I called at the last minute and needed the work done the next day. They said "no problem" and did the job.

The technician was early and called ahead to make sure it was convenient for me. That was fine. He did a thorough inspection including the camera, but when it came time to pay the bill, he had a different price for the promotion than I did from Angie's list. He corrected it without a problem. However, after he left, I noticed that there were soot marks and handprints all over my painted fireplace.

It was a great experience. I had received 2 other bids that were incomplete and more expensive for the pieces they were going to do. I was really impressed that John bid the complete project and there were no surprises. The other bids left many places for overruns so I would never have been sure of the final cost. It would have definitely been quite a bit more when the job was done. It was right before Thanksgiving and John said he would get his crew on the job right away so we could enjoy the fireplace before the holidays. They started right away and finished the whole process in days. The chimney looks great and the fires in the fireplace are warm and inviting and burn so good with the outside air intake. I would highly recommend London Chimney Sweeps for all your needs.

It took a few weeks for us to find a time that fit our schedule. They arrived at the scheduled time. They cleaned and inspected the chimney. They also emailed pictures of their findings from the inspection. The entire service went well. This has been the second time we have used this company for this service. We have been happy with the results both times.

High level of professionalism in work and communication. Provided good advice on use and care of fireplace and accessories. Took excellent care to protect floors and nearby furnishings while cleaning. Called ahead to notify us of 1/2 hour delay in arriving. Very pleased with experience!

I used London before from the great Check Book and BNI member ratings. They bid the same work for under $5000. Then they came up with another suggestion to keep the integity of the house and plaster with a quality repair. The job was done in plenty of time to close the sale. Everything was left clean and the fireplace works great. Everyone was happy!

Overall I was very happy with the company, individual and service performed. Derek was very professional and communicated/assessed in a way that built trust. He went on top of the roof (which was no small task) and found that the cap was a little rusty/bent, but after further looking he felt it was ok for 1-2 more years. I appreciated that as it didn't feel like he was trying to sell....he had my best interest in mind. He also said the chimney was top of the line pre-fab so if I burned the same amount of wood, I could maybe wait for a similar timeframe to clean again. That also felt like he had my best interest in mind versus just adding more service calls. Derek had some minimum travel delays, but called and let me know he would be a little late. (wasn't more than 30min and was in the morning rush hour). In looking around the price was not as low as a few others but I didn't go w/ them as I wasn't sure of the service quality (important to me they go up on the roof and look). Derek also did a great job to ensure things were cleaned and no traces left after he was done. Great service - I will hire them again. Derek did a great job.

Simple job to clear it out. Charged what they told me in advance--regular cost although they came on a Saturday.

The tech was courteous and knowledgeable, and due to his willingness to try to repair my chimney by reaching inside from the top, it saved quite a bit of money in repairs or having to get an expensive liner. I would definitely use this company again.

I noticed moisture and drippage in my garage from around the chimney. Having used London Chimney for chimney cleaning before, I contacted them to get an estimate. John (the owner) came out and inspected. He gave me a verbal description and, later, emailed an estimate. The price fit my budget and, based, on the prior experience with them, I agreed to have them do the work. The workers came out and did the work over a couple of days. I was (and am) pleased with the workmanship and the how the chimney and cap came out. I did find some roof shingles and other debris on the ground after the work, so the 'cleanup' could have been better. it looks like some of the debris came out of the gutters/downspout, so I assume this was during their cleaning off the roof and testing the work. The debris was not excessive; However, it was noticeable. This is why I graded the quality at 'B'

The previous owners of our home arranged and paid for the chimney cleaning and caps service due to inspection issues, with the understanding that we would contact this company once we moved in (something about not being allowed to clear bats or birds out of chimneys). I contacted this company once we moved in, left an extensive voicemail on a weekday, and never heard back from them. My real estate agent had to contact the seller's agent to get the ball rolling with this company. After 2 weeks, I called again, and they agreed to come out to do the work. When the service guy appeared at my home, he took some pictures of the chimneys and told me that the flue liners were so deteriorated that he could not cap the chimneys. He told me that for another $900, he would replace the cracked chimney and flue liners. I told him that his company should have inspected the chimneys and should have noticed this problem at the time they agreed to accept payment from the previous owners of our home, and that I was not agreeing to pay any additional amount. He then agreed to add some silicone to strengthen the liners and ended up being able to cap the chimneys after all, without adding more cost. He told me our chimney situation was "a horror story." Ultimately, I think his work was fine, and he cleaned and capped the chimneys as promised, but the process was unnecessarily difficult and stressful. Update 10/2/2012: They called me and harassed me because I submitted a negative review.

The work was very good. Everything was very positive. They completed the work and they were on time for the appointment, I was satisfied with everything.

They charged $200 for inspecting 2 chimneys. They told me what they found and told me that there were no big issues. I was actually going to have my chimney rebuilt and they told me to point the problems out to the company I hire to rebuild my chimney and they should be able to fix them.

Everything went really well, they were clean, efficient and the price they quoted us was what we paid so that was good.

I like them. They are on time. The guy who comes out and who is the owner is talkative and friendly. He cleans the mess, checks the chimney and tells me the condition it is in and luckily it is in great condition. I would refer them to others. His price is comparable.

I liked their timeliness; they were very quick by the time I got my estimates when the service was performed.

Cathleen & John were great! They were prompt at returning my initial phone call and scheduled an estimate right away. Their visit to give me the estimate was pleasant (put me at ease, as I know nothing about chimneys), and quick. They new exactly what needed to be done from one look. They gave me an estimate immediately, while they were on-site, and followed up with an email estimate. John & Cathleen explained what exactly was included in that estimate both on-site and via email. We scheduled date, but a few days before, I got a call & email that London Chimney's schedule had freed up a bit and they could fit me in sooner if I liked. After confirming that I didn't need to be home for the work to be done (half day project), they fit me in that very day! I arrived home, and aside from the new chimney and a re-shuffling of my patio furniture, it looked like no one had been there- the job site was cleaned up, the grass looked untouched, etc. I also Very impressive! I'm awaiting the bill, which is being mailed to me, but anticipate no issues with that.

They were prompt and had convenient scheduling. They had reasonable pricing and were very clean. They also have digital equipment that shows you what needs to be repaired.

He was very good. He spotted a couple minor issues in our other wood burning stove, and repaired them before they could become bigger issues. He did the work in a timely manner. He was very prompt and came the next day.

Moved into our new place that had a fire place. Knew nothing about our fireplace, so we needed an inspection and cleaning. We assumed it did not have a steel liner in the chimney so we made an appointment for the camera inspection and masonry cleaning, which is a higher price service. They came out and did the camera inspection and informed us we had the steel lining and the price was reduced. They made us feel very confident about actually using our fireplace and we will use London Chimney Sweeps again.

They seem to do a good job. They were also on time. They were just good in everything.

They came out rather quickly during a busy time. They were on time and they did a good job. They were quick and clean. Their price was competitive.

The job exceeded our expectations. We first requested to just have the crumbled top bricks replaced but John Cordes suggested a top stone layer and to have the brick layers underneath to bevel out to differ water. Due to the location of the chimney (above a sunroom) and the height, scaffolding was needed which we already knew would add to the cost. The stone top matches the stone around the foundation and brick used also matched existing brick. It looks much better compared to even before the brick crumbled and has a more finished, polished quality. The two individuals that worked on our chimney were very cordial, professional, and ernest in doing quality work. They were very concerned about matching existing brick and also kept me informed of what they were doing, products used, etc. Job site was well picked up after they were done.

It took a long time to book the service which was inconvenient for us. The repair itself was fine.
