Ice Dam Guys

The Ice Dam Guys communicate well and do good work. Their communication and responsiveness, along with their hard work, is appreciated in a tough stretch of winter such as early 2019, when many, many people around here experienced ice dams. I gave them a "C" on price because the services are expensive, however, they explained all the costs clearly up front, and I recognize that other companies doing this work were charging comparable hourly rates. Andy arrived on time and did very good work. Jay (manager) and Andy (technician) communicate well with the customer about what work needs to be done, how it will be done, and the cost. This is important in situations like mine where I wanted them to focus on problem areas of the roof, to keep costs down, rather than remove all snow from everywhere on the roof.

Most severe winter in Idaho in 33 years. After noticing two ice dams on my roof, on a Sunday morning, I called the Ice Dam Guys and left a voice mail message. I received a prompt return phone call. Jay answered all of my questions and an appointment was set for Monday morning – super quick. The three man crew arrived on-time, explained the process, and promptly started removing the ice dams. I was impressed with the professionalism of the crew, and the speed at which they worked. The ice dams were removed within 45-minutes and the crew removed additional snow from the roof, keeping the entire job to the minimum of one hour. The employees are rugged individuals. The lead of the three man crew is a hunting guide and Iraq war veteran. The other two individuals are outdoorsman. It takes a special type of person do the demanding and dangerous job of accessing a snowy roof in the winter, and dealing with the elements. Jay did an exceptional job of following-up to verify if I was satisfied with the work and Jay has always been available to answer questions. The cost for the services was well worth the investment. The alternative was risking water penetrating into my house, and the hassle of remediation. Plus, the cost of removing the ice dams from my roof was lower than my insurance deductible, should damage have occurred and I had to file an insurance claim.

We had an unusually severe winter in Bend, OR (2016-2017) ? 5 feet of snow from early December to mid-January, with virtually no melting in between snow storms. As a result, thick ice dams (several inches thick) developed on our eaves, particularly on the north side of the house. At about 1 AM a slow drip started in the master bedroom. Later that morning before I went to work I went to work, I called Ice Dam Guys. Ty showed up within the hour & started working. He worked virtually non-stop for 6 hours to clear that ice dams (as I said the ice dams were very thick ? 6 or more inches in some places - & our roof has a steep pitch, which made his job that much more difficult). When I got home from work, Ty showed me what he had accomplished & offered to do more. He was friendly, courteous, professional, very hard working & very effective. He nipped the problem in the bud for us. The slow drip stopped & there was no real damage to the inside of the house or the attic. It was a pleasure doing business with Ice Dam Guys & with Ty in particular!

We can't tell you how glad we are that we called Ice Dam Guys. We were rewarded with fast, courteous, efficient service at a cost, while not cheap, was a fraction of what a new roof and walls would have cost. Many of our neighbors were not as fortunate. We had a record snowfall here in Idaho last winter, (over 48 inches overall non-stop - once with 16 inches overnight,) and it was more than we could handle without professional help. Locally, many structures had already collapsed from the build-up and we were fearful of the weight on our roof from 3+ feet of compressed snow, not to mention the terrible ice dams! We called Ice Dam Guys, and they were terrific. Easy to reach, good, fast, polite customer service. They scheduled us the next day and got to work on our emergency situation. Two men showed up early and began the much needed melting of the ice dams and snow removal. They worked a half-day and cleared off the majority of snow from two structures, (we have a guest house,) and more importantly all of the ice. I can't say I've met a nicer, politer, more efficient crew than these two men. We can't tell you how glad we are that we called them. Last winter was a brutal one for the Boise, Idaho, area. Snow fell in record amounts and many homeowners experienced water leaks inside their homes because of ice dams that built up on rooftops. My husband and I had just moved into a brand new home and were horrified to discover that we had water leaking through the ceiling one morning. I had seen a story on our local news about Ice Dam Guys, so I gave them a call and was so relieved that they could get to us that day. Within a few hours, a team of two workers arrived, explained the snow and ice removal process to us, and promptly got to work. They worked tirelessly for about five hours, giving me updates throughout the process. Both of the young men were very courteous and professional, and I was greatly impressed with their work. Ice Dam Guys is a trustworthy company that I would highly recommend to anyone in need of snow and ice removal.

