Very knowledgeable, thorough in the furnace check up. Detected a small gas leak unrelated to the furnace and charged extra to repair this...I believe about 98.00. Also detected a leak around a radon installation and let me know about that. Original installer later fixed it. Very focused on a quality job.

The furnace pilot was on, however the furnace wouldn't run. Keith from Pronto was able to get it going and didn't charge extra. He originally thought a relay could be bad, but cleaned the electric connections and it worked! I will definitely call them next time I need my furnace or AC repaired or replaced.

Pronto oversaw all aspects of the geothermal installlation, from removal of old gas system to subcontractor management. They were real partners. In particular, retrofitting to old construction is a long process of tuning and tweaking the HVAC system. We had 6 months of tuning the system until all the kinks were worked out. I am VERY happy with my choice of Pronto especially after hearing stories of geothermal installs where support evaporated after the main work was done. They say they are in it for the long haul and that is what I saw. In fact, twice they just didn't know the answer to a noise problem and coordinated with an external expert for solutions -- and got the answer. I really enjoy working with a company that takes leadership to fix the problems. Persistent, patient, professional, and a real pleasure to work with.

We had 3 different companies coming out. It was the air conditioner that started to go on us. Everything was good. They were extremely tidy like they laid sheeting to walk on when they came through. We have a walk out to the back yard and they brought the furnace in that way. They came when they said they would and we did not have any issues. They weren’t the cheapest price but they had a fine reputation and we were really satisfied with the furnace and the air conditioner. I would recommend them.

Pronto had successfully done some work for me previously. Therefore, when it was clear my old furnace and air conditioner would have to be replaced, I contacted them. Nick came out to the house, checked our old equipment and duct work and discussed the project with me. He gave me an appraisal on two systems--a good one and a top-of-the-line, explaining the advantages of each. When I was ready to proceed I called and found they could come out the very next day . I was happy to hear that the installer would be Haso who had been the installer on my previous Pronto job. Haso and assistant arrived on time (7:30 a.m.), and by 4:00 pm I had a shiny new furnace and air conditioner installed and working, and the old equipment had been hauled away. They left the house clean and orderly. (They wore "floor savers" on their feet when in the house and began the day by stretching a plastic path from the door to the furnace.) Before they left they explained how to change the furnace filter and answered any questions I had. They explained that they would arrange for the city inspection and would be filing for three different rebates for me. A professional job. I highly recommend them.

We were given an 8am - 10am window and the tech arrived at 8:15am. Very courteous and even put on the disposable booties over his shoes to protect our carpeting. Very thorough job on the furnace. Even looked at our A/C unit (which we knew was not running properly prior to our service). Gave good, sound, and helpful advice on our A/C unit without charging me. I will definitely be having them back in the Spring to service our A/C issues.

I bought the $65.50 Heating System Tune-Up, Cleaning and Safety Check advertised on Angie's List. Keith came out promptly on the date scheduled and was a very nice professional guy. I'm not sure what to expect for a Heating System Tune-up, Cleaning, and Safety Check, but it didn't seem like a lot of work was done. I felt like the $65 deal was to get them in the door.. to allow Pronto to inspect the system, and then provide their products (Bryant Heat Pumps, Furnaces, Humidifiers, etc.).. which look to be of good quality.. and are VERY expensive. He did say he cleaned a couple parts and he did find that the Furnace Inducer was leaking and could cause problems in the future. He said one of their guys could replace it for $579. The furnace is old, so we agreed that perhaps it's best Not to sink a lot of money into an old furnace. He set up an appointment with Nick, who would go over some of their products. Nick came to my home promptly on 7/28/14. Very nice professional guy as well. He was set to make a sale.. had graphs, brochures, financing options.. He laid out 4 options with different Bryant products including Thermostat, Furnace, Filtration, and Condenser Choices (Heat Pumps) which ranged from $9,932 - $14,850 (which includes the promotion and "special pricing"). Ouch. However, if their calculations on Energy Savings are correct, over time, it would have saved me money. Still, that was way more than I could afford or willing to go into debt for. So I asked about simply replacing the Furnace Inducer. Nick gave me a price much higher than Keiths.. around $700! So I told Nick the price Keith quoted me at, and Keith said something along the lines that that price was a "level 4 pricing".? Anyway, I found another guy on Angie's List that replaced it for $405. So.. my feeling is, that Pronto may (?) be good and have a good product, but I think their prices are high. I recommend doing some homework and shopping around a bit. Looking at Consumer Reports... Bryant was rated the #1 Furnace (over Trane, American Standard, Carrier, Rheem...). American Standard was rated the #1 Conventional A/C system followed by Bryant, Trane, Lennox. And as far as Heat Pumps, American Standard was rated #1 again, followed by Trane, Carrier, Bryant, Rheem, Lennox... So, Bryant is always one of the top, but there are other very good systems to consider.. Good luck.

