The project went very. DMJ was easy to work with and their workers advised us on potential changes to the scope of work that even lowered our bill.

They were great. Everything was done quickly.

A nightmare to work with. Contract was contingent on work completed by a specific date and time. They finished one day late. They dispute the work was late as was to be completed by the 25th and they completed it on the afternoon of the 25th but given the reason I needed the work done and the completion date we agreed upon it was done late. I made it clear at contract signing that I needed it done, finished, completed before the morning of the 25th. Terrible at returning calls. More than one scheduled date for work in which they didn't show up and didn't call. Several times work was rescheduled to accomodate another customer that somehow jumped ahead of me in the queue.

From estimating to finish it went great! I have had several quotes done from various firms, starting in 1990 , and this was one of the most economical quotes I have received in that time. DMJ kept in contact with me about the start date (turned out to be on Saturday 10/16) and completion date (Monday 10/18). Everything I asked for was taken care of. The only 2 small "bumps" in the process was a delay of a few days getting Gopher One to mark underground utilities and the other was that the roller operator during the paving process (in attempting to get the best leveling of the edge of the asphalt to the concrete garage floor) left some scratch marks on the newly Epoxy painted garage floor that I needed to touch up (caused by the roller repeatedly going into and out of the garage stahl). I would recommend laying some cardboard sheets or thin plywood down to avoid that problem.

I called for an estimate and they were out the next day. The gentleman doing the estimate was very polite and explained things well. I was advised that they were running a little behind due to all the rain we've had this summer. He gave me an approximate date which was about a month out. This turned out to be fairly accurate - only off by about 3 days. The driveway looks great and we were very pleased with their service.

They were great and they went above and beyond. We spent $4500 on that work. They did an absolutely beautiful driveway for us and had to do it from extra rings to make it look as good as it does. It was more than just a double driveway and it had an extra section at the side, so it was a double driveway and a pad off the side. They needed to remove the old stuff and part of it was concrete and part of it was asphalt and they removed all of that. It ended up being more than they anticipated and they very well could have asked for more in expense, but they did not and shouldered the cost on it. They put in an absolutely gorgeous driveway and we were really impressed with them and they were great. We had three estimates and theirs was right in the middle and we thought that their pricing was very fair. They held to their offer, even though they had a cause and they did not do it.

Called to get information on having my driveway sealed. Was told they do not start that till June. I asked if I could at least get an est on the work. She replied "lady can't you wait till June to do your research. Then she hung up on me.

I got a discount as even my neighbors also got work done by them at same time. They were a bit expensive. I was impressed by how they laid the base work carefully and thoroughly before putting the asphalt on. They did a beautiful job. They splashed some oil on a part on my driveway. They paid a special price to get it taken out and repaired it.

I have never done this service before and I was nervous about someone slopping the tar up on our house which is right next to the drive. But the crew that did this job was meticulous in their work and I would definitely use them again. My only advice to someone else doing this for the first time is to close your windows, because there must be a giant cloud of dirt when they blow the driveway clean.

They did a really good job and were punctual. They finished the job on time. They weren't in our way while they did the work. They cleaned up after they finished the work.

They seemed to be on time and got the job done fairly quickly. The workers that did the job were good and the salesperson was okay too, who provided the estimate.

We got quick service right away. The service was good. The driveway is holding up nicely and I like it better than other driveways I've seen.

I picked DMJ after three estimates. Their price was right in the middle of the other two and I had heard of their company before. The estimate seemed complete to me, but I am not a paving contractor so I believed that what they quated me would leave me with a quality product, I trusted them to do what was rigth to complete the job. The original estimate was done several weeks earlier, then the weather turned cold and rainy, late October. It was finally completed the 3rd week in October when temperatures were just above 40 degrees and the ground was quite wet from al of the recent rain. The driveway had never been paved before, 54 years, so it was firm in some places and very soft in others. DMJ's estimator told me the scope of work would involve leveling off the main part of the driveway and subcutting the soft areas and backfilling with class 5 rock. They told me their asphalt was MNDOT approved. They being the experts I belived that what they told me and had me sign off on on the contract would be sufficient work to provide a driveway that would last the lifetime of their warranty. I followed their instructions prior to and after the work to the letter including not driving or parking on it, banking in around the edges with dirt and sod, etc. The first problem occured this past winter when the driveway heaved 1/2 inch in from of the garage floor slab. this trapped melted snow and salt on the garage floor as it had no way to drain away from the floor. This, DMJ said is normal, however I have never seen it happen to anyone elses driveway. The second problem came early in the spring and continues. No matter where I park a car in the driveway it leaves depressions in the surface of the drivveway. Especially in the before mentioned soft area of the driveway. If a car is parked anywhere near the edge of the driveway the edge is crushed. The depressionss are as great as 1/2 inch deep. Recently I parke a travel trailer in the driveway for 16 hours and it left a tear and depression 3/4 inches deep. The third problem is the edge of the driveway. The entire driveway was poured above grade anywhere from 3 to 6 inches above the original yard. They beveled off the edge to taper down to grade. Now this beveled edge is falling off around the entire perimeter of the driveway. Again, DMJ says this is normal. However, I have never seen this before and the hundreds of asphalt driveways in my neighborhood don't seem to have any of these issues either. DMJ says that they fulfilled their contract. Yes the one I signed. Had I known, if they had told me that the contract I was signing was for a driveway that was not prepared properly I certainly would not have signed it. They sent an "Expert" out to look at my driveway when they knew I would not be home . I specifcally told DMJ not to send anyone out until I was there to witness the inspection. All DMJ sent me was this so called expert's scanned copies of an asphalt manual and his opinion of how the driveway looked. After several attempts to get DMJ to the repair, replace or refund me for this driveway, the owner, Kari, emailed me and told me, "Good luck with yoiur ridiculous crusade."

