D & T Appliance was founded in January 2002 . We started our company with the intentions of providing a professional service experience to the customer; this “professional service” starts with the individual who takes the original incoming call from the customer, answering the call promptly, setting up the service call in a timely manner and then servicing the product when we said we would be there. It seems that this type of service experience was missing from our marketplace as we have since grown to 25 employees. Our company is also the only Nationally Certified Service Center in Minnesota. We specialize in the premium appliances as well as standard appliances. We strive to make sure that every customer is happy and that they want to tell their friends and family about our services.

This is the second time D & T has been out to fix my still-under-warranty refrigerator. Both times the technicians have been courteous, professional and informative. They have coordinated well with the manufacturer so that I have not had to wait a long time for repairs. The technicians are knowledgeable and confident in diagnosing and addressing problems.

It went well. Marcus arrived on time. I used D & T because I have an LG refrig and they are the aurthorized repair co. They charge a fee for coming out, but is applied toward any work needed. I figured it would need some thing. He called the LG tech for advice and it was a simple fix, I guess. Marcus was careful not to get ice on the floor and cleaned everything up when thruough. Clean, nice, polite

Called late afternoon on a Monday and D&T said they could have a repair technician out on Wednesday. They would call in the morning with a 2 hour time window. The tech called with a 1 hour window and arrived at our home on time. He was professional, competent, courteous and was able to complete the repair in about an hour. D&T, like many others bill labor costs based on a pre-determined rate for the repair. If all goes smoothly, the hourly labor rate can be much higher than you might otherwise expect to pay. They are not alone in this practice and overall the experience was a very positive one.

He arrived and fixed the electric element. The wires inside had been sheered off. He then took a look at the dishwasher.It just needed a few screws tightened on the washer arm. I had taken it apart thinking it was clogged, and could not get it back together correctly. He told us that if the dishes were still not getting clean it would be the motor going bad. It would cost more to fix than to buy a new one. So he told us to try it and see if the dishes were cleaner. They were. It turns out that our water hardness had changed and that was why the dishes were not as clean. So I had taken the arm apart for no reason. I discovered this a few days after he was here. I am very happy with the service.
Description of Work: I had two appliances needing repair. An electric burner out on my stove top. A dish washer that I thought needed a new top washer arm as it was not cleaning as well as it should.

I was very pleased with their service. The repair person arrived at the scheduled time, was neatly dressed, very polite, informative, and made sure all my questions were answered. I was very pleased that the repair person was honest about nothing being wrong, and that no repairs were necessary.
Description of Work: I called several repair services and D&T were the only ones that repaired LG Dryers. My dryer had a rattle and I wanted to be sure nothing was wrong. The repair person checked out the dryer and said there was nothing wrong. It was normal wear and tear. He offered to take it apart to fix the rattle if I wanted but said it wasn't necessary as far as the dryer running properly. So no repairs were done.

They were prompt (next day) and thee service tech was very friendly and knowledgeable. My only complaint is that they were very expensive for what was done. Apparently, D&T works on a flat rate based on the repair (like auto dealers), my repair was listed at $175 - the explanation being that many dryers are built in and much more difficult to get at than ours. At any rate, the tech called in to see if they could lower the price and the did knock $25 off using some other job code. I said in my evaluation that I would use them again because they were prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable, but I will shop around first before trying them again for more reasonable prices. I rated them them a "B" overall rather than "A" just because of the cost.
Description of Work: We had an LG dryer that wouldn't heat. The tech came in, unscrewed about four screws, pulled the front of the dryer off, looked inside below the drum, pushed a reset button (I think he said it was for the high heat limiter), and said "You're all set". In all, he was there about 10 minutes.

Very well. The technician was very professional, punctual and thorough. He diagnosed and repaired the drainage issue that we were experiencing with our freezer. While doing so he also noted that we needed to replace the missing light cover and instead of visiting twice, he ordered the light cover and then returned within a few days to fix both issues (and didn't charge us for 2 service visits.) This company was very helpful in working with our very busy schedules which was also very much appreciated. I will be happy to use them in the future.