After the technician came I talked to him about what was wrong and what I had done as far as checking the system. he did a cursory check of the furnace area then proceeded outside. After checking the refrigerant levels he looked at the age of my system and immediately stated that I needed a complete new system for around $3,000.00. I asked if the system was low on refigerant and it wasn't I asked if the compressor was bad and he stated that it was a little noisy so it was going bad and needed to be replaced. His reasoning behind the complete system was that it had a type of refrigerant that was no longer used and it would be expensive to get it. His ultimate diagnosis was that the pan under the evaporator core was rotted out and leaking down on the furnace. he NEVER looked at the pan. after he gave me the estimate I started checking on things myself and through a friend I found another technician to come and check out the system. the end result was the drain pipe from the evaporator core was clogged and had the first technician actually checked things out he would have found that and should have only cost me the service charge but instead I paid Pronto $69.00 and the other technician $250.00 as he started to take the evaporator core apart per the first technicians recommendation an found the real problem and had to put the system back together. I felt that the Pronto technician was trying to line his pockets by installing a whole new system instead of finding the real problem.
Description of Work: We had water leaking from our evaporator core area. I discussed what was going on and the technician performed some preliminary checks. He checked pressures, refrigerant levels, and condensor.

Response from Pronto Heating & Air Conditioning
Pronto is sorry to have misdiagnosed the cause of the condensation leak. However, missing the cause of the problem was NOT due to a lack of being thorough or a lack of integrity. Our technician, Keith, disassembled the AC coil's drain fitting expecting a rush of condensation to drain out, but no water drained. Once the fitting was removed Keith was able to fish a small amount of debris from just inside the drain opening. The debris was discolored by rust, an indication that the metal drain pan is starting to deteriorate. Based on these findings Keith logically concluded that the condensation leak was caused by a leaking drain pan, NOT a backed-up drain hose or drain fitting. Based on this conclusion along with the age (20 years) and apparent condition of the AC system Keith recommended replacement. We are not sure how we missed this one? It is worth noting that Pronto's technician, Keith, met with the reviewer's husband, not the actual reviewer. Also, the reviewer's husband discussed the problem with Keith while watching him work. Pronto would like to offer the reviewer a no-charge diagnostic service call or a complimentary furnace tune-up. Regards, Greg Sedgwick

These guys are the "Lexus" or "Mercedes- Benz" of heating and air conditioning! Quite possibly the finest overall buying experience we have ever enjoyed on any product, ever. From beginning to end the professionalism and attention to detail was simply amazing for this day and age. If we rave about this company please understand we had never heard of them before in our lives and have absolutely no connection to them whatsoever! They are simply outstanding in every regard. Sales, scheduling, delivery, installation, and programming units and showing us how to use all the new features. Communications and unbeatable warranty are their claims to fame, plus they only sell the industry's top rated product. It started with a look at the top rated Heating/AC brand in Consumer Reports (Bryant), then to Angie's list to see who sells Bryant in the Twin Cities. Turns out Pronto is at the very top of the listings and is consistently one of Bryant's top dealers in the nation. During salesman Kurt's initial visit he took a careful look at our house and measured rooms and looked at registers and air-flows etc. Then he clearly reviewed our options with us so we could make an educated buying decision on this, a significant financial expenditure. We knew that our systems, while still functional, were very old and inefficient and probably costing us literally thousands a year in excess utility costs. Kurt told us that in addition to being much more efficient and quieter the house would feel more comfortable year around due to precise temperature, fan, and humidity control. We thought to ourselves, "Maybe, but we'll settle for lower utility bills". Because it was a big job they sent two crews and completed a nice clean installation for both new systems the same day. Within hours the house was perceptibly more comfortable and the difference in temp between upper and lower levels was almost negligible wheras it had always been 10 or more degrees for the past 30 years. They did all the paperwork for the rebates, came on time for every appointment to within the minute and always kept us informed of what was happening by e-mail, phone calls and texts. Amazing customer service, competitive prices, and great attitude from everyone on their team... plus they answer their own phones 24/7! We unconditionally recommend them. Yes, it was a very major purchase, but we got the best and the best people to install it.
Description of Work: Installed two new Bryant furnace and air conditioning systems to replace 20 and 30 years old units, respectively. They also hooked up humidifiers for both furnaces and installed new digital wi-fi enabled thermostats.

