation with Angie's List. I hired him over the phone. they came when they said they would. The stump grinding is done by another company, but the result was seamless to me. Just 2 different days and 2 bills totaling the amount above. Brian did give me some good options that I took. great experience. I have additional trees in the yard. Shadywood will be my first call when tree service is needed.

Great - they were available quickly, and showed up earlier than expected. The early arrival turned out to be because someone else had canceled, then halfway through they were called to that job anyway. They told me they would be back shortly and indeed they were. They were careful to prevent the maple branches from falling into my pool, and were fast and neat about cleanup. A thunderstorm came in as they were finishing so I was a bit concerned, but then I spotted the crew leader actually skimming stray leaves out of my pool in the rain, so I knew they were doing a thorough cleanup. The Ash tree treatment was done on a second visit. Crew arrived while I was on a conference call so I handed them the check and left them to it. Done promptly, closed the gate so my dog stayed in, and left the proper little sign on the front lawn and a packet of information for me. Easy peasy.

Spoke with Brian re trimming a tree that had a LOT of dead wood and needed major trimming. He was out the next day to give me an estimate along with a discussion about the health of the tree. He advised me that it had many good years left and we set up a time for the crew to come out. They did a FABULOUS job!! I really thought the tree was something of an eyesore but now view it as an assett to our yard and lovely. Thanks Brian and crew!!!!

Great! I contacted them after finding them on Angie's. I received a prompt call back and an estimate. Timing for work to be done was arranged. On the arranged day of work, a crew of 3 arrived on time and we did a quick walk through of the work to be done. The work was started promptly. All the work was done efficiently and in a timely manner. The cleanup was great. Before they left, we did another walk through. I was very happy with the work.

Two different services. One was grinding a stump on a tree that I took out at their suggestion. They could have charged me a lot of money to treat the tree, but were very honest about it and recommended removing it. The second was to inject an ash tree with a preventative for the emerald ash borer.

Very good work. The men arrived as scheduled to remove the tree from our front yard. They took the tree down and did an excellent job cleaning up the area.

The company representative initially responded to my request for examining the trees and telling me what was needed for their continued health. He answered any questions that I had. A reasonable estimate was sent, so I decided to hire them. It didn't take long for a date of completion to be arranged. The workers appeared to know what they were doing and completed the fertilization in short order. Shadywood is a company that has served my area for 42 years and is bonded, licensed and insured. The price to work with them was half of what I had been paying in previous years. I plan to use their services again.

Great work and would definitely hire again! A crew of 4 arrived, trimmed the two locust trees that were significantly overhanging the house. The lead tree trimmer was attentive to our request to remove growth away from the house and roof while maintaining a natural and attractive shape to the trees. He pointed out branches that were overlaying each other and needed to be removed for the health of the tree. The entire crew worked quickly and steadily, checking with me throughout the work to make sure the branch removal was as I wanted. Very thorough and efficient clean up. The entire crew was friendly and professional. A foreman arrived at our home near the end of the work to make sure all was satisfactory. Would give them a high recommendation!

A 3-man crew showed up near the scheduled time with a truck and chipper. They did the work as agreed to on the estimate quickly and safely. Then the foreman asked me if this was satisfactory. I requested that one more branch near the power line be removed which they did quickly. They picked up all branches and left the yard clean. The branches were run through the chipper. The bill included a 5% senior discount.

We had a large ash tree damaged during a wind storm late on a Friday night. Called Shadywood the following Saturday morning to leave them a message to call me back when they got into the office on Monday. They ended up calling me back within a couple hours and came over a little after that to assess the damage and provide a quote to repair our tree & remove the damaged section. They were able to come by the Monday @ 11:30am to do the work. Truly an amazing response time! We have used them 3 times now to remove trees or perform major trimming work and every experience has been outstanding. Additionally, their rates have always been so competitive that we have quit calling other companies for quotes as we know we will get a great value & exceptional service from Shadywood.

Shadywood quickly responded to my online request for an estimate for tree trimming for four trees in my yard. I was happy with the estimate and information they provided to me about my trees, when to trim and when not to, so I decided to move forward with the service. The trees were promptly trimmed within a week of asking for the estimate. I am currently working with them on having some brush removed from some areas of my yard and will again have them trim the remaining trees in the fall (that could not be trimmed in the late spring) .

