JEFF FUCHS TREE CARE

The company was on my street and just leaving with their trucks as I came home from work. I was approached as I got out of my car and asked if I had any need for tree or shrub work...I said yes and brought them over to look at my trees - they offered to trim limbs away from my garage and the nearby power, phone, and cable wires for $250. I accepted the price, as they could just go right away in to do the job - I added removing a couple of small trees from the neighbors' yard. They knocked on her door to ask her permission. I was very impressed with their work. They disposed of the trimmings in their chipper truck, they cut firewood for me for the extra $25, took away my brush pile, and cleaned up thoroughly. They were very good at teamwork and easy to communicate with during the job. The neighbor across the alley also spoke to them asking about getting work done...another neighbor approached me a couple of weeks later to ask as they also thought they had done very good work! So this was a serendipity situation - and a win/win!

I called them to get an estimate for cutting some trees growing too close to a garage. They came the next day and estimated $150 to cut down a cluster of 3 trees, about 15 feet tall and 20 feet in diameter. They also saw some dead branches in my ash tree and offered to cut them for an additional $25. I was extremely pleased with the service and especially the price! They immediately chipped everything and were very fast and efficient. I had used this company once before when they knocked on the door and offered to prune my ash tree (also for a very low sum). I was so pleased with how the ash tree looked afterward, that I did not hesitate to call them back.

They were quite efficient. They did not quite get all the branches that I thought they were going to get; they said they couldn't get to some of them. They were responsive. I would possibly use them again in the future.

Very, very pleased. JF Tree Care happened through our neighborhood the night of the 2008 Presidential Election and cleaned our gutters and trimmed a needle-y tree last minute. That was the last time our gutters had been cleaned until present - so they were BAD. Little trees growing in them bad. They were able to come out this time the morning after I called. I showed Mike the gutters and the 2 front yard trees needing work, but I wasn't sure what. He was very easygoing and informative, answered all my questions, and really had a mind for homeownership and heading off future problems (thick shrubs pressing against windows and siding, branches growing into gutters, future directional growth). I asked him to go through our yard and make a list of what he would do if he lived here. He gave me a very clear, well-written estimate with each item separated out, and offered a bulk discount. What a relief! Everything he identified needed to be done and he listed things I hadn't thought of but would have regretted forgetting later. Mike and his 3-guy team finished in about 4 hours, were very professional and quick/smart workers, and consulted with us as they worked. They also seemed to have fun together. They stuck to their estimate and cleaned up their work, leaving it much better than when they arrived! They had professional, working equipment. I don't know how they figured out what to do with our trees - I assumed they were permanently uneven - but they now look great and I am not ashamed to drive up anymore! Would definitely recommend them for busy professionals. Would feel perfectly comfortable having them work in my absence, or if I was the only one (female) home. Their consultation was like getting advice from a friend who happened to be in the business - no smarminess, no pressure. Good info and excellent work. We have hired lots of people to do various jobs around our house and these guys are the best! They also got work from 2 neighbors while they were here, and they seemed pleased as well. Will definitely be calling again. As I said - a relief!

Dusty came by and and asked if we wanted our trees trimmed, which we did. Dusty was friendly and easy-going but professional. He gave me an estimate for 5 trees, describing what they would do for each tree. I asked for half an hour, and I checked Angie's list (only one 2010 review, which was an "A"). I also called their office to ask about bonding and insurance, which Angie's list doesn't show them having. They said that they had the papers for both with them, so I asked them to come back. Dusty showed me the papers, to my satisfaction. A crew of three, including owner Jeff Fuchs, worked quickly and efficiently. They worked well as a team, and did exactly what Dusty described. Clean up was great, and I am very pleased with the work. I feel like I got more than my money's worth.

This company has been in the neighborhood several times soliciting work, always in a friendly and cheerful manner. I declined twice but the third time asked for a quote to remove an evergreen. They supplied proof of insurance which I verified with a phone call. As the sun was setting I was skeptical that the work could be done that evening but they assured me it would be no problem. Sure enough, it wasn't! They cut and cleared a full evergreen in under a half an hour and left the yard in decent shape. A few weeks later they returned to grind the stump (I paid separately for these services but they stuck to the agreed-upon price, $75). They left a nice pile of clean mulch. The next time I need trees removed, this company will get the first call.

The crew was working in the neighborhood and soliciting work door to door. My husband described the work he would like done; they stated a price and provided proof of insurance. We were home and able to watch them work. They did a nice job. We paid them on completion of the work.

The whole crew was very professional. They went about their work very quickly. They cleaned up very, very well and hauled all the debris away with them. Jeff, the owner, climbed the tree and went very far out on many large limbs to the reach smaller limbs. I would absolutely use them again and have referred them to a lot of people.

I avoided being taken advantage of by these guys by getting a second quote.
