Little Blind Spot beat their competitors price by $500. The consultant arrived promptly and the installer did too. Because of Angies List, they waived the fees for take down of old shades and removal. I am very pleased and will use them in the future .

Michelle Forseth was terrific. She presented me a comprehensive estimate on furnishing my apartment with drapes, worked with me as I decided finally on what to do, and was promptly responsive to my every inquiry. In the end, i decided to install drapes only in the bedroom. I had Michelle make drapes with a thermal backing (or at least heavy lining). The drapes which now adorn my bedroom are well-tailored, accent the room beautifully, and have made the space very welcoming. In installing drapes with a thermal backing in the bedroom, which gets lots of late afternoon sun with its SW exposure (it also faces a busy street), the space is now quieter, reduces the intensity of the heat on warmest days (and presumably will help in winter too), and reduces the light into the bedroom in the early morning insuring a better sleeping environment. I'm most satisfied!
Description of Work: Visited my home for an initial consultation, prepared an estimate, had the product made, and installed it.

My husband and I have a hard time making decisions and Michelle didn't seem bothered at all by that and gave us all kinds of different scenario prices.
Description of Work: We visited the store and made an appointment for a free in-home consultation. Michelle came out and told priced out everything we wanted and even did different scenario estimates. The install was scheduled for a specific time (not a 4 hour window) and only took 2 hours for 4 rooms. We couldn't be happier with the experience.

I was really impressed initially when I contacted the Little Blind Spot via phone. I am disappointed to report that things did not go smoothly and I'm left wishing I had chosen another option. Kim came out to measure all our windows in December. She was very friendly and offered helpful suggestions on color. I ordered the blinds early so that we could have them installed before we began living in the house in late January. Paul arrived on time for the installation on January 24th. He identified early on that one of the blinds was damaged and told me that he needed to get some clips so he could restring it. At first, he thought he could go get them from their office and come back. Then, as he installed the others (about 25 windows worth), he identified that Kim had measured two windows incorrectly - the master bedroom and guest bedroom - so the blinds were too narrow. Because he would need to order replacements, he would have to come back. I asked what he could do to cover the windows for privacy and he offered to get some temporary shades back at their office and come back to put them up. While the temporary shades did the trick, they were an eye sore and we couldn't open or close them. While we waited for the new blinds to come in, I identified that in addition to the blind that was damaged that Paul caught on his initial install (which didn't get fixed until later), another blind was warped badly. I called the Little Blind Spot to report it and they asked me to take a picture and send it to them. They ultimately ordered a replacement, but I didn't hear back about it until Paul came for the second installation. At the second installation, Paul reported that the blinds for the master and guest bedrooms were wrong again. This time, they were too short. He admitted that he didn't measure the length to be sure it was right before he ordered the wider replacement. I asked what the Little Blind Spot would be willing to do to make it right given the hassle, large cost, and fact that we still didn't have workable blinds for two rooms 1.5 months after I placed the initial order. He later offered me $160. When I pointed out that it wasn't even three percent of my total bill, he said he felt it was generous. While he apologized and I understand that mistakes happen, I was disappointed and frustrated because this was avoidable. I asked Paul to have Kim call me, something I felt she should have initiated sooner. Kim called me a few days later to let me know that while the Little Blind Spot would be willing to take something off the price for the trouble, she didn't want to discuss how much until after everything was resolved. It seemed odd to me, but I agreed as long as they didn't charge my credit card for the remainder until we discussed it. Kim asked if I was happy with the blinds and I told her that I was disappointed in the quality. Although I had heard that Hunter Douglas was the best, we had quality issues with two blinds at that point (it would later be three). I told her that I was regretting spending so much on blinds, especially if the quality wasn't there. On the third installation visit, Paul replaced the warped blinds and installed blinds that now fit in the master bedroom and guest room. At this visit, he identified another issue - a warped valance on one of the new blinds. My husband asked him to simply order a replacement valance and he would install it. (We couldn't continue to take time off of work for this.) Paul left us with an invoice which included a letter from Kim stating that they would take the cost of one blind off the order (about $245). While this was better than $160, I was disappointed that Kim did not call to discuss this with me as she said she would. Instead, they charged my credit card the next day for the balance. It felt like they didn't want to deal with me so they wrote a letter instead and then charged my card without calling me. The other vendors I worked with to get our house set up always called before charging my card. I am sad that things didn't go better because I want to support small, locally-owned businesses. Part of it was out of their control because it was quality issues with Hunter Douglas. The mismeasuring and lack of communication was within their control, however. I would have liked Kim to call me after the first time the blinds were measured wrong. I also would have liked to see Kim follow through on calling me to discuss what they were willing to do, rather than sending Paul with a letter and charging my card without calling me the next day. In hindsight, I wish I would have opted for a less expensive option (I don't think Hunter Douglas is worth the price), measured it ourselves, and installed them ourselves. I think it would have been less hassle and would have cost us a lot less.
Description of Work: I purchased Hunter Douglas painted wood blinds from the Little Blind Spot for 25+ windows in our new home the third week of December. Paul from the Little Blind Spot installed them starting on January 24th (there were multiple visits to get it completed).

