It was great from start to finish. The whole crew was professional, personable, and prompt. In addition, the windows turned out awesome and they cleaned up after themselves very well. I would highly recommend Scherer.

installation team arrived on time. They covered the carpeting and hardwood floors and went to work. They were very clean, thorough and paid attention to details. They did a great job of cleaning up. They walked me through the new window and how it worked , it took about 3 hours.

Scherer did an outstanding job. The Sales rep was extremely detailed and precise. The installation team was efficient and professional. All commitments were met on time. The cleanup was complete. The team lead answered all of my questions and kept me up to date on progress. The job was completed in 2 days. They made sure that everything was sealed up before the team left on day 1. From sales to delivery to installation, these folks know what they are doing, including the small details. For example, a pin was missing on one of the screens. The team lead apologized and told me I would receive one in the mail. I was contacted by someone in Scherer's office the next business day and the pin with some extras showed up in the mail at the promised time. I am very impressed with this company and will use them again when the rest of the windows in the house need replacing. Finally, the installation team minimized the inconvenience that I expected from a project of this size. And, the new windows look great.

The crew (John and Luke) could not have been more wonderful! We encountered several problems -- electrical that needed to be removed and plumbing that needed to move -- with the main window install. They coached me through what needed to happen and carefully sealed the open window space to allow the plumber to move a pipe. They came back as planned to finish the install and again coached me through inspection issues, trim finishing and plaster work needed. I was very happy with the experience, even though many things went wrong, and I love my new windows.

They did an excellent job. We thought we're going to have additional windows to be replaced and our window person said "No, you don't need to have them replaced. You just need to do something else to the window." He saved us a buckload of money because we thought we're going to have to replace about three more windows but we didn't have to. We just got it repaired. We're very happy with that result.

These guys are very professional. They arrived on time everyday. Went about their task each day. Completed and coordinated the job excellently. We were 100% pleased with the big job.

The quote process was very easy: Dave came to our house to take measurements and printed the quote right then. Dave then ordered the windows and the scheduler call to set up the installation date. The installation team was very skilled and accommodating. We have a 1920 house and it has a lot of quirks. The installation team corrected some issues (cosmetic and structural). The team explained each instance of correction, presented the options for correcting the issue, offered advice based on experience and prior knowledge, and then proceeded with the correction based on what was decided. These 3 sets of windows are the first step in our downstairs remodeling project. We won't be continuing the project for at least a few years, so the team gave us a finished look that will still be convenient for the changes we told them we are planning (knocking down walls, etc.). Awesome! The transformation from the old windows to the new windows is simply stunning! I can't convey just how happy we are with the product (Marvin Infinity). We can already see a rather large difference in our heating bill. Finally, as dog people, it was very nice that the installation team was so patient with our dogs occasionally bursting in to see what all the fuss was about :)

They put in replacement window inserts on 12 windows of a 1965 Rambler. Work was done quickly and efficiently and the work area's were kept clean with all trashed picked up and hauled away both inside and out. A minor crack was found on one window bottom frame (Did not impact strength or warranty) and I was given the option of waiting for a replacement or having it patched and a $200 discount. The repair has not yet been scheduled. Only issues were some information not known or not communicated by the sales person. 1. Minor window design changes were not known by the sales person and when I called after installation to ask it turns out the new design was not on their showroom either. Not a big deal. 2. I was told the window insides were stainable so I chose to do the staining myself. What I was not told was that an inner framing piece would use normal stain and the windows themselves needed a gell stain. Color matching 2 types of stain to the existing frames was beyond what I was able to do. The finishing company recommended did an excellent job but that was an additional expense I had not budgeted for. A fuller explaination of the staining tasks needed would have been helpful.

Overall the project went ok. They had to come out again to adjust the storm door.

It was great. We had a good experience with them. Scheduling for the service was very easy. They are very friendly, easy to work with, prompt, helpful and all the things we were looking for. This company is trust worthy, fair with pricing, and the quality is great.

It was excellent. The cost was pretty substantial because the house needed a customized door but everything else was pretty reasonable. The custom size door was expensive. They were very responsive to my requests. They were timely with getting the estimates to me. They subcontract to installers and they are very careful about the quality of installers they use. In between the 3 different doors I used two different teams that put them in and both of them were just excellent. I am using them again for a new house I am building. They mismeasured one of the measurements on the custom door so there was some delay in getting the right part in.

