Total Comfort

Great products - we bought a Trane 97% efficiency furnace and a new Trane AC from them through Home Depot. The service was great and the new products have transformed the comfort in the house (replacing the original 1986 set). Quality was great. Install was thorough. Worth the cost - I'm not sure how competitive the price was, but the workmanship and ease makes it worthwhile.

Requested a quote on an air conditioner replacement. Sales tech came out in a few days, and appeared to be very knowledgeable. The problem was he was intent on selling a heating and cooling system. He stated the cold air return was undersize, one of the worst he had seen. Many other problems with my current furnace. I informed him that the time was not right for me to replace the system. Nevertheless, he left leaving a system quote. I called later advising I was not buying a system, and set up an appointment for an air conditioner only quote. He did come out again and gave me a quote. He was the highest of four quotes.

Total Comfort is a one stop shop providing excellent products, expertise, and service. They are very easy to work with and delivered on every promise on a timely basis. Additionally, they were very respectful of our home and garden conditions, insuring that they left us in the same condition as when they came. I'd recommend these folks for your home system needs. It's great to have one company to call/work with when you need help!!!!

Used Total Comfort because they are the Home Depot contractor for HVAC. The estimator spent a lot of time with us and made reasonable product and configuration recommendations. (I did not rate the company on price, as I didn't obtain any competitive estimates.) Once we made a decision to proceed with the job, installation was scheduled for three days later. We were impressed with the installation team for the following reasons: 1. They started early (7:30 a.m.) and worked all day (6 p.m.), until the job was complete. They didn't even take a lunch break. 2. They were very clean and left the house without a trace of them having been there. 3. They explained how the equipment worked. Overall, very happy with the experience.

On 12/19/2012 I noticed our water heating leaking (couple months after the warranty ran out). A friend recommended Total Comfort. After researching on the internet for a few hours I called Total Comfort and talked with their salesman (Steve). Steve is very knowledgeable and asked all the right questions. How long we would be staying in the house, what our hot water needs are (we have a whirlpool tub) and anything under 70 gallon may not be enough? We also talked about the other alternatives, electric and tank-less. The return on the cost of a tank-less is about 20 years and I preferred gas over electric. After discussing with Steve we settled on a 75 gallon Rheem gas water heater with the anode rod for longer life. The warranty is 2 years labor and 12 years parts. They could fit the install into their schedule within 2 days was very appreciated as I didn't want to go into the Christmas week with a leaking water heater. Steve and the installer were very professional. The installer showed up on time, didn't make a mess getting the old water heater out or the new one in. There was no mess left in the installation area. The water heater is performing as expected and we have not had a shortage of hot water. We may have spent a little more than planned but great service goes a long way in my book. Over all we are extremely pleased with this purchase and would recommend Total Comfort to anyone with appliance needs. Loren Pietrzak

the installers arrived on time. They were clean and efficient. they explained what they were doing and why. They answered all of our questions. they completely cleaned up after the job was done.

My mother was a seventy four years old at the time her A/C unit needed to be replaced. In the past my mother has really struggled with contractors not performing the work agreed upon, poor craftsmanship or installing inferior equipment. She called Total Comfort, because they were located near her home, and made sure that I would be for the appointment. Steve came out to my mother's house and spent a lot of time learning how she uses both the heating and cooling in her house. Steve also spent a lot of time finding out how well her current furnace and the old A/C unit performed and what improvements if any she would like out of a new system. Steve then inspected my mother house and returned with all the problems he found. Her returned duct work was undersized, the a/c coil was the wrong size and the heat exchanger in her furnace was cracked. I thought to myself here we go. Steve took me on a tour of my mothers house explaining everything showing me the cracks in the heat exchanger, the bracket that was installed to hold the under sized a/c coil restricting the airflow through what he called the plenum (the large square supply air duct that connects to the furnace) and finally pointing out the return duct was under sized. He further explained that the size of the return duct was normal for the period when her house was built but not the standard of today. But there was no excuse for the size of the a/c coil and the combination of the two created some real inefficiencies. He presented my mother with several options and possible solutions. After a long discussion of what was right for her, she decided to purchase a new furnance and a/c system. My mother she was floored that the price for a the new Trane system plus the extra return duct work would be lower than the cost of her furnace replaced just 15 years ago. The installation was quick and the installers were very professional. She has been thru all four season and she can't stop talking to everyone about how happy she is with her new furnace and a/c. This is why am writing this review and I really can't say enough about Total Comfort and would recommend Total Comfort to anyone.

