Professional and courteous from the day Linn came to give me an estimate, through the end of the installation. His workers are knowledgeable, hard workers who know what they're doing and answered all of my questions. Excellent service!
Description of Work: Removed old carpet from living room, dining room, hallway and one bedroom. Gave me time to clean the floors underneath and then installed new carpet.

Wthin four months of the installation we noticed the carpet was not properly attached to the tack strips and requested the company to come and review/fix the installation, they ignored our requests until November of 2009, more than a year later. Linn finally came and reviewed the installation and told us the repairs were minor and he would “come over with a few of his guys and fix the problem in an hour”. We were not satisfied with his assessment and asked that he provide a plan of the work that needed to be done to fix the carpet. His response to this request was the third party that fixed the seams was responsible, and refused to fix the installation. As a result of his refusal we hired a third party carpet inspector “certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute” to review the work to determine what work should be done to repair the installation and by which installer. His assessment was that none of the work completed by Linn’s Carpet Service was done according to the industries standards and the entire carpet job should be replaced, that seams were not an issue or a cause for the carpet coming away from the tack strips. The problem with the installation was a direct result of using the existing tack strips, which were 30 years old, and did not conform to today’s standards for heavy Berber carpets. Linn still refused and we were forced to litigate. We won our case in civil court only to have the company appeal to district court where we also won. It is now July 2010 and we continue to go through the legal process to collect the judgment. Our advise, if you hire Linn’s Carpet Service you will need a watchful eye and a good attorney.
Description of Work: In October of 2008, my wife and I selected Linn’s Carpet Service to sell and install a Karastan Berber carpet throughout our house. We selected Linn’s Carpet Service because Linn the owner told us they were experts at installing Berber carpet, offered a five year warranty on installation and Mohawk had an attractive one year same as cash offer on financing which Linn arranged through the company. On the day they were to begin work, they were scheduled to begin work at noon and did not arrive until 4:00pm. After the second day of work we began to notice problems with the installation, over cuts around the holes where the heating vents were on the floor, snags in the carpet in the center of the room, and areas where the carpet had been cut short around the parameters. The seams between rooms were in front of door ways as opposed to the industry standard of being centered in doorways. All seams were visible from as far as twenty feet away, the worst of which being in the upstairs hall where they had two seams in a space of three feet because they had ran out of carpet. It was another two weeks before they could order more carpet to complete the job and after completion we asked Linn to review the job because we were not satisfied especially with the seams and over cuts which they repaired with duct tape. We needed to hire a third party to fix the seams and while we had not met with Linn to review other issues, he charged the account set up with Mohawk to collect his fee in full.

Bought Berber Carpet from us and was told before purchase that the seams would show on that type of carpet both by my Decorator & Myself. Customer was not happy with our installation so I gave him 1500.00 worth of carpet to replace what he was not happy with because he had another installer come in and redo the halls and office. told me his other installer had installed that carpet in a house he looked at and you couldn't find the seams....So his installer redid the area he was not happy with and then called me and said what about the Seams. I talked to the installer and he said he never seen that carpet before and the one Mr Meyer looked at was totally different from the one I sold him. I told him that the seams are not mine installation anymore that his complaint should be with the new installation and he tuck up the carpet in the bedrooms to install the hall and lost the stretch in the bedrooms in doing so. The carpet he bought had a 60 day no question warranty, He could have changed color, Style and had new carpet installed for nothing. But he pursued me personally. Even though my business is incorporated and should have tried to sue my store he came after me personally. I have been with the Better Business Bureau for years and have a A+ Rating with them. I have always taking care of my customer but never had a customer so unreasonable. I been in business since 1964 Never had customer like him. Linn Pierson

From start to finish Linn's carpet was great. We checked out the showroom which has more carpet than I expected for a family run store. Linn then came out and gave us an estimate. We shopped other places including Seestadt's. Linn's prices were competitive and similar to larger carpet places. Linn's was the only place we went where we didn't feel rushed to buy. The install took one day and you can tell the people who installed the carpet were pro's. Not only that the installers acted like pro's. They even helped my pregnant wife move some things back into the bedroom without charge or hesitation. We had a large 4th of July party and were complimented numerous times not on the great food we made but the carpet and how plush, soft, and amazing it looked. We would recommend them to friends and family and use them again,
Description of Work: We had our large living room and 3 bedrooms with closets recarpeted. (1200 sq feet) All of the removal of the old carpet was done by Linn's. We got premium carpet and pad.

I wanted to have my carpet cleaned, but needed it restretched prior to the cleaning. Linn's was recommened to me by the carpet cleaning company I selected. I called Linn's in the morning and told them what I wanted done. Linn stopped by that afternoon to look at the carpet and give me an estimate. He told me exactly how they would restretch it, and even offered to do some addional floor leveling that I didn't know could be done. When the scheduled date arrived, they were here on time, pulled up the carpet, replaced some metal edges, leveled the floor, and relayed/restretched the carpet. They did a fantastic job, I couldn't be happier.

The installers did not ask enough questions when they were doing the job. As a consequence there were mistakes made, they cut 2 holes in the new carpet where there were outlets in the floor but we wanted them carpeted over as I had taken out the wiring for them, they were abandoned outlets. They came in did their thing and left. We had some problems with the flooring in the entry way but they fixed it to my wife's satisfaction. They never came back to fix the holes in the carpet or offered to patch it. The front entry way is on a concrete slab so I had put 1/2 inch of foam with hardboard over the foam for insulation and they ripped it all up and did not offer to re-insulate it. They actually charged us more to remove it and we didn't want it removed.
Description of Work: They installed new carpet in the living room, bedrooms, and hallway. They also put new flooring in the kitchen.
