An appliance repair technician recommended getting the dryer vent cleaned as he thought it may be contributing to the dryer's thermostat issues. Selected Dryer Vent Wizard based on this technician's advice and Angie's List rating. Although I was very skeptical at first on the need for this service relative to the cost, I was pleasantly surprised by the improvement in air flow speed on the exterior of roof vent (20mph to 29mph). The rep (Kevin) was very thorough and professional. He called to let me know he would not be arriving until the latter part of the 2 hour window which was nice. He also replaced the "slinky-type" foil connector on the back of the dryer with a sturdier version free of charge. Looks like it was money well spent and the dryer is working more efficiently than before.

Our dryer started to have a terrible burning smell which got onto our clothes, blankets, etc... blech. I took a look on Angie's List for Dryer Vent Cleaning since we had never had it done and were unsure how long it had been since the past owners had it done. I ran across a couple of companies but decided to pick Dryer Vent Wizard since dryer vents are there specialty. The came out within 3 days of the call, gave us a reasonable quote, and proceeded to spend the next hour (give or take) cleaning out the vent and fixing anything that wasn't right about it. For example, the person who mounted it originally A) didn't really mount it - it was just hanging in the air, and B) used duct tape to keep the pieces together. Over time the duct tape breaks down due to the heat and loses its adhesiveness. Anyway, long story short, the guy went above and beyond to make sure everything was done correctly. I highly recommend them for any dryer vent needs and will gladly use them again if the need ever arises.

The house inspector recommended the dryer vent be cleaned as it appeared to be clogged from the outside. Carl was able to come out within a week of calling. He did an excellent job of explaining what he did and what may need to be done during the initial call. He was prompt and courteous; he wore coverings for his shoes to walk through the house. He took about an hour to thoroughly inspect, clean and replace necessary parts. He clearly explained what he did and why.

I was very pleased with Carl's work. I knew that my dryer vent line needed cleaning, but I had no idea that it had separated inside my ceiling. If Carl had not discovered this problem, I might have had very serious problems caused by moisture inside my walls. Carl was professional, capable, careful about details, and pleasant. He was very responsible and hardworking.

Carl examined the venting carefully, showing me what happened over time to make the carbon monoxide alarm sound. Dryers were trading lint and residue from dryer sheets that built up. Old tape leaked air confusing the kitchen dryer so it overheated. Neither worked well or safely. Carl detailed options such as types of repair and cost, I felt I could make well informed decisions. All was handled very professionally, including some outside work in 90 heat under a thorny rosebush. Value is excellent, this was done the same day as the estimate. I did not find this through Angie's List, and was referred by Terry's Appliance related to where I bought the appliance. This was the first time I used this company. I liked the complete info I got about the problems, options and costs. Carl does an excellent job.