D&T Appliance Service has done repairs under warantee to our washing machine twice. They were very helpful and professional, did a good job, cleaned up nicely, and gave us some helpful tips on how to care for our appliances. Names of people who came were Rod, Bob and Marcus. I would definitely use them again!

My stove top is 28 years old. The stem was broken,(we think by the naughty dog), and it was hard to find the part. A lot of them are no longer made. We found a part, I called on a Monday and they came out on Wednesday. We were told on Monday, what time to expect a call on Wednesday, to give us up a two hour time frame for installation. They called right on time and were here on time. The replacement of the part went without a hitch.

Lady answering the phone was very nice and explained their pricing structure. I was so desperate to fix the darned thing, I almost didn't care how much it cost. The technician who came was very pleasant and polite. It took him about an hour to fix the machine. Not sure what he did, as I stayed out of his way. He explained how he fixed it, but I didn't listen very well. I was just so grateful to have a quiet dryer.
Description of Work: my dryer made this horrible squeaking sound every time it dried something. it was so annoying. i asked them to fix it and the technician fixed it and explained how he did it.

The overall experience was excellent - when the technicial left, the appliance was working to my satisfaction, and I had new knowledge and information regarding preventative maintenance for gas dryers - approximately two weeks later the issue recurred - the same service individual returned promptly and was very honest and transparent about this second visit for the same issue - it turned out the second visit found a different issue as cause for the same symptom; however, he felt he should have caught the issue the first time (even though it worked when he left) so the charges were minimal - if I recall correctly, I only paid for the part and was not charged for the service call in any way - I will use this company again.
Description of Work: Provided thorough explanations for all suggested repairs - was welcome to my presence during the repair of the gas dryer - came to home in response to gas dryer (6yr old whirlpool) not generating heat on any of the dry cycles - provided a thorough clearning and review of entire appliance as part of basic service and evalaution - responded politiely to any and all questions - showed each specific damaged part and the new part as well - sought my review and approval for every repair item (I believe there were three total items to repair in dryer - one related to heat issue and two others discovered durring disassembly and review) I am submitting this report late so the date and dollar amount are close estimates; however, the other details of the event are accurate and true.

Purchased a DCS stove from Warner Stellian on 9/19/09. Installed by Appliance Specialties Inc on 9/30/09 but it is not working. D&T appliance can't come out until 10/6/09. Repairman thinks it is the regulator. They can't install the regulator until 10/20/09. Installation doesn't fix the problem. D&T appliance will send another repairman, but not until 10/27/09. Problem finally identified as lack of gas regulator in the gasline (installer's fault) Appliance Specialties came out the same day to finally repair the problem. We are still waiting for D&T appliance to come and install the trim-kit. (on backorder)
Description of Work: Purchased a stove at Warner Stellian. Had it installed by Appliance Specialties, Inc. but it wasn't working. It took 3 visits spread out over 5 weeks for D&T Appliance Service Co to determine the problem.

The rep was professional and quickly diagnosed the issue. He told me that the part would need to be ordered and it would take 10 days for him to get it. Everything was going fine until he told me to pay the entire money upfront. The cost included the motor (which we needed), the labor and the fan assembly (which we may or may not have needed) When I commented on it being odd that I was being charged for 100% cost (including labor) upfront he told me that that was the company policy and since I disagreed, he left.
Description of Work: D&T came in to look at a squeaking fan for a range hood. The rep diagnosed the problem and suggested a new motor as the solution

I called D & T Appliance Service after I discovered our seconday refrigerator was not working. Both the freezer and refrigerator lights were not working and the compressor would not run. I called and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Mark showed up on time and was very professional. He diagnosed the problem as a broken wire inside the cabinet of the refrigerator, which unfortunately, was not fixable. He seemed genuinely disappointed that it could not be repaired. I would not hesitate to call D & T in the future.
Description of Work: D & T Appliance service diagnosed my refrigerator's problem. Their technician diagnosed the problem as an internal wire break.

