5 Star Lawn Service

Hired 5 star to dethatch my lawn this year. It’s been over a month and they haven’t shown. Every time I call, the lady assures me I’m still on the list and they will be out in a few days. I’ve repeated that process 3 times. No one comes. If you can’t handle my request, at least be honest and tell me so I can hire someone else. This is completely unprofessional.

I never leave poor reviews, however, I was very disappointed in the lack of integrity and communication provided by 5 star lawn service. For the past seven years, we had hired another small business for annual leaf removal and continued to be a loyal customer due to the excellent service they provided. In fall 2022, we were informed that our previous company was acquired by 5 star lawn service and therefore, we transitioned our business to them. We were then assured they would fit us into their schedule. The fall came and went, and they did not show up, nor communicate with us that they were not able to make it work. Once it snowed, it was too late to contact another company. Then in May 2023, 5 star service reached back out stating they were unable to make it in the fall, and offered to come in the spring instead, to which I agreed. After the service, they sent me an invoice for twice the amount of our annual clean up stating “Price increases if a Fall Cleanup was not preformed”. They did not inform me upfront that the rate would change due to more leaves needing to being collected in the spring as they did not perform the service in fall. I attempted several times to contact them regarding the price increase, including an email the same day the first bill was issued, but rather than responding, they continued to issue me “late fees”. Once I was finally able to get ahold of them, they agreed to remove the late fees due to their lack of response, but did not apologize or take accountability for their lack of communication regarding not showing up in the fall and/or informing me upfront regarding price increases due to the acquisition and the additional leaves needing to be removed. I ended up paying the full price, but will not be using their services again.

Always satisfied with the work 5 Star does and the staff are affable and always willing to do just that little extra that makes the difference between just someone doing a job and someone who loves what they do.

I have a lot of trees so in the fall I have A LOT of leaves. I would spend hours racking and taking trailer loads of leaves to the yard waste several times during the fall. They blow the leaves out of all the nooks and crannies and get it all ready for winter in maybe a little over an hour. It is so worth the money for the time it saves me. I usually have them come back and run over the lawn with the dethatcher in the spring so I don't have to rack and it looks great. I started using them when I saw what a great job they did on my neighbors lawn. I had them do my parents yard too.

Donnie is personal, professional, responsive, and does a fantastic job. I am grateful to have run across him on Angie's List. My neighbors have since hired him as well, and sing his praises when we chat in the street.

These guys did an excellent job. Very professional, responsive and thorough for a good price. Would definitely hire again.

Donny did a good job planting the evergreen trees for me. However, I think I was overcharged and he didn't do anything to prove me wrong. Per his invoice, it cost him $91 per tree for a 2'' to 3'' Colorado spruce. The same tree (same height and/or higher) costs $24.99 at Lowes. I found out about the huge price difference the same day the trees were planted and went back to Donny. I asked him to provide me with an itemized invoice as well as the name and phone number of the nursery he got the trees from. The latter was never provided to me. If he didn't overcharged me, he could have gone back to the nursery who supplied him with the trees or he would have given me the phone number so I could ask them about their price.

while he did a good job in mowing he has been unreliable this season. no answers when contacting him and last time he was supposed to come and mow he was a no-show/no-call. He also failed to replace 3 plant which were planted by them last year and didn't make it. Was disappointing as last year the service was different/better

Donny was great. He was communicative, punctual, thorough, fairly priced, and exceeded my expectations with the spring clean-up. I had a ton of leaves left over from the previous fall. Donny gave me my estimate, scheduled the time he would be out there and took care of everything. I would definitely use Donny again and would recommend him to anyone.

We got a Angie's list coupon special for having our lawn aerated. The provider was punctual, helpful and did a super job. Front and back yard core aeration. We were very pleased, and would call on them again!

We have been very happy working with Donny. He is professional, punctual, friendly, and customer service-oriented. We can easily reach him by phone and/or e-mail, and he quickly responds to any requests. On our recommendation, he helped out a neighbor of ours with lawn cleanup while her husband was out of town -- I hope she has hired him to do more!

It went great! After contacting many company's to come out, most would only come in late October when they do their aeration. Donny was the only one i found who would come out before. So I sent him a and quot;request a quoteand quot; from his site on a Wednesday and got a response that evening and then he was out by Friday!!! So all in all it was super quick (2-3 days from contact) and he did a great job!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about the quality and cost of their service. Punctual, professional and competitively priced. What more could you ask for?

Donny has been great. He is super-reliable and gets the job done very well. I wanted someone who would bag the clippings, then dump them in a certain spot in our more wooded area, and he was one of the few folks willing to do it. Others who only use riding mowers couldn't fit through our fence or get down our hill safely or couldn't bag and dump the way we wanted. But Donny does it all! I feel really fortunate that we found him.

Everything went great! With the help of 5 Star's services and all the rain we've had, my yard looks beautiful! Thanks Angie's List for a great referral.

I pay them based on the service they do. I have no complaints at all. I'm very satisfied with their service. They took 2 an half hours to complete the job. When I scheduled, they said they will be out in next two weeks; but they were out the next afternoon.
