Absolutely amazing! Don and his team do beyond professional and the highest quality work. We built a new home with an unusable backyard because of the severe slope down into a wetland pond. Don created an absolutely beautiful design for our whole yard. It included a rock retaining wall to separate the wetland pond, and provide for a level backyard to entertain and enjoy with. It includes a patio with intricate design, with steps that went down to a lower level gas fire pit area. Planted over 30 trees with wonderful combinations of pine trees, maple and others. Creatively designed perennials, shrubs and bushes throughout the yard, with boulders scattered throughout. He installed lighting to enhance trees and many uplighting spots. We can not even begin to say how much we love our yard, being outdoors all of the time, and nightly fires. We live in a newer development near a walking path, and we get compliments even still and constantly about how beautiful his work was. Don has a gift of design, with attention to detail in everything. His team cleans up every single night. They even swept our city street from any mulch or dirt that may have scattered. His entire team is respectful. Our neighbors actually sought us out to tell us they were impressed with the crew, as they never saw them sitting doing nothing, except to eat lunch. Hard working, great clean up, caring and responsible team and crew. We will be hiring Don for any future projects!

Don did a great job. Very organized and paid attention to every detail. Don truly cared about the quality of his work and help to make sure that all other contractors related to my new in-ground pool installation worked together and everything came together for a great end result. Don is very responsive and great communicator. He is very knowledgeable about what needs to be done to provide a great quality project. The process went smooth and was enjoyable. Don is a great person to work with and manage a high quality paver/landscape project.

It was a fabulous experience. They were very professional and friendly. My husband and I didn't realize that our yard was going to be as beautiful as it is. It is our oasis!

Don and his crew did an amazing job. We were extremely happy with the results. They were easy to work with and stuck to all the deadlines as we were preparing for our daughter's graduation open house. Very professional and detail oriented. I would highly recommend them for any landscape project.

I called and set up an appointment for a quote with Don Felix last week. He didn't show up and didn't even call me.

Don and his crew essentially started from scratch on our whole yard beginnning with the design. Our original plan was to do this project in 2 phases...back yard and side (with retaining wall) but we decided to have him do the whole yard since it just made sense (and he priced out the front yard well within our budget). The job including the following: - Brought in 160 cubic yards of fill to raise the level of the back yard. - Built a new retaining wall on the one side of our house. - Built a patio and fire pit out of pavers. - Planted a number of larger trees (Black Hills Spruce, Aspen and some birch) - Lots of stone work - Rip-rap'd the entire back property line to prevent the new fill from eroding (looks absolutely awesome). - Stone edging along the new planting areas in the front yard. - Added LED lighting along sidewalk in front yard as well as lighting around patio/fire pit. - Added a new hosta garden along the property line in the back yard - Tapered the slope of both sides of the house. - Sodded the entire front, side and back yard. I interviewed 7 different landscape companies before I found (and ultimately hired) Don and his crew. They did a spectacular job and were very meticulous. I'm a perfectionist (so the wife says anyway) and these guys did a great job far exceeding my expectations.

We had a really hard time getting any landscapers to call us back so I was very impressed they did. Very responsive, would try them i the future.

Terrific experience. We contacted Don last July with a specific project in mind. He came in and blew us away with his ideas for a design and plan. It was more than we were thinking, but after seeing his drawings we couldn't "unsee" the possibilities and went with Signature Patio despite it being the highest (and most complex) bid we received. We knew that we were late to the schedule in July but Don got the project 95% complete by the end of October. It was too late to plant seed or sod, so they were back right away this Spring once overnight freezing was done to finish the job. We have a lot of elevation change in our back yard and the boulder retaining wall involved a LOT of fill to provide a semi-level play area for our kids. We also had some very tired looking gray rock for landscaping around the house and bushes that were poorly maintained. They hauled all of that out replaced with a variety of great looking, low maintenance plants and mulch. The boulder wall design was continued to the front of the yard with strategic placing of other boulders to level planting beds or decoration. Overall, Signature provided a great refresh to our landscaping and curb appeal. Don's crew was punctual, congenial and picked up after themselves every day they were on site.