Yesterday, a large tree in the yard broke in half and half of the tree fell, covering the driveway. I called Shadywood, and within a couple of hours John was here to estimate the work. At the same time, he removed enough branches from the part that had fallen to clear a path through the driveway to the garage. This morning, a crew was here with a crane to remove the part that fell and take out the half of the tree that was still standing. They raked the yard for debris afterward and cleaned up the twigs, branches and sawdust in the driveway and on the street. I am very grateful for the speedy response and good work. With the weather so hot and humid, I'm also glad that I don't have to worry about the compromised part of the tree that was still standing blowing over in a thunder storm. Also, I really appreciate John clearing a path in the driveway yesterday.

This last weekend I used their online request form to ask for an estimate. On the following Monday I received a call that they could have someone here for the estimate on Tuesday. Tuesday morning Kieth called and said he was on his way and a few minutes later he showed up. We walked around the house and I showed him the trees I wanted trimmed. He explained what each tree needed done and what options I had. He wrote up the estimate with each of my concerns addressed and that they could have someone out here on Thursday. Thursday a very friendly gentleman rings the bell and with a big smile says "Hi, were here to trim your trees". A few hours later they were done. They hauled away all the branches and even raked the lawn where the branches had fallen. And our trees look Great. Ok, first there was the fast return call on my request for an estimate I give them an A+ second, the quick response time for someone to give me an estimate again A+ third, how easy it was to talk to and understand the guy giving the estimate A+ fourth, how quickly they could do the job A+ fifth, how friendly and professional the work crew was A+ I will definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

They are very prompt. They were the first to come when I was having problems with a tree.

They were extremely prompt and professional. Took the time to understand my needs and goals and performed the work beautifully. Importantly, they worked very carefully and did not damage the prairie/grass that surrounded the worksite.

The work itself was performed professionally and in a timely manner. I have successfully engaged this company several times without issue of any kind. I have always found the employees, from the front office to the workers who raked and swept debris after completion of a job without exception to be pleasant and thorough in their work. However, on this occasion the attitude of the owner, who estimated the job and followed up the work with a phone call, lacked professionalism. Initially, he was brusque and hurried in the estimate, and but then when I questioned a minor issue with the billing, after the work had been completed, he became confrontive and unpleasant. His behavior was unacceptable. It is a local company and although lI prefer to patronize local businesses, this will probably become one of the exceptions.

They took down the tree and it was very exciting to watch, even my neighbors came out to watch. They picked up all the debris and cleaned up when they were done. They were very courteous and professional. The whole job took about 3 and a half hours.

Overall it was great - no complaints. They explained everything on the phone, giving us all of the options, the pros and cons and we found them to be quite helpful and honest.

It looks amazing! They are really excellent tree trimming experts. They look so much nicer! They brought in a big crane which allowed them to go over the garage and lift the Basswood trees. There were no accidents and everything went smoothly

The work was done while I was out. The quality of the work done was excellent. The clean up was superb. I hardly knew they were there. I highly recommend their work. I will use them again.

Brian came to our home to give us an estimate on pruning two very large trees in our yard, give us information on a maple that is not doing very well,taking down a dead spruce, and our Crabapple tree that has falling leaves. He was very prompt at returning our call, and coming out for the estimate. He spent lots of time going around our yard explaining each tree, and exactly what it needed. He gave us a detailed written estimate on the spot, and we told him we would look it over and get back to him. We did just that, as his estimate was very easy to understand. He answers calls very promptly, and sets up service right away. We had him treat and fertilize our large Ash and Maple trees, within a few days. A very detailed explanation of the procedure, and watering instructions was given to us by Dave. Within a week of the estimate a wonderful, professional crew came to our home, exactly on time to trim our Ash and Maple trees.They also took down the dead spruce. The crew worked safely, quickly, and left our yard and street, spotless. Brian was accessible by phone when my husband had a question. They will be returning in the spring to treat our Crabapple for the apple scab. They sent the right equipment, and enough crew to do the job well.
