Two experienced structural engineers from CBS came out to my house to evaluate a sag in my floor. They determined that I had undersized trusses for the weight load the trusses had to carry. They spent about an hour at my house and took numerous measurements. While at my house they came up with several possible solutions. They discussed with me the advantages/disadvantages of each solution and we decided on a solution. They went back to their office and discussed the fix with a another engineer and, they told me, performed some calculations. They then sent me a very detailed step by step plan for fixing the sag including the size of LDL beam needed. It was detailed enough for a construction company to come in and fix the issue, or, in my case, an experienced do-it-your-selfer, fix it my self. I'm very happy with my experience with CBS and I will certainly call them again, if needed for other issues or projects..

Complete Building Solutions (CBS) was incredibly responsive to our questions and scheduled an appointment to look at our structure the day after we called. Rob was very responsive to calls and questions and took the time to help us understand our situation and the work that would be needed for the garage. We were working under a time crunch and the Complete Building Solutions team completed the analysis and provided a written report in a very short period of time. Although the outcome of the study was not favorable for us, CBS remained objective and professional throughout our interactions. I hope to not have to use the services of CBS in the future, but if I do, I would definitely be a return customer and would recommend them to anyway that is in need of their services. I called Rob about a property I was interested in purchasing as an investment property. I was concerned about the property because of several large cracks in both sides of a vaulted ceiling. Because the property was located so close to his office, he was willing to stop on his way back from an appointment and give me his opinion at no charge. He was very knowledgeable and was able to quickly tell me that the roof trusses were not sufficient to adequately support the 18' ceiling span. Any fix would be very expensive, so I decided to pass on purchasing this property. Rob was knowledgeable, professional and timely. I will certainly use Rob again if I have any concerns about structural issues in properties I plan to purchase (at his standard fee, of course!). He saved me from making a very costly mistake.

Rob always told me the truth, even when it hurt, and was always very personable and easy to talk to. He constantly showed high quality work and professionalism. Bruce with CBS provided plans for a wall and three sided fireplace removal which were both load bearing. After a couple of hiccups that could have required a wall where we had just taken on down, Bruce provided an alternative to the beam being installed that solved our problems. Very happy - we will definitely use CBS again in the future.

Due to water sprinkler damage caused by missing grout at top of decorative brick, four wall studs, sheathing and gypsum board was rotted and moldy. Two inspectors and a contractor stated that that exterior brick would have to be removed to allow replacement of plates, rim joist, replacement of wrap, etc. This was shortly after deterioration was discovered and before walls were well exposed. Complete Building Solutions owner Rob Vassallo, and another CBS engineer, determined that the rim joist was solid. Exterior brick, since it rested on its own base, could be left in place allowing work to be completed from interior of house. Wrap and blown insulation would be professionally installed and time/cost/household interruption would be less.

Rob Vassallo was personally involved on our job site. He brought in three teams of workers for the varied challenges of this project. The workers were polite, friendly, worked industriously for hours, and cleaned up the project when finished. Rod coordinated all of these teams so that the whole process went smoothly and timely. He guaranteed satisfaction with his usual high standard of performance. The costs were clearly communicated. After the job was done, he personally inspected all aspects. Then he returned another day with "before" and :after" interior and outside photos. We are very impressed and extremely grateful to have found a man of integrity to complete this job.