We would hire Signature Patio again.

great design, on time installation, no surprises

Signature Patio was one of the only companies that called us back right away and responded to our request for a bid. They came to our house to take measurements. We met 2 other times to pick out stone and to remeasure some small changes that were made. Our project started about 2 weeks after initially thought because of delays in other jobs due to weather. We are happy with our patio and the workers were fast and very nice. They use nice design software so you can see approximately what you will be getting. (vs a hand-made sketch). The owner is a talented designer and based on his other designs and work we trusted his judgment as he guided us in choosing our materials and shrubs/plants. Overall we are very happy with our patio. It is absolutely beautiful and better them we could have imagined. On a general note, In all contractor -customer relationships, it is important to have good communication and make sure that all issues are addressed at the time of service. It is better to address difficult subjects in person versus via email in order to facilitate conversation and to avoid misunderstandings. We would use Signature Patio again.

Super professional and we love the results. The one little thing I would suggest to people thinking about doing some landscaping is to book early- we didn't get on the calendar until the end of the season because we dragged our feet a bit from when we first met until the time we booked it and as a result it was a lot longer until it was actually done. Plants went in and then I think we had frost like a week later - they guaranteed the perennial plants so hopefully things go ok in the spring despite the frost.

The moment my wife and I saw the design that Don had done for our yard we knew immediately we would be working with him. The landscaping is beautiful as well as very functional. We live in a new development and our landscaping has been the talk of the neighborhood. Frequently when I've met with new neighbors they know us as the ones with the amazing backyard! Don and his team were great to work with. They kept us well informed with the progress of the project. He even coordinated his efforts with another contractor we had hired to build a deck, they were able to collaborate what they needed from each other and the timing for all of it so I didn't need to worry about it. Things just got done, and done well. The attention to detail was fantastic. They weren't just there to get a job done and leave. It's clear that everyone takes pride in their work and wants to provide the best landscaping possible. There were some issues with the grading the builder had done that would have sent large amounts of water from a neighbor's yard right into my garage, but Don and team noticed the potential problem and took care of it. I couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out. I often sit in my backyard and smile, thinking "wow this is my home". I really can't imagine ever going with a different landscaper.

Don did an excellent job on our patio. His crew was very professional and competed the work in a timely manner. We are already setting up an appointment for next year to complete our front yard.

This was our second project with Signature patio. It was even better than the first. We owned a blacktop driveway, the most basic concrete sidewalk with front step, and 30 year old landscaping. It was UGLY. Really UGLY. Don agreed. Planning. We worked through a couple of plans and eventually agreed on a plan that fit our budget. We were provided an itemized list and a drawing. We signed a contract and placed a down payment to get a slot for the following season. It's easy. Don knows what works and what doesn't. Installation. I like the clean slate approach. We demolished everything to start new. There was a lot of concern over the construction of the driveway base. Two feet of clay were removed. That's a lot. Then it started to rain. A lot. Don worked through the rain battling small lakes and even installed a temporary sump pump to remove the water. I didn't think they were going to make the deadline, but Signature Patio came out in full force to get the job done. We were hosting a birthday party the weekend they were scheduled to be finished, they were excellent about making sure the work was done by the time our guests arrived. No hassle. Examples. A sprinkler head needed to be moved(after). The tv cable was damaged. A sprinkler line was damaged. An old concrete block needed a patch. These problems were taken care of. No questions asked. We are the talk of the block, and everyone stops by to pay compliments. Especially the lighting. Remember to budget for lighting. Thanks for reading about our second experience with Signature Patio. One of the things we really appreciated was how hard working and nice he and his staff were. Also, we were really happy with how creative Don was in offering suggestions and ideas. We knew we wanted a patio, but he helped us envision what a really transformed back yard would look like.

We love it! I never thought I would have anything so nice to sit on and to look at. We love our round patio and the "sitting" boulders for extra guests. The plantings are beautiful and a nice balance of native and cultivated. We have nothing but good things to say about Don and his crew in particular Phil and C.J. Don was responsive, a good listener, and full of good design suggestions. He looked at our surrounding area and convinced us to go with the more natural (and effective) look of boulders and we are so glad we did. The guys worked hard, solved problems effectively and efficiently, and were always courteous. They always cleaned up and clearly took pride in their work. Don Felix is talented and a pleasure to work with. You won't be disappointed.

Don and his team were very professional throughout the project. We spent a lot of time on project design and we met with Don numerous times prior to starting the project. Don is very responsive - he communicated well with us before, during, and after the project. Don's landscape crew were hard working and professional. We are very satisfied with the entire project completed by SIgnature Patio.

