Mike was quick to respond. Entire job was started immediately the next day after I accepted the estimate. Mike cleaned up all the dust right after installing the drywall, which minimized any dust in the house. Rick started on the taping the next business day on Monday, then plastered, and did a knockdown finish on the ceiling. The job was completed by the end of the week. Everything was cleaned up each day, and they did an excellent job.

I'm very happy I made the decision to go with Right Choice Drywall for my project. Mike was awesome to work with, incredibly responsive via text and very personable. I had Mike hang new drywall over an existing ceiling that had sustained heavy damage during asbestos popcorn removal. He put new drywall over the entire ceiling on the ~1,500 sq. ft. main floor, and also did a bunch of patching on walls where we had done some demo or electrical work. His finishing crew did a great job taping and adding knockdown texture to the ceilings. I'd definitely recommend Mike to others and would work with him again for future drywall needs. Thanks!

Average at best. They damaged my floors, oversanded the paper and now post paint has to be resanded and painted. First Mike argued it was my fault, then recommended I hide their work with a heavier stiple roller or thicker paint. He ended our last conversation where I asked him to correct the work with "good luck with your project @$$hole.

Excellent. I am really pleased. Mike responded right away via email and phone call that evening. Stopped by the next day to provide a formal quote and review the job. His crew came out a few days later on a Friday exactly as discussed. They showed up on-time and were extremely courteous and hard working, even did more work than expected. Then they cleaned up, gave me the update on when to see them next. They showed up again just like discussed on time, and completed the job that Monday. Next day Mike checked in to ensure the job was complete. I would gladly hire Mike and his crew again. Just a great team of folks working hard to get the job done right, and on schedule. What more could you ask for?

It went Fast, real fast. The crew was prompt and did wonderful work. The price was the same as other quotes. However, the owner fit us in the schedule so fast, it took us by surprise. However, we had a Florida trip planned and the project's end was when we were away, which caused the contractor to ask for full payment before completion. Which was a gamble on our end, but everything worked out.

Mike was a strong communicator and good at explaining the process and anything that might be out of initial scope upfront. We were well-informed on timing/cost/process upfront and there weren't any shifts throughout the process. We especially appreciate his and the crews' timely manner to complete the work - from initial contact/estimate to completion was 5 business days.

Mike was crazy fast...on everything. First to contact to do a bid. Bid completed the next week. Able to start the job the next week, and done in one week! Everyone else we talked with was making us wait over a month. Mike worked it out to squeeze us in his busy schedule. Amazing. He was very knowledgeable, pointing out certain things that no other company did. Things that would make his job and our lives a lot easier...not to mention our basement looking awesome. The knock down that they did on our ceiling was top notch! Everything looks beautiful!

I am usually not one to leave reviews but I wanted to share my recent experience with Mike Putnam and Right Choice Drywall. I had contacted Mike to quote the work on finishing my basement (We had purchased the home with what we thought was a basement roughed in and ready to be dry walled and finished). He mentioned that he does “free estimates” and he came over to measure and bid the project. After a few other estimates we decided to go with Mike, and at his request I sent a check for $1250 for materials that would be ordered a week prior to our start date. In the weeks leading up to the start date we had a couple large plumbing and electrical issues come up that I was not aware of prior. I contacted Mike to see if we could delay the start date while we had it looked at. He said it wasn’t a problem since he hadn’t ordered the materials yet, and to let him know 1 week prior to our new start date so he could order them. After multiple contractors, electricians, and plumbers we unfortunately found out we had some pretty major issues that would require complete rework before the drywall could be installed. After analyzing the project it got to the point that it did not make any financial sense to continue with the project. I had signed a contract with Mike but had it looked at by an attorney and he confirmed there was no cancellation policy or anything associated to a policy of that kind anywhere in the contract. There was also nothing in the contract about any portion of the payments being non-refundable. He advised me I would not have a problem getting the $1250 back since there was no language in the contract. I contacted Mike and told him the bad news and that we appreciated his work and were disappointed we had to put a permanent hold on the project. It was at this time Mike responded back to me that there would be a $350 breach of contract fee. I asked him to show me where in the contract it stated that. His response was admitting that the contract did not say anything about that. He then quickly moved to the $350 being charged for his time working on bidding our project. I was a little taken back by that and asked how he came up with the $350 worth of work. He then told me it was for his time traveling to my house, his gas, time measuring, and ordering materials. Mike was only at the house one time which was for the “free estimate” so not sure how out of the “Free estimate” I was responsible for paying him for travel, gas, and time measuring the project. He had also previously mentioned he hadn’t ordered any materials so that made no sense either. Mike had taken 2-3 phones calls during the process from me with questions on the project that lasted a total of probably 10 minutes. So from his argument I could only really find the few phone calls and possible minor administrative work that was put into the project. I offered Mike $150 for his time which from what he did was more than generous. He declined the offer multiple times saying his time was worth more than that and continued to list things he did that made the $350 valid, continuing to include mostly things that should have been included in his “free estimate”. I did get a refund in the amount of $900 so in the end he did kept the $350. So I guess his time is valuable because he charged me $350 for basically 10 minutes of phone conversations. I would suggest that between his next jobs Mike read through his contract so that he better understands it. I would also suggest he stop advertising “free estimates” if he plans on charging for things that make up a free estimate. Overall a terrible customer experience was created when there was no need what so ever, that is why I am leaving this feedback.
