I have 6 windows in the sunporch of my older home (1935) that were installed in the early 1990's. I was no longer able to operate 2 of the windows because the "operator arm" for each window had "stripped out" and needed to be replaced. I could not determine the manufacturer of the windows themselves so I could not contact the window manufacturer. However the hardware on the window was stamped with "Entrygard Truth" so I did some online research to find out a source to replace this hardware. After discovering the Truth Hardware website, that site listed Alco Supply and Service in Minnetonka MN as a source for their replacement hardware. I found the Alco Supply and Service website and contacted their customer service department by email and described my problem They responded in less than 24 hours and asked me to provide some photos and a bit more information, which I did. They promptly diagnosed the problem and sent me specific informative material on the part(s) to be replaced and the prices. I had a few additional questions online and the customer service folks quickly responded and gave me clear answers to those questions too. Because I live in the Twin Cities area I was able to drive to the Alco Supply office and pick up the requisite replacement parts. Dan at Alco assisted me when I visited the office and he was very helpful and informative also. My handyman replaced the defective "operator arms" on the 2 windows that were no longer operating properly with the new parts. I also returned to Alco to get some new "covers" for the crank apparatus on each of the 6 windows too. Alco ships Truth Hardware parts to many areas of the US, so it would be very easy to work with them no matter where you are located. They also sell replacement hardware for doors too. I got great advice and service and was able to resolve my casement window hardware problems with minimal hassle and expense. I highly recommend this business and will certainly contact them again with other window (or door) hardware concerns.
