Good job was done all last year. Didn't go with a plowing service for this year as I'm semi-retired and cleaning my driveway myself . As soon as it would stop snowing the plow was here to clean out my driveway. They did a very good job.
I followed Justin Mangold from when he worked for a different company to his new startup company, Mangold Horticulture, because he used to care deeply about the quality of the work and customer service. I watched his company struggle with growing pains. He has had trouble with employee turnover and there have been numerous issues with the work performed. I complained about those quality issues as well as the bad attitudes of a couple of their employees and now in April 2019 after 2 years of doing business with him I received an e-mail with a 26% price increase for the 2019 summer lawn care. When I called to ask why I was told that I am a "nuisance customer" because of the issues I reported and the extra time it takes to do a good job. As a senior citizen recovering from major surgery and living on social security, I can’t afford a $452 increase for poor quality lawn care. I was forced to fire them. Based on my past experiences with Justin, from before he started his own company, I expected consistently good quality work and fair pricing. All I wanted was a clean evenly cut lawn with good fertilization and weed control, some minor landscaping, and reliable snow plowing. Justin has been unable to provide that. Here is a list of the issues I have had from 2017 to 2019: On occasion they have failed to mow the entire width of my yard, they have left patches of standing grass throughout the yard, they trimmed edges down to the dirt killing the grass, they mowed over and left debris in the yard, they failed to provide all of the contracted fertilization and weed control applications, the weed control products were ineffective and they failed to complete 15 feet of the last landscaping project. They also plastered the side of my truck with grass clippings several times and there’s no legitimate excuse for that. On one particular day a worker pushed a few 2 & 3 foot long fallen branches out of his way as he mowed and left them there. When I asked him to remove them, he got hostile and told me were to go. Our agreement called for a smaller walk-behind mower in my backyard because of the soft ground and on occasion I found them using the big heavy riding mowers that leave ruts. In addition, they consistently failed to plow the driveway full width by 1 to 3 feet each side. On one occasion they plowed into the middle of my yard after I had complained. They also occasionally plowed 4-10 hours before the end of the snow storm and then expected a second payment to come back and finish the job on the same day.
