The Fan and A-Coil is located in the attic with the Condenser located outside which made it a little more difficult for the installers. Derick and Dustin did a fabulous job. They suggested a plan to route the pipping as to conceal it as much as possible in our lower patio area. We are very pleased with the results. They were very professional and courteous. Justin Graff, the estimator, provided us with all the information we needed to make our decision on the install. A huge Thank You to Justin and his crew.

Perfect! Justin Graff arrived on time and we reviewed what was in place (installed by Flare in 2005) and what I wanted. Justin provided sensible, effective feedback for changes to our lower level duct work which has, upon completion, resulted in better airflow than I originally hoped for. Overall, the installation was done very nicely. Flair installed our current HVAC system and we're happy to have them back when we need any HVAC work.

I wasn't there, but my wife was home. They fixed the problem. It made some noise after they were done. So I had to go back in there, and put something in there to stop it from making so much noise. They came on time and fixed it.

They are the only company in town that can fix my type of furnace. They are technically quite competent. One of the few companies that knows about zone heating.

Got home from work about 3:15 PM on a Monday. Turned up the furnace. After 1.5 hours the temperature in the house only incremented a couple degrees. It was like the furnace for some reason was not kicking into high. I tried resetting and looking at diagnostic lights but nothing looked unusual. I purchased my furnace and AC from Flare with a 10 year warranty and have paid for a service contract. I called FLARE at 4:45 PM. The person I talked to on the phone said they were in critical only. He also started quoting after hours of hundreds of dollars an hour and large costs for any repairs. When I mentioned my service contract he said wow, that's a good deal. He did not seem to have any interest in providing any service nor providing any advice. I will see what happens tonight with my furnace. I expect a lot more.

This company made a terrible experience (having our furnace go out on the coldest day of the year!) a little less painful. Even though the furnace we went with was expensive, they were able to install it the same day. Sam, who gave us the quote, was very knowledgeable and professional. Mike, the installer, could not have been nicer and with over 30 years installing furnaces, I feel extremely confident in his work. Ironically, he was the same person to install the original furnace 20 years ago! Thank you Flare. i now know who I will call with any HVAC concerns.

Was quoted that the service call would be $125. The person who came out to the house graduated 2 weeks before. He didnt know how to service the Air Conditioner to get the humidity down in the house. Of the hour he was at the house he spent 50 minutes of the time on the phone with his boss trying to find the issue. The service rep told me I needed a Dehumidifier. That cant be the case because that is essentially what an AC unit is. I was very displeased. The man told me the service would be $175 which I refused to pay because it was not what I was quoted and nothing was done at all. I ended up paying $125 but I was furious.

They did an awesome job. They installed the high efficiency furnace. The workers were awesome. The inspector that came said they did a really good job. It took a couple of days to complete but the weather made it a little longer. They showed up at the exact time they said they would be here. He also installed a humidifier within the furnace.

Everything went fine. I've had Flare out 3-4 times in the past 6 years. I consider Flare an honest business that doesn't try to sell you something you don't need. They installed my Carrier 80% standard single speed furnace in Jan 2008. They were the lowest bid - $1,970. Just before that, I'd gotten a coupon in the mail from a competitor advertising a $49 furnace tune up. That sounded great, but was just a bait & switch to get into your home and try and sell a new furnace and other services. That company actually came out and quoted me $3,200 on an Amana 80% 2 speed furnace. I thought that was high, so I called two other companies. Flare quoted me $1,970 for a Carrier single speed. Greg the sales person explained a 2 speed would probably save me $1-$2 a month during the winter in my condo but cost a few hundred more and was not worth it for me. Yes, they charged me $109 to come out and not $49 but that coupon experience taught me nobody is going to come out to your home for $49 unless its a bait and switch. When I told the Flare service person (Wayne?) this story today, he told me the company who did that is now out of business. My heat bill with the new Flare furnace is usually around $25-$35 in the winter since I got the new furnace from Flare and that's with the thermostat around 69-71..

The installer was fast, friendly and professional

They were very responsive and informative. The benefits of various furnace models were explained to us and we were not pushed toward any particular purchase. The installation was done quickly and neatly, and we've been very happy with the furnace.

I responded to an Angie's List Deal and purchased the deal for $479. This was about $200 less than other vendors that I had researched for the same product. I wanted a digital control system that automatically adjusts the level of humidity to the outside temperature. I contacted the contractor and arranged for this option as an add-on. The installer arrived on-time and everything was clean and professional. However, in the middle of that night, the furnace quit working and I awoke to a 55 degree home. I have two gas fireplaces, so it was not a dire emergency. I contacted Flare and they arranged for a technician to come out later that day. In the meantime, I recycled the furnace controls and checked the new wiring. The furnace turned on. The technician arrived and checked the installation. He tightened some connections but could find nothing amiss and could not diagnose the cause of the furnace malfunction. I don't know it the cause of the furnace malfunction was loose wiring in the humidifier installation or some other phantom problem, but Flare responded quickly and stood behind their product and installation. They did not bill me for the service call to check the wiring, even when we could not determine if their installation was at fault. I would use them again.

