Very prompt and professional. A&E gave us an 8 A.M-Noon window. Kyle called at 7:30 A.M, saying he'd arrive in about 30 minutes, which he did. He said the unit needed to be replaced, and provided me with an estimate for two model options. I chose the one I wanted and Kyle replaced the unit in a little under an hour. The replacement unit cost was comparable to what I had seen at a home improvement store.
Description of Work: Our garbage disposal became inoperative. We called A&E, which was one of the service providers recommended by the manufacturer's of the disposal customer service group. Upon determining the disposer was not repairable, Kyle replaced the disposer.

The company called quickly and set up an appointment. The service person came at the appointed time and diagnosed the problem quickly and ordered the part on the spot. Another service person from the same company came the following week and installed the new part. He tested the oven to be sure it worked. They were very efficient and professional. (The oven was under warranty, but the work would have cost $165.00.)
Description of Work: They replaced a sensor part in our KitchenAid oven.

The recall work on our dishwasher went well. The work on our washing machine took a few service calls to actually fix the problem which was unfortunate, but it is working well now.

The technician diagnosed the problem and got the microwave up and running quickly (a stuck relay; no parts necessary). He thoroughly explained the problem and let me know that if the problem continued to occur that I would probably need a new circuit board. He left a written quote for the circuit board replacement and only billed for the trip charge amount because of the short amount of time that it took to fix the problem. I thought that that was a very fair outcome. The technician was very professional and answered all of my questions. It was a very good experience overall. The only improvement I could see would be giving the customer an earlier heads-up on the day of service as to the actual time of arrival; that would have given me a more flexibility in planning my day. But, a great overall experience, I would definitely recommend this company.
Description of Work: A&E was recommended as a service provider by Whirlpool for our over the range microwave. The microwave was out of warranty and A&E was one of the recommended service providers on Whirlpool's automated service line. I called A&E's 800 number and had a very pleasant experience setting up the appointment. Their telephone representative walked me through finding the model and serial numbers on the appliance, and in getting a description of the problem. She worked with me to find a day that was convenient for the service call and set up the appointment. She told me on the day of service that the technician would call the number that I had provided to give a time window for his arrival and that if the phone was not answered they would cancel the service call and reschedule. The day before the scheduled service I received an automated call letting me know that the technician would arrive between 8 am and 5 pm. The technician called at 3 pm to let me know he was on the way.

We went through our home warranty and they referred us to A&E. The service person was on-time and knowledgeable. He explained some of the quirks of gas ovens/electric stove tops and the reason that ours was occasionally quitting. He repaired the problem and, after one month, the oven is working perfectly. He was able to confirm payment from our warranty company and did all of the paperwork. The $75 was a deductible.
Description of Work: Repaired our gas oven as it was randomly shutting off.

The only good thing I can say about this experience is that the refrigerator works now. It took forever to get anyone out to fix it, and the price was outrageous for a job that took 15 minutes and one electronic part to diagnose and repair. The repair person did not arrive when he was supposed to, and was not particularly courteous. I have had much better experiences with other appliance repairmen.
Description of Work: Repaired Whirlpool refrigerator. This is the company Best Buy put me in touch with when my fridge stopped working last summer.

Price was for service call. I am disappointed because I called another company and they told me over the phone that they couldn't fix it. A & E was not able to do this and insisted that they have to come out and look just to see if it is something they can fix. Without even looking at the problem the man said it wasn't something he could fix but asked me to pay the $65 trip charge. He informed me that I'd have to pay over $1000 to replace the door just to get the water to work again.
Description of Work: They came and assessed why the refrigerator water was not dispensing.

Souk was on time, very polite, neat, an expert in his profession, and saved us money by checking the dryer before it broke down.
Description of Work: Technician Souk came to repair our Whirlpool washer which no longer agitated. He instantly knew the problem and quickly replaced the coupler. He then cleaned and checked our dryer which was making funny sounds when drying clothes. He found the dryer belt was brittle and cracked and replaced it before it broke. This saved us from making another service call.

WE HAD A PROBLEM WITH OUR DISHWASHER NOT DRYING PROPERLY. WE CONTACTED WHIRLPOOL AS IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND A & E WERE ASSIGNED TO THE REPAIR. IT WAS EASY TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. THE SERVICE REP CAME OUT AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEATING ELEMENT WASN'T WORKING WELL AND ORDERED A NEW PART. HE MADE A NEW APPOINTMENT TO INSTALL WHEN THE PART CAME IN AND SAID TO CALL WHEN IT WAS RECEIVED. THEIR PHONE FOLLOW UP SYSTEM IS EXCELLENT. THEY CALL THE NIGHT BEFORE AND YOU CAN FIND OUT WHERE YOU ARE ON THE LIST FOR THE DAY. THE SERVICE REP CALLS TO LET YOU KNOW YOU ARE NEXT. I HAD SOME CONFUSION ON THE PARTS AND TRIED TO TALK TO THE LOCAL SERVICE REP. I WAS INFORMED THAT I COULDN'T AS THE 800 NUMBER IS A CALL CENTER. WHEN I ASKED FOR THE LOCAL NUMBER, THEY SAID THAT THE LOCAL PERSON WOULD CALL ME. I NEVER RECEIVED THE CALL. WHEN A NEW REP CAME OUT TO FINISH THE REPAIR, HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND EXPLAINED WAYS I COULD REDUCE ENERGY USAGE ON ALL MY APPLIANCES WHICH WAS A NICE BONUS.