When I called D & T to set up the service time, the person on the phone told me that the service call is $95.00 & 90.00 of that charge is applicable to labor charges, she also said that I would get a 10% discount (Angie's List discount). After being in my laundry room for 15 minutes, I foolishly assumed that the $95.00 charge would be enough to cover this minor job, but the service man brought me a bill for 131.75 (less the 10% discount, it came to $118.75). I thought that was very high for 15 minutes of work, which was basically tightening a few screws on the machine - he didn't have to move it or do anything else to it. I did pay the bill & then called the office manager at D & T, she assured me that the 'job charge' for my washer's problem is 127.75 + a 4.00 fuel surcharge. I told them I thought they was very high - comes to about $500.00 per hour. They said they would send me a $25.00 coupon for my next service call, but I declined. I will not be calling them again.
Description of Work: He tightened a couple of screws on the cover of the machine - it took him a few minutes. He then ran the washing machine for another few minutes to make sure it would go into the wash cycle. He was in our house for about 15 minutes.

At less than a year old, my Frigidaire front-load washing machine began leaking badly. Frigidaire's web site referred me to D&T for warranty service. I left a message that evening and was not called back in spite of the voice mail prompt that said they would return calls (hence the bad grade for responsiveness). The next week I called in during operating hours and a technician was dispatched for the following Tuesday, with a commitment that the tech would call to schedule a specific arrival time on Tuesday morning. So far, unremarkable. The technician, Rod, called very punctually on Tuesday morning to arrange a time. He ran early, and called ahead to let me know that this was the case. When he arrived, he was very cheerful and professional, clearly knew what he was doing, worked independently, and diagnosed the problem very quickly. It was necessary to order parts, and he promised that Dispatch would call to schedule another visit once the parts were in. The follow-up visit was promptly scheduled, and Rod again exceeded expectations, arriving very promptly, showing a great attitude, and getting the job done in under 30 minutes. I can't comment on the cost of service, because D&T billed Frigidaire directly. The dispatch process was somewhat lackluster. However, I am extremely satisfied with Rod's work and intend to use D&T, and recommend them, because of it.
Description of Work: Warranty repair of new Frigidaire front-loading washer. The bellows tube had split, causing the water to run out when the washer was used.

It all went well. Without first coming out and analyzing the oven, a diagnosis was made on the phone by describing the problems. The oven is working now, hopefully it will continue to work:) They guarantee their work for 6 months, so I feel comfortable that if it repeats the problem they will fix it again for free. I had the 2 items done at separate times, I wasn't sure if replacing the circuit board would correct the clock or not...it didn't so I had to have them out again for that. They did reduce the price of the service visit because it was a 2nd visit on the same unit. Very nice, but perhaps if they would have diagnosed it they would have known ahead of time that the 2 items were not related.
Description of Work: I have a double oven that had an element burn out and it fried the circuit board in the process. I also had to have the clock replaced on it because it was very dim.

The repair was made on site, he had the part in his van, and was very professional and courteous. I had another problem with my 10 year old sub zero refrigerator, one part he didn't have, and the other problem he fixed in about 5 minutes. I used my angies list coupon and saved 10% on labor - and when he returns with my part - the coupon and trip charge will be included in that also. They called when they said they would, and showed up when they said they would. Will use again!
Description of Work: The heating element in my wall mount Viking oven exploded and I needed a new one. Also, had a leak in my sub zero refrigerator.

Our clothes dryer was starting to but strange noises. We called D&T on Monday and arranged to have them come out on Tuesday. The repairman called Tuesday morning to give us the time he was going to arrive.. There was a minor glitch because the person in their office did not have the repair person call the correct number. The repairman was prompt (three minutes early) and was able to diagnose and fix the problem quickly.
