Let's forget that they gave me an estimate on the phone and then upped it when they came over, pulled nails out and threw them on the floor, even though they were not painting the walls, dripped paint on the paneling and then smeared it in, making it worse. Here is my issue and look at the attached photos, when he came over before he even started he asked do you have a laundry tub to clean tools, I said no, I always use the hose and the 20 gallon bucket out back and showed it to him. After they were done and left, I wondered why my bathroom door was closed and went in there, they cleaned out all their paint tools and buckets in my bathtub, plugged it up with paint and left it like that and did not even tell me, so it was hours before I noticed and all the paint was dry and my tub is now ruined. Who does that? I'm just depressed with all the extra work and expense they have caused me.

Painting job needs to be re-done. 1) The cut in by the ceiling was not done correctly so you can see where they cut in - two tones of color. 2) Paint coverage was not even and needed more paint in areas. I pointed out when the paint was wet and they told me it would be fine when the paint was dry. I had to call them back and have them come and take a look at it when it was dry. They took a paintbrush out and put on more paint in a straight line. I now areas that stand out. 3) The paint for the stairway is a Ralph Lauren paint. I bought a special brush and indicated it needed to be used for that type of paint. I'm not sure what they used to paint did not go on correctly. I bought another gallon, for a small stairway, and had them apply a second coat. Even with the second coat, The application was on even and incorrect. When I asked the owner about it, he said they weren't going to redo it. They decided they were going to be doing any more of that type of paint. I would NOT recommend Robinsons. I would run the other way. I found them via Groupon and I will never use Groupon again. I will only go through Angie's list.

He turned out to be a joke. I bought a special deal through someone else. I did find out that he had been pulled from Angie's List. They got paint on everything. They are supposed to be professional painters. They got paint on slate tiles and oak trim. They said that they were going to do two coats and only did one. They were supposed to put everything back and they left the plates off. There was a patch left for us to do. Scheduling it was a nightmare. They said that they were going to show up and they did not. It was awful. I think that he changes his location around. The deal that I purchased was $300 for 3 rooms. I wanted the ceiling done in one of the rooms and so, he charged me extra for that. He included a tip. We had to hire another painter to come in and re-do the job. For the amount of money that I paid, I expected a more professional job. They were painting in the basement and used my brand new laundry sink to wash their paint stuff. I would highly caution people. I had to threaten legal action to get part of my money back. He promised something and did not deliver on it. They only did half of it.

It took MANY phone calls to make an app't for someone to look at what was to be done. But did finally get someone to come out. We continued making calls to see when it would be completed. It is now fall of 2012 ... the deck was 'finally' power washed. We purchased the 'steal' in May of 2012. Purchase of the stain was our responsibility -- I specifically called and asked for their recommendation, and was told "it really doesn't matter; everything out there is pretty good". Without further guidance, I relied on Consumer Reports evaluation, and selected the #1 ranked semi-transparent stain they listed (Behr; available through Home Depot). When someone came to stain the deck it was a chilly October day. We were unhappy with appearance from day #1: it was simply awful. There were drips; uneven application; areas missed between the wood planks -- very poor work overall. The worst part of all this is when the snow finally melted this spring the stain was already peeling off . To say it looks terrible is an incredible understatement. We were told (by another deck contractor) it was because the stain was applied in too cold weather. Will probably ask someone to come out from the company and see what they will do to correct. Money back or a redo.
Description of Work: I purchased a 'Steal' from the local newspaper in Mpls for '62% off Deck Staining and Power Washing from Robinson's Pro Painting'. The 'deal' was valued at $600...62% off made it $288. It was a great 'steal' so I purchased it.

My son is repainting all the rooms in his home, so his sister and I bought Crowd Cut coupons (the $99 was the discounted price for one room) for him to use. He said Robinson himself seemed annoyed just to be there, perhaps because we weren't paying full price, but that is only speculation. Despite this, the living room, which Robinson painted himself, was well done. An employee did the bedroom, where he got paint on the power outlets -- even though the covers had been removed -- and did not wipe them before the paint dried. Some spots were also not as well covered as others, and there were a few points where small lumps had been left that snapped off clean, leaving an unpainted surface below. When they cleaned their brushes using my son's hose in the driveway without asking, which may have been illegal because the drain leads to to freshwater, paint was left behind and dried in his gutter. The stairwell was done on a separate visit by Robinson and two employees. Robinson applied spackle to a couple of holes left in the wall from where a mirror had been. My son did not appreciate, however, finding a cigarette butt in his kitchen garbage. He did not smell smoke, but it was rude to even carry it through the house. The painting in the stairwell itself was poorly done. There were drips left on the walls, some spots were poorly covered, and other spots simply hadn't been painted at all. It needs to be completely redone.