We could not have been happier with Signature Patio. From the start, Don was great to work with and his designs were amazing. The end results were beyond our expectations. We have received many comments from our neighbors about how great our landscaping looks - it is truly unique and sets us apart from all the other houses in our development. Don's team (Miguel and others) were very professional and efficient. Our entire project was completed within about a week and a half. They also did a lot of extras for us - including taking out a dead tree, putting sod in its place (which they did without being asked and without charging us), seeding where some of their machines had left tracks in our yard, and advice on how to keep it looking good with minimal maintenance. It was truly just a fantastic job from start to finish. When we have the budget, we will come back to Don for work on the remaining side of the house that we didn't do in this project. The only advice I would have is to start working with Don very early in the spring (like March) if you are looking to have your project done in the summer. We didn't contact him until May and by then his summer calendar was pretty booked, so we didn't get our project done until the fall. It was definitely worth the wait in the end!

Scheduled an appointment for a Monday evening at 6:30, Don did not show up.

The final product was remarkably close to the design and met all of our expectations. The entire team was professional and took great care in their craft.

It turned out very well. The person who gave me the bid is actually the person who comes out with the team, and he's a part of the whole project. They are very prompt and was within the original estimate.

Our story is simple. We were cramped. Like many young couples in 2008 we moved from a one bedroom apartment, and purchased a smaller starter home with approximately 1400 sq ft finished. To this day we remember saying 'What are we going to do with all this room?'. The house was built in 1980 and was reasonably kept up with very few amenities except for siding, roof, carpet, window treatments, paint, and tile flooring. Jump forward three years later 2011. Money in hand we were very eager to expand our homestead. Exploring several options the first being a 400 sq ft addition with a full basement. During the conversation I turned to my wife and said 'I think he said $70,000?'. Negotiations quickly ended after forfeiture of the basement, 150 sq ft, and a price tag of $40,000. Everyone had the same story. We looked at remods on kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. Nobody had what we wanted. We did have a walkout sliding glass patio door, and a 100 sq ft piece of concrete that never saw the sun. Very little attention had ever been paid to the lawn/landscaping. Tired of sitting in the grass and dirt we contacted three of the top(local) landscaping/hardscaping companies from AngiesList, and requested consultations. All three contacted us within a week. We chose three similar companies. We received three similar bids. Two companies mailed a materials list and a number($). Plans, i.e visual concepts and designs would cost an upfront fee ($500). That never sat right with us, but we heard them out then we showed them out. Don Felix was the first. He was the first to show, and the first to deliver a proposal. We met in May, June, and July of 2011. Three contracts later we had agreed on a plan, and Sept 2011 it was done. For us it was that easy. Dos and Don'ts. 1. Do work with someone that you TRUST. Start early and accept as many bids as you have time to entertain them. Don Felix is established. He has an excellent AngiesList rating, website, and references. From the moment we met we just knew that we had made the right decision. 2. Do shoot LIGHTS out. Whatever you can imagine Don Felix can build it. Think big and work together to bring your ideas to the patio. 3. Do set a BUDGET. This isn't cheap. BUT a patio is the most affordable or cost efficient method of adding square footage to your home. Yes. We do use the patio all year, even winter. 4. Don't try this. DIY and Sweat Equity are fun concepts to throw around, but this is back breaking labor even with the machines and the know how so leave it to the professionals. How do we know we made the right decision? We can't remember the way it used to be.

Don came to our house to assess our wants/needs and our vision for what we ultimately would like our property to look like finished. Don came back with a plan and suggestions for us that encapsulated completely what we envisioned. The crew were pleasant and professional, at the end of each workday the work area was cleaned up. Don and the crew worked each day starting early and working until evening. We made changes during the project that were accomodated along with some new suggestions that Don offered to us. We have received many compliments on our yard / landscaping, the paver sidewalk is the shining star! We recommend Signature Patio to everyone. We are completely satisfied with the work 1yr later!

Work itself was good but communication wasn't that great. They are supposed to be one of the best but I didn't get that feeling when we were done. The retaining wall was good but the selection of the plants didn't match with what my wife was looking for. We had two machines that we wanted fixed but they wanted additional charge for that so I decided to go our separate ways.