They are quick and did the job. Overall, they are very good.

The team was on time ? two workers ? they were extremely professional. Did beautiful work! It was close to zero that day and they worked fast and tried to minimize the cold in the house. The door was a margin pricey, but excellent quality.

They were on time. They did everything they needed to do. They were very good and easy to work with. The quality of the work was excellent because it looks brand new. Punctuality was right on time.

We love our new windows and are very happy with the end result. There were some glitches along the way which were frustrating. The salesperson ordered the wrong size windows for the basement, so those windows had to be reordered. This delayed the installation of the basement windows six weeks. Their were also some small problems with some of the Marvin Infinity Windows (one screen with a small tear, parts missing on a couple windows, and a trim strip that had a dent in it). The installers also initially installed the wrong trim for the upstairs bathroom window. It took several phone calls and emails to make sure that the problems with the upstairs windows would be properly resolved. The installers corrected all the problems on the same day they installed the basement windows. It was just rather frustrating that the installation was delayed six weeks.

They were helpful and accurate. They gave me good information.

After doing extensive research on replacement windows, and knowing that I wanted window inserts (rather than full window replacement), I began to narrow down the choices. I wanted the interior to look like wood, and I wanted something that was maintenance-free. Marvin Infinity windows were the logical choice. There were several companies in the Twin Cities that work with Marvin on the installation. But after reviewing Angies List, it was obvious that Scherer Window and Door Consultants was the most experienced and loved! We were introduced to Kit Kildahl as our Sales Consultant. He walked us thru the entire process. Because we had a "big" job---35 windows + patio door! I assumed Kit would assign an experienced crew. Well, I don't know where to start......Mitch, Nate, Minh, and Shehan from MDS Remodelling were the champs that got the call! If you have read other reviews of this Team, you know this group of guys may be the best in the business. They were here for three full days. They had a real challenge not only with the scope of all the replacement activity, but especially with two stacked bow windows on the front of the house where there had been extensive deterioration of the house structure due to leakage from the original windows. Mitch and his Team performed magic on this phase! Overall, this Team were not only professional craftsmen, but were friendly, very communicative, and offered lots of other valuable advice on other repairs that were needed on my house! The overall experience exceeded expectations.

Chris spent 2 hours helping me decide what doors were appropriate for the age of my home. He had a lap top computer with him so we could "build-a-door" on line. This was great since the odd sizes of my doors severely limited my options. I never got the impression that he was trying to tell me what I should have. Ultimately I decided to go with a smaller company and hire my own installer, which saved me a quite a bit. However, I feel really good about Scherer and have no qualms recommending them to my friend and family.

Kirk was knowledgeable and professional. My husband and I decided that we want Andersen windows, not Marvin windows. It turns out Scherer does do Andersen windows and Kirk was patient in giving us quotes for Andersen windows. The correspondences between Scherer and I after we accepted the quote and before the installation day were efficient and informative. They took care of the work permit as well. The installation crew was professional and courteous. I found a nail not pulled out of the window frame one day after the installation and called Scherer right away. One guy from the installation crew came to take care of very quickly, so all turned out to be just fine.

ok initially but installed wrong size door (too short in height) and they cut a drain pipe during install. Took 6 weeks to re-install correct door; paid for carpet cleaning when drain pipe leaked.

We were tremendously impressed with Scherer Window and Door Consultants. Dave, the sales consultant, came to our home, and patiently explained the window choices available to us, and how the installation process would work. After we chose Scherer, whenever we had any questions, we would email Dave, and he would always respond to our emails within 24 hours. The installation team was very courteous, friendly, and professional while they were in our home. They put in 2 full days of work and completed the project. They also did a great job cleaning up after the windows were installed. The windows look great. Quite a few of our neighbors have also commented on how nice the windows look. We can wholeheartedly recommend Scherer to anyone looking to install new windows in their home.

Excellent, materials delivered and work started on time. Job finished on time. No surprises. Familiar with MAC reimbursement requirements.
