Earlier this spring we had a small load of dirt delivered without any problems, so I used Plaisted again when we needed 3 large loads of dirt. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant, but the driver of the first truck backed into my mound septic system and got stuck! Whenever we've had any kind of truck in our yard, the drivers have always stayed far away from our septic system, so I was very surprised that this driver got stuck IN the mound. After multiple attempts to get out, which created deep ruts, he waited for the second truck to come pull him out. The second truck came and got stuck trying to pull him out! After hours of having trucks stuck in my yard and septic system, a wrecker came and pulled both of them out. All three loads of dirt were dumped in my front yard instead of in the back, where they were supposed to go. I expressed concern about the placement, the significant ruts in my yard and septic system, and the condition of my septic system and was assured multiple times that they would move the dirt by bobcat to the back yard where they were supposed to put it, fill in the huge ruts in my yard, and have a septic expert come look at my system to make sure nothing was damaged. Some of the dirt was covering the driveway and we had to move it by wheelbarrow. The dirt itself had some trash in it -- a chuck of cement, a piece of plastic from a tail light, lots of little shredded plastic pieces, and an extension cord. After 5 weeks and my repeated calls, they finally sent a bobcat to move the dirt to its intended location. It was a wet spring, but there were plenty of opportunities during that time when they could have sent a bobcat. They never did fill the ruts, and they never sent anyone to check out our septic system. Given the inconvenience of having a big pile of dirt in my front yard for 5 weeks, the extra work we incurred when we had to move it by wheelbarrow just to use our driveway, and the damage to our yard (which we also had to repair!) and septic system, they should have given me at least a partial refund!

We picked up the dirt rather than have them deliver it and they helped load it up and everything. The price is amazing for a yard and the dirt itself is even better. Our lawn is loving it.