Every spring I have had no air conditioning and have had to argue to get it fixed. Finally, after four years, they replaced the part that needed to be replaced, which did resolve the problem. I have had to go through way too much trouble to get the exchange of the proper part.

Men were on time, cleaned up well, very informative and helpful.

Flare installed the original Furnace in my home in 1987. In 1988 I hired them to install a central AC unit. That unit worked very well with minor issues expected with normal heating and cooling use. During a CenterPoint Energy yearly cleaning and checkup it was discovered that the heat exchanger was cracked and the furnace needed to be replaced. My first call was the company that provided me with 22 years of good service, Flare Heating. The salesman looked over my home and my needs and suggested a high efficiency Carrier Furnace and Central AC unit. One of his selling points was this being a very quiet system! The install went pretty nice. The installers kept their work area clean and organized. They did a nice quality job fabricating and installing the duct work. I was a bit surprised when they were missing some duct work and I overheard one of the installers talking like I took them. When the other installer was reviewing their work with me at the end of the job he asked me if I took the duct work. Hmmm. The NEW AC worked very nicely. Once the heating season arrived I was surprised how the Furnace sounded like an old jalopy. The exhaust pipes rattled and vibrated, the inducer blower motor has an annoying vibration and the electronics cracked like lightning. Not a very good selling point for a Carrier Furnace and AC for the friends and family that asked and came over to take a look at my new install. I have called for service and Flare has replaced parts. If there is any improvement it is minimal and short termed. The service manager keeps telling me that he needs to contact Carrier and he will get back to me. There is NO follow up and he never gets back to me as promised. The last service tech told me my furnace is “within specs” and that I should just live with it. In conclusion I wish I would have chosen other than Flare Heating for my install. I have no choice but to live with it for a while but I foresee an expensive repair bill or furnace replacement in my near future.

They did an excellent job, they were professional and they cleaned up after themselves. I do not recall the cost but they were very competitive. I did hire them for additional work and they once again did a great job. I would use them again and I have recommended them to friends that have used them and had similar experiences as I have.

Two calls, had to get pump that wasent in truck, which was understandable. Technician explained all issues.

The work was completed on time and it was a quality installation. I would definitely classify them as a reputable company because of the quality of their installers and the quality of the brands they carry. Their service was great and I have no complaints.

They came to repair the unit and replaced a piece. We did not have to pay for the work because it was under warranty. They had originally installed the unit. They were timely and did a great job. They cleaned up well and left nothing behind. I was pleased with the service.

The installers were great! They were in and out in one day. The price was good and we were pleased with the service.

We would recommend them. They were very courteous and easy to work with. They cleaned up after themselves. They got the job done in one day. Steve Thorstad figured out our issue, and he was outstanding.

Service was very prompt. Completed in a day. So far works well. Their billing could be improved. Invoice was not complete re service and mechanics bought. Would have liked greater info re warranty etc.

I believe Flare did a terrible job in what I hired them to do. I had an annual service / maintenance contract with them for heating and AC. They made a semi-annual trip the day before Thanksgiving 2012 and determined there was a crack in the furnace that required them by law to shut it down. We purchased a new furnace from them at that time. Subsequent problems due to that job: - they never closed out the inspection (which I found out by chance when I called about another permit months later) - they installed it incorrectly, causing the AC to malfunction the following spring when we turned it on - they never returned my phone call to fix the AC (claimed they never got the message due to a power outage), forcing me to call and pay another provider nearly $200 to fix the wiring error that Flare made during the furnace install - after the wiring issue was fixed, the AC started leaking and flooding the basement floor due to the drip pan being installed ... also related to a mistake during the furnace install - Flare did come out and quickly correct the issue after the leak occurred, and did acknowledge that all these issues were related to the furnace install that they performed - Bruce and Flare refused to compensate me for the expenses I incurred due to their incompetant furnace install, despite acknowledging in that it was their fault. Only after nearly 15 phone calls asking if they would deal with it (they kept saying they would get back to me) and my statement that it would be the last time I call them, did they reluctantly refund me the expense for the wiring issue. In the end, they did a botch furnace install which caused several AC issues down the road. While they admitted the mistakes, I feel they were terrible in their customer service and in assuming responsibility for the mistakes. I will never call Flare again.
