D & T Appliance was founded in January 2002 . We started our company with the intentions of providing a professional service experience to the customer; this “professional service” starts with the individual who takes the original incoming call from the customer, answering the call promptly, setting up the service call in a timely manner and then servicing the product when we said we would be there. It seems that this type of service experience was missing from our marketplace as we have since grown to 25 employees. Our company is also the only Nationally Certified Service Center in Minnesota. We specialize in the premium appliances as well as standard appliances. We strive to make sure that every customer is happy and that they want to tell their friends and family about our services.

Jessica was really helpful with setting up the appt and answering all of my questions before/after the service call. Chad, the service tech, was on-time, professional and figured out how to resolve the issue in no time. We'd definitely use D&T again the next time the need arises.

Over all it went fine...however it took two weeks to get the part, which I though was a long time. When I didn't hear from them after a week, I had to call them for an update; they didn't have any ETA on when the part would arrive.

Very well. While I was annoyed that the person who took the call misunderstood which element needed replacing, it ultimately didn't matter since I didn't realize there were two parts to the broil element that needed to be ordered and replaced. Very nice repair man.
Description of Work: The broil element in my Viking wall oven burned out. The person who took the call mistakenly listed it as the bake element, necessitating another trip for when the correct part came in. As it turned out this oven has an inner and an outer broil element, both of which were not working. In addition, one of the lights would go out when the oven got hot. He explained why and replaced the fixture. He determined the other light was also going to soon malfunction and gave me the choice of waiting for that to happen or ordering a part for that as well and fixing it on the same ticket.

I don't know where to start. I called around and was referred to D and T. Eric answered on the second ring. Wow. He had Jol ready to go and was out at my house in 40 minutes. Double Wow. It took Jol 15 minutes to fix my frig! Triple Wow. I needed it done same day, D and T got it done same morning. Happy wife, happy life.

I selected D & T because they are a Dacor authorized dealer. I had to wait a week or so because they wanted to make sure the tech had the right part for our ovens and they did not have the part in stock which they suspected had failed. When the tech arrived, he checked the oven and confirmed it was the upper oven's power relay. However, that is not available as a separate part. Instead, the entire controller board had to be replaced for the upper oven, which made it quite a bit more expensive. I had him go ahead. With the replacement board in place, the oven has worked properly ever since. I am disappointed with Dacor for not using a more robust power relay in this oven and the replacement board is just the same as the original.
Description of Work: The upper oven in our Dacor double oven failed.

From the minute I called D and T to meeting the technician service was excellent. They also worked with my schedule when I had something come up. If the dryer didn't work right they offered to come back out free of charge (i never had to call them, they fixed it the first time!) highly professional and knwledgable. Their prices are competitive with other appliance repair companies.

Frustrating, but probably not D&T's fault. Problem intermittent. Was finally asked to send a video of an occurrence; got a good one & sent it. Turned out repair would be almost as much as a new washer. So we decided to live with it, as we couldn't afford that. Plus the new washers with electronic rather than mechanical controls (according to web reviews) seem to be having numerous water level problems. So we decided to work around the problem, which is what we were doing before. They came out a lot of times, and they tried their best. (They did NOT charge us for the repeat visits, although we were charged for 2 replaced parts) ( one was broken and absolutely necessary, the other was a reasonable attempt to solve the problem) (we have no problem with either charge, they were done in good faith). Footnote: I found a web entry from 2012, written by a repairman, describing a customer with our problem exactly - he couldn't help them, either, and it frustrated him.

D&T were great. They answer and return calls quickly, they were familiar with my brand and model of appliance, they had to order parts but added coolant to get me by while waiting for parts. The service professional explained everything, provided great advice, and after a higher estimate the actual cost was less which was nice. The repair included having to replace coils plus the evaporator, plus some other repairs. The service professional was very experienced, later I found out he was one of the owners. Their work prevented the replacement of a very expensive appliance, I'm grateful. I recommend them for anything, including high-end appliances.

When I set the appointment, I let them know that my washer wasn't spinning and that the motor light indicated it was the lid switch (it blinks a certain number of times to tell you what is wrong). Had to wait a week until someone could come out. When he arrived, I told him that I thought it was the lid switch and why. His response? "Oh, did you learn that on Google or YouTube?" (in a snarky way). Did not appreciate the attitude or the assumption that I couldn't possibly figure out what was wrong. When he was done with his inspection, he did determine that it was the lid switch, charged me for the visit, and set up an appointment to come fix it yet another week later. I ended up ordering the part on Amazon and fixing it that day, myself, because I was so annoyed with how I was treated and the long, drawn-out process. Overall my experience in making the appointment, them showing up, and the inspection was fine. It was the attitude of the service person that I did not appreciate. I also have worked with other companies that try to determine the problem over the phone and bring the part needed to avoid having to have multiple visits, charges, and time wasted.

D&T was hired because they could arrive the next day. We have a household of 7 people and needed a fast fix because the laundry piles up quickly. D&T said if they needed to order a part, it would take 3-5 business days. They came out on a Friday and found they needed a part...so assuming it would take 5 business days I told them to go ahead. Then the trouble started. I asked them to order the part on Friday - they didn't until Monday. After 6 additional business days (remember, it was 5 max), I called only to find out that the part was on backorder and it would be another 1.5 weeks. It was already 1.5 weeks without a washer. We cancelled the repair and bought a new machine. They were kind enough to let us cancel but it is pretty bush league to not call us when the repair will take 3 weeks instead of the 5 they claimed. Not professional at all.