Hi Customer, I am so sorry that you are unhappy with us and the quality of the blinds! We had agreed to talk the night Paul completed the installation but you weren’t home. We ran your credit card 2 days later when we still couldn’t reach you. We appreciate your business and apologize for the delays in getting everything right! You do have quality Hunter Douglas wood blinds and we are here to service them should you have any future problems with them. I left you a message last week after reading this to see what more I can do for you and to let you know that you qualify for the Angie’s List Members’ Free Installation. I hope to hear back from you. I called for a free in-home window shade consultation for 3 large windows i needed covered. Easily set up for a few days out. Person arrived promptly, showed us some samples of the type we had mentioned on the phone as being interested in. She measured quickly, made some small talk, and gave us the quote. She said it would be 3-4 weeks before they would be made (by manufacturer, not Little Blind Spot) and installed. There was definitely no pressure to hurry up accept the quote. The quote came in at 50% higher than similar, (but not identical) blinds I priced myself at the various big box stores and online, even though that included "free" installation they offer Angie's List members. The other caveat was that all the blinds I looked at elsewhere advertised a 2 week delivery, which was much better than the 3-4 weeks I was told for the Hunter Douglas blinds from Little Blind Spot. When you don't have any blinds up at all in your home, a 1-2 week difference in getting your shades delivered is a big difference! I ended up ordering the blinds from a big box myself and saving 50% and installing them myself in about 45 minutes. Granted that means I took on the responsibility of measuring/ordering correctly myself, which thankfully I did correctly! Bottomline: If price had been a bit more comparable to the big box stores (especially since I was receiving "free" installation with my quote), I would have gone with Little Blind Spot--no reason not too as they were local, friendly, professional, and undoubtedly would have done an excellent job installing them. The longer delivery window would have been worth it as well. Unfortunately, I couldn't justify the price difference given that this was a finishing step on an already way over-budget home remodeling project.

Thank you, Member, for acknowledging the value of the service we offer. Quality and service are our priorities! Yes, the price of window coverings does vary according to quality. We quoted you Hunter Douglas shades which are manufactured in the United States and have a life time guarantee. The custom ordered window coverings arrive to us in about 2 weeks. We tell you to expect 3-4 weeks so that we can schedule the installation according to your availability. And yes, “free” installation to Angie’s List referrals truly is FREE!

They were punctual. Advised me on several choices of high quality products. Ordered custom sized blinds. Called when ready and installed. Neat and clean installation. Excellent, punctual, caring employees. They have also been very dependable with custom orders that I take out and install myself. They have always worked with me to solve any problems and help me in my rental business. From my years of experience with them, i would highly endorse them.
Description of Work: I had them measure and install blinds in a condominium with unusual windows. I also have purchased many blinds and patio vertical blinds from them over the past few years for some rental property and remodeling jobs. This was the first time they installed anything for me.

I was quite impressed with how quickly The Little Blind Spot staff responded from our very first call until the project was complete. She was extremely helpful in giving input on the selections but I felt no pressure to purchase the more expensive blinds. I appreciated her showing us the different blinds and the varying price depending on our selection. Once the blinds were ordered it took about 4 weeks until installation but that was due to them trying to accommodate our working schedules. Paul installed the blinds and he was very fast, he obviously knew what he was doing. He took the extra time to show us how to use the blinds and encouraged us to call with any questions or concerns. I gave the price a B because the blinds cost as much as the actual windows that we had installed in May. Again we made the choice on what we chose to purchase. I only had one other estimate which was a little less with their discounts but we chose Little Blind Spot because of their customer service.

I read the reviews here and called the Little Blind spot to schedule an estimate. Nate and Trisha (I think that was her name, apologies if I am wrong) showed up within 1 minute of the scheduled appt. and measured off about 20 windows (I wanted an estimate for all m windows, but could only afford 4). After they measured, I asked Nate what the approx. cost was for the main window (which would be 3 powered blinds). He said approx. $1200, but would get back to his office and send me an estimate that day or by the next. The next morning, the estimate was waiting in my email. However, the powered blinds were actually 300 less. I called Nate about this and some other details, and Nate told me that when he had got back to the office, he found that the manufacturer had lowered their prices. Wow, thanks Nate!. Nate then said the blinds would take about 3 weeks (which he had already told me when he was at my house) and that the installer would call me as soon as the blinds were in. About 3 days letter, I got a thank-note from Nate, and in that note as a card for a $300 rebate from the manufacturer of the blinds. Nate wrote that I should fill out the card even though the blinds had not been delivered. I did, and was very happy to say the least that I would get $300 back on my $2000 total. Again, thanks Nate! I had no idea there was a rebate, and Nate/the Blind Spot were very honest in every way possible (both with the reduction on estimate vs. actual when Nate had gotten back to the shop after his estimate, and then with the rebate. On July 26.2012, Kevin the installer called me and said the blinds were in, and when would it be convenient for him to come out for the install. I told him that I would like to have him out as soon as possible as I was anxious to finish off the remodeling of part of my house. He said he could be at my house the following Monday at 8am.. At 7:59 am on that Monday, he showed up. He installed the blinds and showed me how the remote works for the power blinds (they are really quiet and slick). After about 90 mins of a meticulous install and thorough cleanup, Kevin left. Not sure how the experience could have been better. My blinds are in, they work, I took no effort past a phone call to the Little Blind Spot, and now I await my $300 rebate to come from the manufacturer. To The Little Blind Spot, thank you for taking care of me and being so professional and nice during the entire process. A+ and will recommend to anyone I know that is need of window treatment.