It was all do fast. In and out. Clean and on time

We woke up on a cold morning to find our furnace making a loud screeching noise. We called and Total Comfort sent a service tech (Mitch) out who was at our home within an hour or two. After examining our furnace, he said that he had fixed it enough so that it wasn't making any noise but the issue was going to be quite expensive to fix. We decided to have a consultant out to give us a bid on a new, more efficient system. Steve came to our house a couple of days later. He spent a lot of time learning how we use both the heating and cooling in our house. He presented us with several options and solutions. He was fair and honest. We purchased a complete Trane system. The system we bought qualified us for a free ipad! The installers came the following week. They were also very professional and kind. Ean and Keith, layed tarps down from the door all the way to the utility room. The completely explained the process to us and made sure we understood how long everything was going to take. They left the utility room nice and clean. The new system is warm and quiet. I can't wait to see the difference this summer with the new AC. Thanks to Total Comfort.

Total Comfort came in to do the regular check up on the heater and water heater... What they found was not good!!! Lets start with 2 inches of water in the bottom of the heater! And a water heater that was leaking... The first tech was able to get the water out of the heater and order the part to fix the problem... He also arranged for the water heater to be replaced. About a week late everything was fixed, the old water heater was taken away and the area was left clean! I had let my service agreement laps, I will not do that again!

Job was simple, so not much to say. Furnace was inspected and cleaned. Gave good advice on what can be done to reduce dust, better distribute heat, and increase efficiency. Would use them again.

Total Comfort installed an air exchanger for us in 2008. The insulation around the vent through the garage was sagging. Yes, I was told that there may be a $99.95 service call charge. However, Scott was in my garage for five minutes when he told me the sagging was normal. I asked him to look at the air exchanger in the basement and he said he guessed I should get something for my $99. He had no appointments for the rest of the day (he was done here at 1 pm). I asked if some of the charge could be applied to future work on a dryer vent and was told that wasn't possible. I feel that as a repeat customer some accommodation was in order. UPDATE: After speaking with service manager, the service charge was reduced. She also addressed my concerns in a satisfactory manner. I changed my ratings as a result.

We went with the midline unit and it was in partnership with a hardware store where we were able to do a 24 month finance contract. So far, we've enjoyed the consultation we had with them here at the home, they showed us all kinds of options. They showed us what a new furnace could do for us as well as an AC because we had to replace the AC when the compressor went out. They took about an hour and a half with us, walked through all the different options and outlined what we could do now and what we could do in the future by purchasing a tran unit as opposed to one of the other two options they had. It did take a second consultant to come out, we were satisfied with the first one because he wasn't very personable.

They installed an air conditioning unit with condenser and a coil and humidifier at my home. They also had to put in new electrical and plumbing at my home for the unit. They did a nice job. I was very impressed with the service they provided.

The experience went very good, and I would use them in the future.

They explained everything effectively throughout the entire process. They did a beautiful job. They had to come back out to make sure everything was working properly. The woman at the office was also very nice and informative. She answered all of my questions or she would have someone follow up with me. Multiple guys came throughout the process and they were very considerate. They made sure to cover their shoes while in our home. They were also nice to my dog and kids. I had to purchase a door stopper to prevent the door from banging onto the water heater. They installed the door stopper as a courtesy when I was not looking. I loved them! Anytime we need any of their services, I will definitely call them. They were also very knowledgeable. We have been so happy with our tank. We even signed up for their preferred customer program.

We purchased a furnace tuneup groupon from another company and sure enough they found a crack in the heat exchanger of our old furnace. I wanted to shop around for quotes on a new furnace so I got in touch with Steve Hawes of TC comfort who had given me a quote earlier in the year on a new furnace. I remembered he was very thorough in his estimate and even had affordable options to improve our cold basement. After comparing updated quotes, I decided to go with TC Comfort because their overall solution to improve airflow in the house (basement especially) and install a new furnace was most affordable and most importantly i felt very comfortable with Seve who was very responsive and seemed knowledgeable about improving the overall comfort in our home. Steve also went the extra mile to make TC Comfort bid attractive by upgrading the thermostat and providing excellent warranty on labor. I also liked the fact that we were able to sign the contract on Wednesday and schedule the installation the next week on Monday the week after thanksgiving was great. The crew arrived promptly on Monday at 8am to install the furnace. They were neat and worked efficiently and we able to finish the job by around 4pm. They even helped fix a couple of other vent issues in the basement at no extra cost. They answered all my questions and gave me a demo of the the new furnace and thermostat. I really liked their work and shortly after turning on the furnace we could immediately feel the difference in air quality and comfort of the home. We couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome of the project as the basement feels much more comfortable and the humidity levels in the house and overall temperature feel great. The furnace is also much quieter than our hold one and we really like that. I have already discussed with Steve doing more work in our basement to make it even more comfortable. I would highly recommend this company for their excellent customer service, great ideas for improving airflow (Steve was great) and great Trane products.

I was totally unsatisfied. Another company said my furnace was in perfect shape so I was turned off and I will not use Total Comfort ever again.