Ice Dam Guys answered our initial phone call promptly and we were quickly scheduled for the job. They were friendly, professional, very hard-working. We were extremely pleased with the results, as they removed huge ice dams and accumulated snow from the roof of our house.

They're doing great. They're the only ones willing to get up on my roof with the snow and the ice and take the ice dams off so I like them. They came when they said they'd come. They're $475 an hour and they require a two hour minimum. However, other companies that quoted us quoted $900 just to set-up. Then about the same amount per hour afterwards. They were late but the reason why is they had an equipment problem so it really wasn't their fault. They came and told me they were going to be late.

Ice dam near edge of roof was removed - about a 3ft. deep edge along 2nd story roof line. The experience was just so-so. Some of the ice slid off and damaged a gazebo frame below. The amount of the bill exceeded my expectations. The service provider seemed to lack customer skills and maturity. However, enough ice was removed from the roof to prevent leaking in the house.

It was a very windy day and the tech was up on the roof. He was quite remarkable! He did a very good job for me.

The work was already completed by the time these guys got back to us, and their cost estimate was four times what we paid. I lost the money I prepaid for this service, but still spent less than I would have if I had used them.

They responded promptly after I purchased the big deal and work was performed the next day. Cost was considerably higher than I expected, but I have never had this service performed before. We decided to keep the work to whatever could be completed in the 2-hour minimum. There was a small problem in that the service team did not fully shut off my water outside, but once the problem was discovered, they again were very responsive and offered to pay the extra water usage on my bill.

They did a fine job, were curteous and informative. My only complaint was the price. Very High.

I've never had an ice dam removed, and was really surprised at the cost! However, the technician worked as rapidly as possible, and discussed with me several options that managed the overall project cost. He didn't damage fencing, bushes etc. that were directly under the roof and overall did a great job.

Found water dripping in living room. Called immediately. They came later that day and spent five hours removing the packed ice and snow. Subsequently I realized I'd neglected to mention the $75 coupon offer and they gladly refunded that amount. As we didn't shop around I am not able to comment on price, but it seemed fair and their responsiveness and thoroughness were well worth the cost. Very satisfied with service.

The Ice Dam Removal Guys were not able to respond on my short timeline, but I paid $50 to Angies List for a $50 off coupon? This seems strange -- not $50 off at all, just a prepayment, and no information about how to get a refund? Where did the $50 go? I'm hoping The Ice Dam Removal Guys have a good relationship with Angies List.

I live out of state and have renters in my home. I hadn't been sure if it was a plumbing issue or an ice dam but I knew I had to take action. I called the Ice Dam Removal Guys because they were the only company on Angie's list with an A rating in this area. There was no answer when I called and the voicemail box was full - sigh... Fortunately, I received a call back immediately. The initial price quote was higher than I anticipated (and higher than the rate reported in some of the reviews). Apparently the price had gone up because this was such a bad year for ice dams - there was a high demand and they had to call in extra help... When I mentioned that it was not the price I had seen on Angie's list, the gentleman on the phone (I apologize I cannot recall his name) matched the price I had seen in recent reviews. Wow! This was totally unexpected and appreciated. I was told that they love their Angie's list clients and want to keep us happy. :) Within 2-3 hours, Patrick was on-site to evaluate the situation. He confirmed that there was a lot of ice built up and that the issue was the result of an ice dam. He clearly outlined the scope of the proposed work, offered options, and got promptly to work. The work was completed in a timely manner and came in a little less than I was dreading (no one wants to spend this money). Patrick was a great sport and waited for me to find a patient on the street to return the walker they had left in my clinic. After patiently waiting, he walked me through the easy online payment process. Overall, the Ice Dam Guys made an undesirable situation much more tolerable. I especially appreciate the piece of mind I had - knowing that they were so highly rated - given I was trying to manage the situation from Arizona. We set up a date and time and they were there to do the job. It took 5 hours to get all of the ice dams off but it was done professionally and efficiently. The cost was not a shock because they quoted me the hourly rate. I know it is hard work and all but I think the pricing is a little high. I was totally satisfied with the work that they performed and would recommend them to others with the note that it is a pricey job.

They were unable to do the work for me because they were too busy. I got the deal refunded through Angie’s List but thought they should of canceled their special if they were overwhelmed.

The technician while very nice arrived late and took one hour to set up. He worked for around one half hour and then steamer machine stopped working. The technician spent the next 45 minutes working on the machine. Once he got it working again he did a great job