Pronto showed up on time. The service tech was friendly, professional and informative. He got the heater working no problem and told me how to use it and things to watch out for. It was a fairly simple call, but one with which I really needed professional assistance. I wish all service calls were as easy and smooth as this one. I would recommend Pronto to friends and family.

UPDATE #1 - 11/13/14: On top of being SPAMMERS, they are DISHONEST or mistaken about removing my email address from their Spam-list. Since posting my original review (see below), and since Wade Sedgwick (Owner) posted his original response, I have received two more SPAM emails from Pronto. The first came on 9/22/14, 1:59PM. The second came today, 11/13/14, at 11:01AM. I will continue to update my review of this spamming company until Wade makes good on his word to remove my contact information from his Spam-list. I've also lowered my rating of their "professionalism" based on the snarky reply posted to my original review. ORIGINAL REVIEW - 08/09/14: Since purchasing my furnace and AC from a different company, I have received endless promotional SPAM emails from Pronto. (They've also sent numerous junk mail items through regular snailmail too.) The first SPAM email came on 8/3/13. The second on 4/5/14. The third on 4/29/14. The fourth on 6/9/14. The fifth on 7/22/14. The sixth and most recent was on 8/19/14. They are all from "Wade at Pronto". I tried the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the first two emails I received. This didn't work, and the senseless promotional emails kept coming. So I forwarded one of their unsolicited emails to them and asked to be removed from their list on 6/9/14. I received a reply from Crystal Nellermoe the same day assuring me I would be removed. But I wasn't. I sent a more firm message to Crystal in reply to the SPAM from 7/22/14, and received another email from her reading, "Hi, I apologize - we've changed marketing companies and there may have been a miss in the email opt outs. I will notify them promptly to avoid a future email. Thanks - Crystal " OK, fine, these things happen. But unfortunately, this hasn't worked either and the SPAM continues to come. And now I'm fed up with this irresponsible SPAMMING. So after their most recent SPAM on 8/19/14, I've decided to formally review this company here on Angie's List. The Pronto rep who visited our house was very courteous and professional, I'm sure they would have done a fine job, but in the end, they were not the most competitive option for us. All I can say now about Pronto is that despite my repeated requests to receive no more SPAM emails from them, I continue to do so. In fact, the SPAM emails seem to be coming monthly now. I wish I had never contacted them. If you enjoy receiving SPAM, then by all means, request a quote from Pronto. Otherwise, think twice.
Description of Work: A SPAMMING COMPANY. DO NOT REQUEST A QUOTE FROM THEM! I contacted this company (Pronto) for a quote on a new furnace and AC. They were one of three companies we received quotes from. In the end, they were not the most competitive option, so I bought a new furnace and AC from another company, you might call it a standard heating and air conditioning company. We've been very happy with the price and service we received from this standard company, and I highly recommend you go with a standard company over Pronto. The latter is a company that SPAMS, and I believe spamming is among the lowest of the low-life things a company can do these days. They should know better.

