After losing power to one area of my home with no apparent tripped breaker or easy consumer fix, I called Norske to schedule an in-home visit. The phone representative was pleasant and efficient and all subsequent email and text communication reminders and final invoices were well performed. As my outage tied to a non-essential part of the house, there was no urgency. M Friday phone call resulted in a Monday appointment. The tech, Patrick, arrived as scheduled during the appointment window. He was polite, friendly, conversational and well spoken. As the trip charge promotion included a so called whole house electrical evaluation, Patrick spent perhaps 15 minutes surveying the interior and exterior of the home. He then returned to his vehicle to prepare alternative service options. Upon his return he recapped various proposed electrical upgrades and perceived deficiencies that would sort of bring our 60 year old home up to modern standards. Also proposed was the option of signing aboard for some sort of a Service Plan going forward at $10 per month that would result in discounted future visits. The top line service options proposed, that would include repair of our issue AND various additional non-essential optional upgrades, involved an overall expense of north of $2K. Admittedly some of the proposed extras are items that I will absolutely consider in the future. Nonetheless, I rejected the high ticket, ultimate packages and focused only on the issue at hand…..restoration of power to my home. For that issue to be effectively evaluated and repaired, would result in an expense of $654. This dollar amount would provide all necessary diagnostics with unlimited time to resolve. Impacted outlets and/or wired light fixtures would be inspected & evaluated to diagnose the trouble and affect repair. I signed off on this expense. It’s an interesting business model that would potentially charge a consumer a set fee for a repair that could potentially take an hour and a half, OR, take a full day of work. My particular issue was apparently complex and time consuming, as it took Patrick a full 6 hours of time to resolve. While modestly comforting to know that I’d paid a set fee, there is no practical way for a homeowner to fully gauge if a home improvement repair is truly handled skillfully and expeditiously. Patrick seemed knowledgeable and conscientious and worked continuously until nearly 5:30pm. Resolution to my particular power outage issue tied to a couple of impacted power outlets and the contribution from a pesky mouse that had likely met his demise chewing on an outlet wire. Bottom line, I recommend the company, but do be prepared for a soft “up-sell” of additional optional services and the impact of perhaps paying as set fee for more complex diagnostic work, regardless of duration of the job. For more simple repairs, one can potentially opt for a skilled handyman with an electrical skill set. For more complex work, Norske is a good option. Thanks to Patrick for his time and effort and the unexpected pest removal.

They were friendly and professional- from the office person to the electrician on site. They were able to get me scheduled quickly (the next morning!). The electrician did a great job assessing & explaining & did the job in a thorough and timely way. I’ll definitely recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Everything went okay. Was surprised at the overall high cost for such a simple job. But not much you can do when you sink $75 just to have someone quote. The whole experience of having to prepay for any electrical quote is frustrating…but that’s how they are able to do business.

I would hire again. Prompt, professional, friendly and reasonably priced. Did a great job in our kitchen light replacement project. Definitely recommend.

It was a great experience working with Norske Electric from start to finish. Brevik was able to give me a quote over text after I sent him photo of our circuit breaker box. We needed 41 electrical outlets, 16 light switches replaced & a new outlet installed in the garage. He scheduled 2 electricians about 6 weeks out & responded to our questions promptly. Cameron & Juan arrived on time & were very organized & methodical in assessing the work of the day & in clarifying our plans. They offered information & were knowledgeable about the proper height for our dining room chandelier while always affirming personal preferences. They advised us about purchasing light fixtures for our utility & laundry rooms. We have an additional project which involves removing wood paneling from our family room walls. They offered to take the paneling off in the areas where we need electrical outlets installed or to return after the building contractor has removed the paneling which would be less costly. They completed this work in a day & were very easy to have in our home. We will hire them again in the next few months to complete installations of outlets & light fixtures. We will recommend Norske Electric to family & friends.

Good communication before the project started. All work completed within the hour. (There should have been a fixture with a pull chain on the truck, but there wasn't so I was told I wouldn't be charged for the time it took to pick one up). I was told that the ($197, I think-not looking at my notes) trip charge would cover the first hour of work, and all was done within that hour - I have not yet received the bill.

Perfectly. Arrived on time and quickly finished. He was respectful of Covid restrictions. I chose Norske because they were upfront about cost. Job came in a bit under their estimate.

Amazing! Brevik diagnosed both of my problems over the phone! I had no power in my garage; no circuit breaker correlated with the circuit, but he directed me to look for a GFCI that was tripped somewhere in the house (it was in the laundry room). The other problem was related to LED lights on the same circuit; when one flickers as it fails, it can damage another one. Norske Electric & Brevik will definitely be on my speed dial next time I need electrical work!

I would highly recommend Norske Electric. I was very impressed by their professionalism in communication. They were quick to respond to inquiries, emails, and phone calls. Work was completed in a timely and quality manner right on schedule. I had them first wire a 220V outlet for an electric dryer and provide a bid for a new panel install. I waited 2 years to pull the trigger on the panel and they honored their original quoted price when I was finally ready. When their was a mix-up with Xcel Energy, Norske covered the full cost which was completely outside of the contract and was not their responsibility to cover. Overall great service, great people, and great business to work with. 6 out of 5 stars!

Success, turns out I had another line plugged into the same circuit which provided heat to my gutters. This line was bad and was tripping my GFI.