Called in advance. Was on time, as scheduled. Respectful of house as service technician removed shoes at front door. Diagnostic done. Determined that frig side of door was warped at top. Unit is 14 years old. No replacement parts available anymore for the model and production date. Recommendations made for using until other issues appeared due to age of appliance. Very professional. Thorough assessment. Would definitely use again!

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! I called D&T because of the good reviews and rating I'd seen on Angie's List. However, my experience with them was truly AWFUL! When the service tech (who was rather grumpy) finished troubleshooting the cooling issue with my 4 1/2 year old LG refrigerator, he told me that the compressor was bad and needed to be replaced. He looked up the serial number on his laptop and told me that it was out of warranty. He gave me a verbal quote of over $800 to repair the refrigerator and then emailed me two written estimates, one for $758 and the other $521. Since the $521 estimate did not list the compressor, I assumed the $758 estimate was the correct estimate. Out of curiosity, I googled the cost of the compressor (based on the part number indicated on the estimate) and found that they were marking up the compressor over $100. I then googled the serial number of my refrigerator and found that it did indeed have a 10 YEAR WARRANTY on the compressor, which D&T flat-out LIED TO ME about. My husband contacted LG and they confirmed the compressor was under warranty. LG said they would provide D&T with a new compressor to be installed in the refrigerator, but we would have to pay the labor cost (which we were fine with). I called D&T to ask if they'd be willing to work with LG to obtain the compressor under warranty and was told by D&T that they "would not do warranty work because LG would not pay them for the mark-up on the compressor." I was then told by D&T that I could pay D&T the full cost based on their estimate and then try to get reimbursed for the compressor through LG. BUT I should be aware that I would not get reimbursed for the full cost D&T would charge me for the compressor because of their (exorbitant) mark-up. He went on to state that "LG can't make me do warranty work for them; it's my choice not theirs." SERIOUSLY?! First D&T plainly lied to me about the warranty, and then they want to gouge me to make the repair?! All with a very flippant attitude. Absolutely disgusting. BOTTOM LINE: This is an untrustworthy, disreputable company in my opinion, and I would not recommend anyone doing work with them.

Thank you for your feedback. I do apologize that you did not have a positive experience with our company. As a general rule most appliances only have a one year factory warranty. If a customer has a question on the warranty we ask that the customer to provide a copy of his/her owner's manual to verify warranty coverage. As your serial number indicates that it is over a year old the technician would advise that the unit is out of warranty. The serial number on your unit shows a November of 2011 manufacture date. As each manufacture is different it is very difficult to know the warranty period as well as any additional extended warranty the product may carry. I apologize the technician did not ask to view your owner's manual for warranty coverage. We do have a mark up on our parts and can only base our cost on the purchase the new OEM part. There are companies online that sell parts cheaper than we can get them for. Sometimes these companies are also selling used parts. Some of the reasons for our mark up is to cover the part under warranty if it happens to fail again (which we do for 1 year from installation), as well as all transportation costs to get the part to our shop and ultimately the consumer's home. Lastly we are unable to work with LG and their warranty. I'm sorry LG directed you to us incorrectly. At this time we are not an LG authorized servicer. This means that we are unable to bill LG and get paid for a warranty repair. If we do find out that a product we have worked on carries a warranty that we are unable to support it is our policy to recommend that the customer work with an authorized service center that can support the product warranty. We would direct the customer back to his/her manufacture to find out the authorized service companies.

This was a big, two-person job, and they performed it on the same day we were moving out of the house! We had to have the fridge fixed before we could close on the sale, so completion THAT DAY was a critical need. The original scope of work was for just the heat exchanger, which was still going to be expensive and time-consuming. Once replaced, though, the compressor was also identified to have failed. They hadn't budgeted for this item in dollars or in time. They found the replacement part, cancelled their other appointments for the rest of the day, fetched the part, and installed it. It took about 6-7 hours, in total. They saved our butts, and we were really glad they were able to get it done. Thanks to Joe, and especially thanks to Marcus!

D&T had a busy calendar when I contacted the company. So I booked a 4-hour time window a week later. During the day of the appointment, the technician called me 20 minutes before arrival, worked on the washing machine, and fixed the machine in about 40 minutes. Courteous and professional. I had provided information on the washing machine when making the appointment, so he brought the spare part, which was helpful. Cost of the repair was below the initial estimate I had been given.

I spoke with Eric for a few minutes about the cost for the labor and replacement cost for the drum. Although we will most likely replace the machine instead of the drum, I valued D&T's quick response with details about what the alternative would take.

A tenant in a rental property I own reported that the dishwasher was leaking. I called D&T on the afternoon of Christmas Eve and received a prompt return call on the morning of the 26th. The dispatcher was very professional and made the transaction quite convenient. They were able to accept credit card payment over the phone, and coordinate scheduling with the tenant. The technician was prompt and the repair was successful. D&T provided an invoice via email after the work was completed.