[member name removed], I'm sorry that we were not the cheapest option for you. At Pronto we work very hard to provide the absolute best service and we custom design & build each installation to maximize comfort and efficiency for each homeowner. Sometimes we just can't provide Nordstrom service & quality at Kmart pricing. I know you would have been delighted with our staff if you had used Pronto. Maybe next time? Until then, we have removed you from all of our outbound mail & e-mail lists. It's obvious that you don't like to receive e-mails. We are sorry to have bothered you. Wade Sedgwick - Owner

I received a few bids from companies to replace our old furnance/ac and water heater. Pronto's bid was just a little more expensive but their financing option (25 months no interest) was the best. The salesman arrived on a Monday (on time) and was professional with no pressure. I needed a few days to weigh the options from all the companies. That weekend I decided to go with Pronto and sent an email on Sunday (I was not expecting to hear from anyone). I received an email back from Max the sales advisor who met with me earlier that week. We ironed out all the details and Pronto scheduled the install for the coming Wednesday. At 7 am sharp they showed up and started working. They were extremely professional. I had anticipated this taking all day. By 2 pm they were wrapping up! They lead tech was very knowledgable. There was one change we had to make due to the AC unit I selected not fitting in the area where I wanted it. So we went with a smaller unit. This changed the pricing so the paperwork was incorrect. I contacted Pronto's office and talked to Greg. He was aware of the difference in price and said he would have it corrected. About 15 mins later a Pronto employee was at my door with the new paperwork. I am very impressed with the level of customer service from the initial appointment through the install. My decision to go with Pronto was validated by the way they treat their customers and the quality of their work. I am very pleased with the experience and with the ease of working with Pronto!

I told them that I was an Angie's List member and they gave me their deal for $69. They were able to fit me in that day and arrived within the time frame they gave me. They also gave me a 30 minute notice before they arrived that I requested. After being there for 5-10 minutes he said that the noise was becasue the unit was clogged and said that it would take a "tier 1" cleaning and would cost an additional $89. I asked why it wasn't part of the service I paid for and he told me that it was an advanced cleaning that wasn't covered and did not give me the details. When I asked for additional details he seemed annoyed and didn't want to explain anything to me. I watched him unscrew the casing, bring it outside, and hose it down. This took 10 minutes MAX. I do not think the $89 was a fair price for the additional work done. I understand that some things are not covered and am ok with paying for services but do not feel the price justified the work. I have used Pronto before and they have done a good job. I plan to use Pronto for my yearly cleanings but if they continue tack on unfair additional charges I will have to find a new heating and air company.

Response from Pronto Heating & Air Conditioning
[member name removed], I'm sorry that our phone representative & our technician did not explain our pricing in enough detail. The $69.00 charge was a discounted Trip Charge to to the home. Our regular Trip Charge is $129. The Trip Charge includes a thorough diagnostic check of the cooling system to determine the cause of the AC failure. Once the technician determines the cause of the failure they always present a Flat Rate repair price. The repair prices range from a little under $100 to more than $1,000. I wish we could charge only the $69 for a complete service & repair of an air conditioner but unfortunately our costs (and everyone other AC companies costs) are way higher than $69. If we consistently charged only the $69 for repairs we would be out of business. There are many expenses that go into running a home service repair business. Everyone always thinks -- it's just the techs labor & the parts involved. But really we have to pay for a ton of other things like: the Pronto truck, gas, tools, phones, computers, business insurance, auto insurance, health insurance, rent for the office, salaries for office employees, uniforms, training, garbage service, utilities, marketing, furniture, recycling charges, a forklift, copy machines.... and it goes on and on. I apologize that we couldn't provide service at a cheaper price but I really want Pronto be around to provide quick, professional, & honest service for the next generation and beyond. Please call me any time if you would like to discuss any of this. Thanks for your business! Wade Sedgwick - Owner - 952-818-9785

Pronto lived up to their name. I sold my house to a first time buyer who insisted on a furnace tune up / inspection of my relatively new furnace as part of the purchase agreement. I wasn't even sure I could get a furnace tune up in July, but Pronto came through for me. Everything worked out great. They were having a half price Big Deal and they were able to come out within a few days. The woman setting up the appointment went out of her way to make sure that I knew they needed to run the furnace to perform the service and then finding the coolest day of the week for the appointment. While I don't recommend getting a furnace tune up in July, I do recommend Pronto.