Very detailed description of what they would do. Price was higher than other estimates but, felt the work might be more professional. Driveway repair would probably last longer.

The salesperson did a great job of answering questions and responding to last-minute tweaks with suggestions and new pricing. Crew (excavation and asphalt) were quick, professional, and great at answering questions, plus making sure I knew how best to protect the new driveway going forward. The office assistance I was less impressed with. For scheduling, I tried to regularly check on schedule--- noted on their contract as part of their process--- not always receiving call-backs, and then received a last-minute call one morning that they were ready to start in the afternoon. Though grateful they were able to fit me in because of a late-breaking opening, I would have appreciated a heads-up our driveway was nearing the top of the list. During the excavation for the expansion, the crew drew too close to the house and nicked a piece of my wood siding. The excavation crew lead was very good about informing me of the issue and taking accountability on behalf of DMJ, w/ assurances that the foreman on the asphalt crew would address it when they came out. Unfortunately, given the nature of the siding, correcting the issue required a full replacement of a 6' x 4' section. The asphalt foreman was knowledgeable, agreed on the corrective action, and was quick to assure me DMJ would stand by fixing it; however, I was disappointed when informed it was solely up to me to identify vendors, get estimates, and personally do the follow up w/ the DMJ office. Estimate in hand, it again took a few calls on my part for the office contact to reply back. Once connected, DMJ did contact my preferred vendor & agreed to the price. Then the office contact suggested DMJ "step out of the middle" and just have me deduct the $ amt from their bill after which I could work w/ the siding vendor directly--- "simplest for everyone in these situations," I was told. I agreed to the arrangement (though not the reasoning nor responsibility) as I'd already invested too much time--- including negotiating a better price on the siding, despite it not being on my dime. Bottom line, I just needed it fixed, and my siding vendor was ready to go. While this ended up working out fine--- my siding vendor did a great job-- I was disappointed at the office staff's apparent desire to not own this through resolution. Given past work w/ DMJ (2 other very nice driveways) and quick accountability shown by both crews, I would hope had there been an issue, they would have stepped back in. It's a testament to the other service areas (vs. the office interactions) that we'd consider using them again. We do like the new driveway extension, got a fair price for a quality job and... it was installed before Fall, which was the goal. All in all, still glad I went w/ DMJ.

Everything was well done. They worked around our schedule. I would hire them again in the future.

They were the best priced of all the service providers. They did a very good job. We hardly knew they were here. We had a few sink holes underneath the garage floor and they reinforced those with concrete brick.

Dave gave me an estimate. He is professional and courteous. However, his price is too high.

They were awesome. They nicked a power line and they reimbursed me for the work needed to repair it. They were a great company to work.

They did a good job and the guy they sent out to do the estimate was professional and personable. The price was a little higher than expected, but he had called and told me about a problem they discovered in advance and I okayed that work.

The company was prompt, reliable, flexible and fair. The work they did was exceptional. We fully recommend DMJ in every way.

DMJ was one of three contractors who provided a quote. They were the cheapest (though only by a small margin). The specifications from their quote appeared to match the spec's in the other quotes and they had a favorable Angie's List review history. It took some time on our end to make a decision and even though I called past the 30 day validity for the quote, they stood by the price. They came out to confirm measurements and scheduled the job. It took a few weeks from them to get out and get started (weather was a challenge) and they were a bit hard to pin down as to when they would arrive to remove the driveway. They did show up on the date committed to, albeit earlier than expected. Installing the new driveway was a second visit more than a week later but again they arrived on the day stated (date only given one day earlier). Work done well and as explained in the materials left behind when purchasing - there were no surprises.
