When I contacted Dana Hoagland Plumbing I told them exactly what I needed done and that I lived in st. Louis Park. I did meet with the estimator and I decided I was going to go with them. Approximately a week before the project Kathy at Dana Hogland Plumbing called me and said that they went down to the city to try to pull a permit for the job and that they couldn't. Her explanation was that the city of st. Louis Park changed some of their procedures and practices. So being the past licensed remodeling contractor that I am I went down to the city inspections department and talk to Aaron. He explained that they didn't change any procedures or practices That Dana Hoagland Plumbing let one aspect of their license lapse in 2014 and didn't renew it. So they lied to me and tried to blame it on the city

Their technician that handles this part of time came when scheduled and was thorough, professional, and very personable. He explained the process and what to look for after the treatment.

They performed perfect work and a gave us a great price. They're very nice people to deal with. I've been recommending them to anyone who needs plumbing work.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Setting up the appointment was easy, and Dana was able to come out just a few days after I called (it wasn't an emergency). Dana and Jake arrived just a few minutes after the agreed-on time. They were courteous and professional, and went right to work examining the spigot and figuring out the problem. They explained things clearly as they went along, which was very helpful. They worked efficiently, but with friendliness and a good sense of humor. They had the new spigot and piping in their truck, and did a tidy and thorough job removing the old spigot and installing the new one. The price was reasonable (and clearly explained when they outlined the couple of options we had to do a partial fix or a replacement), and Dana put together a detailed invoice before we paid him. Altogether a good, and even enjoyable, experience! I feel we now have a plumber that we'll call for any future plumbing needs. Plumber was easy to contact and schedule. Original appointment time rescheduled at my request with no problem. Arrived on time and performed all work in friendly and professional fashion, at what I believe was a fair price for the amount, complexity, and quality of work performed. I recommend Dana Hoagland plumbing without reservation, and would definitely bring back for any future plumbing work required.

Things started with a trip to the Angie's List web site. I narrowed my search to "A" rated companies that were relatively close to my neighborhood. I sent messages to four plumbers. I don't remember why I focused on Hoagland plumbing, but I did. I spoke with Nicole who runs their office. Dana was available within my time frame. That was a huge relief. We'd meet our deadline. As with all four plumbers I spoke with, Nicole told me the work would be on a time and materials basis. Hoagland's rates were comparable with the others. Before the date of the work, I got a call from the better half of Hoagland Plumbing, Kathy. Kathy and I discussed the nature of the work. She said it sounded like it was more complicated than my layman's description implied. She asked if I could take some photos. I did. My project was way more complicated. Thanks to my good luck, Hoagland's had a cancellation on the the date of my appointment and Dana would be able to start his day with us. The project looked like two long, separate gas lines, one to the water heater and one to the furnace needed to be replaced. All that copper and labor would cost us around $2,000. Along the way, there would be a challenge in that the inspector wouldn't be able to inspect the job for at least 24 hours. That means on a December's winter evening, we wouldn't be able to use our furnace because the new pipes would not have been inspected and approved. In the end, because of Dana's experience and creativity and because of his relationship with a very professional inspector, not only was our furnace running that evening, but the problem of two bad lines of pipe was resolved with one new line of pipe. The cost was $1300. Finally, as we homeowner's tend to do, along the way I asked Dana a question about a little plumbing problem that was bugging me. Not only did he explain the problem, he gave me the instructions that would allow me to do the work myself. Not only that, he went out of his way to make sure I'd know how to fix the little issue. I just called Dana Hoagland Plumbing Inc and asked for an emergency service because our hot water heater is not working - of course on a day that we have company in from out-of-town and we are hosting our daughters 10th birthday party at our home. I was told that they do not "do hot water heaters"! The lady even put me on hold and came back to tell me that. I am Beyond disappointed and would NEVER recommend this business to anyone. Especially after I just read on Angie's List that they repair hot water heaters. Clearly she did not want our business.

Hoagland Plumbing provided extraordinary service from scheduling through estimate through service. Jake arrived for the estimate perfectly on time, was respectful and helpful and suggested good solutions, was positive about decisions we had already made, and represented the character of Hoagland Plumbing in a way that proved to be wholly in keeping with Dana's service. Dana arrived for the service appointment perfectly on time. He did a beautiful job on each part of the work he did, and left our house in vastly better plumbing condition than he found it. He was professional, thorough, and excellent. Serious, unexpected complications arose, and he dealt with them calmly, compassionately, and generously. It would be impossible for us to praise this company too highly. These are trustworthy, reliable, good people, and we will gladly and gratefully ask for their service again when a need arises.

In a word awesome! Nicole who took the call was very pleasant and professional. Dana who actually came out to do the work was very detailed and even suggested a couple of minor fixes that were inexpensive. He explained everything he was doing and his pleasant and positive attitude was refreshing! He came out at the end of the day and was not in a rush to complete the work. I would recommend Dana Hoagland Plumbing to anyone in the twin cities area!!

Dana was incredible. Showed up on time, installed the gas line in a very complicated situation. Moved the new stove into position, and installed. I did not expect that to be part of this service, but he did without hesitation. Cleaned up everything upon completion. Will definitely use again for other projects.

I called Dana because i had a gas leak in my dryer. His assistant told me he was booked out for a few weeks, but still managed to squeeze me in since she felt bad that I couldn't do laundry! He found the leak and fixed a pipe that wasn't up to regulation, and did it all in less than an hour. He was great.

He figured out exactly what was causing the problem right away. I needed a new faucet. Then he went out to Home Depot and paid for it for me. So total cost includes travel expense and new faucet. Afterwards he sealed edge of sink to stop any other leakage. Everything works now. What a relief.

No work was done as there was no follow up call to provide a quote or to schedule an appointment.

We have worked with this company in the past and they always exceed our expectations. We requested their assistance in ordering a toilet and the Gerber product which was installed is fabulous. Our home has four older toilets of which only one worked well. It's hard to believe a new toilet can be so exciting but we are so happy with the performance. Dana came back a second time to install new fixtures in our powder room. Everything went smoothly and we have scheduled Dana to come back soon to install another toilet and some faucets. We are upgrading some items in our home this year and we feel it's worth paying a plumber when it comes to items that may cause water damage if installed improperly. Dana and Kathy have been wonderful to work with and we're grateful to have found this company. We appreciate their advice to help us choose the right products. They are always professional and on time or will call if there are any delays.

He found that the work that had been done previously was almost illegal it was so bad. He did an excellent job fixing things and getting us back in shape. I would definitely use him again.
