Description of Work: I couldn't get them to call me back

Description of Work: Gierstens is an outstanding company in every respect, from outstanding communication to careful, excellent workmanship as well as exceptional followup and thoroughness. They are a real "band of angels"!

Description of Work: This company was used to remediate an accident in our home. The services were paid for by the insurance company of the contractor who made the mistake in our home, so we did not pay the company. I am not sure if I would hire them again. They were professional and responsive but the work was mediocre.

Description of Work: My rental townhouse caught fire , upper level needed to be gutted down to the studs. |I couldn't be happier with the end result. Greg did a fantastic job dealing with my insurance company and Jim did an excellent job as project foreman. This project went very smooth from start to finish.

Description of Work: Price is a non-issue in my case because my homeowners' insurance paid. The crew that came to install the dryer units to remove the water damage from the upper floor of my house did a really good job. So did the floor and drywall repair guys. My issue was that during the entire 2-3 week project Giertsen's project manager never once returned my phone call. Not a single time did he respond to a question, or re-confirm which day or time someone would be coming by to start the next step of the work. For example, after the dryers had been working for 3 days I called to find out when they'd come by to remove them because as far as I could see everything was perfectly dry (this was during the peak of summer, so you can imagine how hot my house felt, to live in). No response. One day I come home from work, and Walla! There is a guy removing the dryers! OK, fine I say. At least they are doing the work. But this is how the entire project went. When will you sand the floors? When will you stain it? When will the drywall repair start downstairs? And the re-painting ? No response ever. Finally, all the work was done, and that was the end of the story. But I did not like the professionalism extended to me.

Description of Work: TWO YEARS AGO THE TRIPLEX I LIVED IN SUFFERED A MAJOR HOUSE FIRE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY PUT GIERTSEN'S IN CHARGE OF SMOKE DAMAGE/RESTORATION OF OUR POSSESSIONS, AS WELL AS REBUILDING/REPAIRING THE MAIN DWELLING.

Description of Work: THEY REPAIRED OUR CEILING FROM WATER DAMAGE AND THEY PAINTED OUR INTERIOR WALLS.

Description of Work: SECTION OF HOUSE RE-ROOFED DUE TO WATER LEAK. INTERIOR CEILING REPAIRED AND REPAINTED.

Description of Work: MY FRONT DOOR AND FRAME WAS DAMAGED DURING A BREAK-IN. GIERTSEN IS A 'RESTORATION SPECIALIST' RECOMMENDED BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY. THEY REMOVED AND HAULED AWAY THE ENTIRE DOOR, SIDE WINDOW AND FRAME FROM THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE. THEY INSTALLED A NEW FRAME AND DOOR WITH SIDE WINDOW, PAINTED EVERYTHING (INSIDE AND OUT) TO MATCH THE ORIGINAL, INSTALLED NEW TRIM AROUND THE DOOR ON THE INSIDE OF THE HOUSE, STAINED THE TRIM, AND RE-INSTALLED AND RE-INFORCED THE LOCKS.
