Dan Ehman Landscaping

Dan was great. He was doing some work at our neighbor's and I approached him for a bid on our job. He gave us a great bid immediately. He came on the date that we decided on, did the job & was finished in 2 days. I would definitely hire Dan again.

Dan was great to work with and a really nice guy. He genuinely wanted me to be happy and to help me realize my vision to turn my plain back yard into an urban garden (veggies, fruits, and perennials) with a hidden fire pit in the back for gatherings with friends. He worked independently for about helf the day and I was with his for part of the day. He worked tirelessly. When I was there, he paused occassionally and asked me how I wanted the boulders placed and if I was happy with the way he was preparing the landscaping. My satisfaction was very important to him. It was apparent that he achieved personal satisfaction from a job well done according to my vision. Dan is a fairly gentle, soft spoken guy, but he has amazing endurance (working all day from morning until dark!) and he sure can maneuver a bobcat! I actually got out my video camera to film him! He used the bobcat to level my yard and to carry or reposition the boulders with skill, as if the machine were an extension of his own arms. The job ended up taking two days: Day 1: He arrived with his big truck full of boulders and the tree trunks I had requested. Then he got on his bobcat and removed all the grass. Knowing that I wanted to garden he removed good composted soil from a section of my yard and then filled the whole with the yard waste. He then leveled my yard to get rid of the bumps and dips and leave a level surface to work on. It was quite an impressive and overwhelming site! When I got home from work, we decided together how the boulders should be placed to make a natural and attractive retaining wall. Then he dumped in an entire truck load of garden soil. Basically this was an entire days work from morning until evening! Day 2: Originally I thought one truck of soild would be enough, but when the soil was in my yard, I realized I wanted another whole truckload! Two days later, on the day we agreed to, he brought another truckload of soil, as well as nice green sod for the portion of my yard which will be grass. The grass is now growing great and I have planted all my garden veggies for my urban garden. I am pleased with the result.

They were very good. He's a really nice guy. I would rehire him. He's very punctual and respectful of your schedule. He would always ask me if I needed this or that done. The workers were all very kind too.

We found Dan via an Internet Search. His was one of 7 companies we tried to get bids from (most never returned our call). I think Dan and his crew did an excellent job. We've had many contractors for a variety of different projects over the years and Dan stood out in the following ways: 1. He actually returned our phone call. 2. He showed up when he said he would. 3. He not only appeared to be knowledgeable, he was also enthusiastic. 4. He started and completed the job as promised. 5. There were no complaints, no hidden costs, and the price didn't increase halfway through the job. 6. His crew was extremely polite and focused. They kept an unbelievably steady pace throughout the day (it was over 90 degrees). 7. When the job was done, everything was put back in place and all debris was removed. I would not only recommend Dan and his crew, I would hire them again (we asked for a bid on some front yard work and received a verbal estimate within a week).