I took two blinds in to have them restrung - This is one of the few places open on a Saturday. That was the biggest plus (in addition, they had great ratings on Angie's list). I was relatively new to Angie's list and thought it was only used for building contractors, so this was a nice benefit - finding a business for a pretty simple repair.Customer Service was great, folks on the phone were very helpful. Work was done in about two weeks (I was in no rush). Price seemed high for a string replacement - but I didn't get other bids - so it very well may be right in the ball park for this repair - I'm not complaining - if the price was too outrageous, I would have done more work on my end. Overall a great experience.

When I dropped it off the Monday before Thanksgiving, I was told that it would be a week to ten days before it would be ready. I was astounded when they called me the next afternoon to tell me it was ready. The repairman worked like crazy to reduce the backlog before the holiday. I'd give them an A+ for service like that! From the ordering to the installation, it couldn't have gone better! I had tried several other window treatment stores but wasn't confident enough in my own decorating skills to order from the showroom. Then I called the Little Blind Spot. An appointment was scheduled for Kim (who happens to be the owner of the company) to come to my home later that week. She was so helpful and with her recommendations, I ended up with an order slightly different than what I would have ordered on my own in a showroom. She took all the window measurements at the time of her visit. The delivery and installation of the window treatments were done in a very timely and professional manner. Despite the personal, in home attention, the over all price was better than the showroom competitors I had visited. Thanks so much to Kim and others at the Little Blind Spot for making this such a hassle-free experience!

I called Little Blind Spot to repair a large door size vertical/vertiglide blind. I had hired a general handyman first who couldn't fix it, then called several other companies, some of which told me I could do it myself or referred me to someone else who told me I could do it myself. Little Blind Spot answered the phone, made an appointment with me, and went over the billing so there would be no surprises. The representative came on time, fixed the blind, and offered to restring another blind that was not even on the work order, but was within the time alloted for the job. He was great to work with, and stressed that the job came with a year warranty, so if I had problems again, they would come back and it would be covered. I'm very happy with Little Blind Spot!

Really enjoyed working with Kim. She showed me any options and had good ideas on color and what would work for my needs. She came with a GREAT price for the product, too. The only reason I did not go with her/Little Blind Spot was because another vendor could get me the same product a few days sooner. Little Blind Spot impressed me by coming to my home themselves to measure the windows. Other companies in the past have had me measure the windows on my own. The representative brought a sample packet with her and helped me pick out the ones I want. The fact that they are so hands on with the work takes a lot of the guess work out of the job. I used The Big Deal website to save money on the project.

Service + Quality = Beautiful window shades in our living room. Penny came to my home for a free consultation and really made the various options clear. She measured the windows. I was having trouble deciding between different lift systems and other features, so she made an Option 1 and Option 2 and provided a written quote for each. I needed to think about it- fine, no pressure. After she left, I realized I forgot to ask for the Angies's list discount Little Blind Spot had noted. I had a personal reference, so I didn't mention Angie's list. I called her back and she readjusted the price, on both options, to reflect the discount. Very nice about it. I confirmed the order over the phone and the shades were installed 2 weeks later! Paul, an employee of Little Blind Spot, was on time and did an excellent job on the installation. He explained everything and cleaned up the area. I love our new shades and am sure this local, family business will be around to help if problems arise.

The hours of this store are convenient for working professionals and they're open on Saturdays! The location is easy to find and there's ample parking. Service is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. We had a rather large, uniquely sized honeycomb window shade with a broken cord. They replaced and rethreaded it. The cost and timing quoted were exact and there is a one-year guarantee on their work. We are very happy with their service!

Designer came to my home with samples for drapes and shades. I opted to proceed with the shade project first and the order was processed within a few days. They gave me an approximate delivery date and shades arrived early. Paul came to install the shades -- he was efficient and precise. I was not thrilled with the look of the valance end-cap as it didn't hide the bracket. Paul took measurements and said they would contact the manufacturer to see of they could provide new ones. I got a call a couple of weeks later that my new end caps were in and ready to be installed -- problem solved!

Free in-house estimate - very helpful and friendly. We visited the showroom and had great interaction with the people there. The person who installed the blinds was also friendly and easy to work with. Very quick, too. We'd gladly use this company again! (Installation was free, and they helped us to find blinds that were on sale.)

From start to finish, they were fabulous. From entering their store, very friendly and professional. I thought they were very customer oriented; best I've seen in a long time. I would not go anywhere else!
Description of Work: Two inch wooden blinds for three rooms were installed. The installer also put old blinds in another room which was not on the work order but we appreciated.
