I brought my kids' HP laptop computer (1 yr old) in to get a new AC port. The computer was not charging nor could it run while plugged in. I first called and asked how long it would take to fix and was told less than 2 weeks. I was also told it would be about $150. Since this was about half of what Geek Squad was and it is right in my neighborhood, I decided to bring the computer in. I was told I would get a call when it was ready. I waited 2 weeks and then called. I called 3 times and got vm and did not receive a call back. I work full time and this place is only open from 9:30 (although it's never open by then) to 5 so I had my nanny stop in to check on the status. She was told that the guy that was working on it was on vacation and so they didn't have an updated. I called the following Monday and finally reached someone. So, we are now on week 4 and my kids have not been able to do all their summer work that is computer based for school. The guy said he had been waiting for a part and it was on its way. I asked when it would be there and he said Thursday. So I asked how long until he fixed it once the part was there. He said "one hour" I told him I would give him until Friday and then I would come and pick it up. That Friday I actually left for vacation for a week so again sent my nanny to pick up the computer. The computer was in pieces and the guy said he had to sauter the motherboard (I think he said this to intimidate her--that's what had to be done all along, sauter the port to the motherboard) and wasn't done. She told him we were out of town so she'd give him a few more days, but then she'd have to take the computer. The FOLLOWING Thursday she went in to get the computer and it was STILL in pieces. SIX WEEKS after we dropped off the computer, the guy had made no progress and had never called to give us an update. Our nanny took the computer in a bag in pieces and brought it back to our house. I now have to bring it in somewhere to A. see if all the pieces are actually there and B. get the port fixed. I cannot believe this place is still in business and I hope no one makes the mistake I made of bringing a simple computer issue to them to be fixed.
