Builder was over 5 months late is starting the project. Siding from the house that was removed was to be used to side the garage. Workers damaged so much of the siding that we were forced to spend an extra $5,000 to have siding from the front replaced with wood and then used for the garage. Water leaks into the garage and forms a big puddle in the middle when there are heavy rains or snow. One of the garage door openers has a horrible ratcheting sound when used, the other is very quiet. The builder said that was normal when I complained. 6 months after the project we had to have the builder redo the base of the siding as it was not attached properly. At the end of the project when everything was completed, the builder informed us he had a 50% overrun in his estimate. We asked for details on estimate but nothing was ever provided. We had to take legal action to get money back.

Work was never done. We paid $21,000 (over 90% of the project cost) in January & February of 2015 which is what the builder required. In August 2015 when he was going to start the dormer work he asked for more money. We halted any work until we got details on the expenditures for time and materials. No details were ever provided. The builder ignored all letters from us, a complaint to the better business bureau and we were finally forced to get legal representation and file a suit against the builder.

The project was started 3 months late. The 2 workers showed up maybe 3 times a week for about 5 to 6 hrs per day. The finished product left gaps in the wood floor large enough for anything including but smaller than a mouse to fit through. The builder said he assumed we were going to carpet the area. That would solve the problem. There are gaps around the screens that have the same problem and we had to stuff them with rope to keep the wasps and beetles out. It still gets so thick with bugs in the room in the fall that you can't go out there.
