concrete driveways
+ -1 moreDriveway was spalling, stoop settled, and stamped concrete was discolored within the first year. The second year has witnessed worsening of these problems. In 2009 we sued in District Court and won judgement for replacement cost plus legal fees and are now pursuing debt payment through the District Court. This contractor - while a very convincing salesman - has virtually no professional ethics to do projects according to accepted industry codes and standards, and runs from taking personal responsibility to correct his mistakes.
Description of Work: Replaced existing asphalt driveway, front stoop and sidewalk with concrete. Stamped/colored concrete was utilized on stoop, sidewalk and driveway border. The project was done approximately June 2008.

excavators
+ -1 moreLousy. Mike Paczkowski (owner) had written up a proposal and offered us a discounted price if we accepted the quote by the end of the month. Project was estimated to be completed by the end of May. Excavator showed up 7 days into June. He was told by Mike to excavate for a smaller patio than we planned. We called Mike and asked why the size changed and he told us that he made an error and could not install a patio at the size he specified for the price he quoted. We asked if he could review the contact and come up with a revised plan. He said he would call us back and if he could not come up with a new plan, then he would return the money we put down. He did not call us back and has not returned our money. History shows a pattern of issues with customers. He did not appear in small claims court for a claim against him in the Fall of 2006. A customer put $1000 down for a patio and it never was started and Mike never returned the $1000. See Better Business Bureau for details.
Description of Work: Excavation for the project was started but the excavator was told by Mike Paczkowski to prepare a space for a patio that was smaller than the one that was specified when the contract was written up. The cement was never poured and the project was never completed. Just a big hole left in the yard. Mike does not return calls when there are issues and he has a history of not returning money if the project is canceled.

concrete repair
+ -1 moreMichael Paczkowski said he'd need a deposit, so I gave him a $1000 check. And he said he'd start the work on 5/15/07. I'd tried before to contact him and he always said he'd call back because he was busy but never has. He never came back after he got the check. We are now past 5/15/07. A legal letter went to him asking him to reimburse the $1000 or reschedule the work to be completed. So far we've had no response.
Description of Work: He signed a contract to pour concrete stamped surfaces on 4/13/07.

concrete repair
+ -1 moreNot well. Steps are crooked. Did not start steps where they were suppose to so I have an ugly wood board where a step should have been. Did a very messy job repairing side concrete. Used white caulk instead of clear. I have left 2 messages for mike. I am very unhappy with the job & the communication
Description of Work: Take out old steps & sidewalk. Pour new stamped concrete.
