We serve Minneapolis & St Paul as well as the surrounding suburbs. We manage Pronto from a local office & we are committed to providing friendly, hassle-free service and employing only the best technicians. You may recognize us from another local air conditioning company. The Sedgwick family sold its business in 1999 to a national manufacturer and Wade and Greg stayed on to run the business from 1999 through March 2008. We opened Pronto because we felt we could provide a personalized experience and exceptional customer service by managing our entire business from a local office. We are committed to providing friendly, hassle-free service and employing only the best technicians. Pronto is proud to have won the Bryant 2009 Dealer of the Year award. We interviewed three installers and Pronto had the lowest priced and recommended a product that would fit our space well. Our house was your typical MPLS bungalow with an open second half story. We had a difficult time finding a product that could be installed in the space because of the short walls, and windows on both ends. Pronto was able to make a unit fit in the space and look attractive, it even had a heat pump for heating on non below 30 degree days. Would recommend them again.

It went well. Jon was very professional and did a great job. However, Pronto (and myself) forgot about the inspection until last month. The city inspector did notice that there were not sufficient insulation around the tubing that led to the outside. I happened to have some insulation and the inspector installed it for me. The inspection passed.

The diagnosis was good and service was responsive, but their pricing was not competitive.

Pronto had me replace a fully functioning furnace! Technician arrived and said a part in the furnace had failed and we needed to replace furnace. I got a bid from another company for a furnace and went with the other company for the furnace. After new furnace was installed there was still water on the floor. Ends up it was the water heater that was leaking. The furnace company that installed the new furnace said Pronto should have done a more extensive standard procedure for determining the part had failed before determining we needed a new furnace (the company that installed the new furnace did not diagnose the problem - they only bid on a new furnace which is what I asked them to do). I replaced a furnace that did not need to be replaced and all I got was a sorry from Pronto.

[Member Name Removed], I did review the service ticket for the job from 03/03/15. When we were out we found the heat exchanger was leaking and cracked on your 30 year old furnace. This is not uncommon in a unit of that age. I understand the frustration of having to replace any appliance and having a furnace and water heater both leaking at the same time is understandably even more frustrating. We were called out to diagnose the furnace and found it needed to have the heat exchanger replaced. Due to the extreme age of the furnace and also the cost of having to replace a faulty heat exchanger we recommended replacement. I agree that we should have looked at the water heater at the same and recommended replacing both instead of just the furnace. Being it has been two years I can not say if the water heater was leaking at the time our service tech was out or not. We made our best recommendation in regards to your home and families safety.

A Pronto technician came out to our recently purchased home for a furnace and hot water heater tune-up. He was polite and professional. It only took him a minute to look at the furnace before he found a large crack in the heat exchanger so he didn’t do the furnace tune-up. We had some questions which he seemed to answer knowledgably. We received a home warranty from the seller of this home so we decided to pursue the purchase of a new furnace through that warranty. The technician did work on the hot water heater but wasn’t able to drain the sediment because the hose fitting on his hose broke. He mentioned that it most probably had not been maintained over the years; so I would think that draining the sediment would be important and according to Pronto's website it is part of the cleaning/tune-up. Despite the fact that he didn’t do the tune-up on the furnace and didn’t do a complete tune-up on the hot water heater we were still charged the $148.50 that we were quoted for the two tune-ups. We signed the invoice stating that we were satisfied with what had been done and we paid the invoice so I guess I should be happy but I feel a bit ripped off. I didn’t know that the water heater hadn’t been drained until after the technician left. My husband talked to him more than I did and I don’t think he realized that that was supposed to be part of the tune up. And honestly, our furnace had just basically been ‘red tagged’ and we were a little shell shocked.

Awesome! Very pricey, but I know these necessities of a home can cost a fair amount plus all the staff and labor that goes into it. Pronto was very much on time. All men were courteous and respectful of our home (covering their shoes, full protection of our floors and carefully carrying large items (furnace pieces and large boxes) in and out w/o damaging walls, etc..). John was the "go to" guy during the entire installation. He went above and beyond, even figuring out a way to supply extra heat to the coldest bedroom, which we have tried for years with other companies and no luck. John was very friendly, knowledgeable, and excellent in walking me through each step of learning our new programmable system. Highly recommend!!!

Pronto came out very quickly and at first said it would be a couple days to get a new air conditioner installed (hottest week of the year) but the next morning they called saying they had located a unit for us and had it installed by mid afternoon. We needed our water heater moved to another location due to some basement work we were preparing for. They sent Mike out to do the work for us and unfortunately there wasn't enough information relayed between the appointment setter and Mike about the exact work that needed to be done. Mike came unprepared but worked it out so that he could get all the work done for us in a proper and thorough manner. I appreciate how hard he worked and in the end he did a great job!

Called to have a salesman come out to the house for a quote. the salesman Jeff was very prompt, polite and the quote was reasonable so decided to go with Pronto. I probably could have gotten a better price through a smaller "mom and pop" business but I felt that a larger company would require less hand-holding and supervising, which I didn't have time to deal with around the holidays. I was very wrong about that. Scheduled the install for just a couple days later, I believe for 12/20/16. The installers, Jim, John and Bill were all very prompt and the work appeared to be done well. Found out one of the radiators had a leak once the system was filled. They were able to find a used radiator and install that for me as well for an extra charge, but that seemed reasonable as well and was done promptly just a few days later on 12/23 At that point the only things left were mechanical inspection and electrical inspection. I was told someone from the company would be contacting me to schedule that. This is where I made my mistake. I paid them before the work was completely done (including inspections). The next week went without any contact from the company regarding scheduling the inspections. I started calling them on 1/3/17 to see what the status was. The receptionist said she'd get my contact info over to the person that deals with scheduling and she'd call me back. Never heard back after a couple days so called back again. Come to find out that person had been out of the office sick for some time so no one was working on getting these inspections scheduled. Escalated the issue to I believe one of the owners who said he'd make sure it was looked at first thing in the morning. I had repeatedly expressed urgency on this because we were supposed to sell the house on 1/13. I ended up calling the city, getting the mechanical inspector's contact info and scheduling him to come out as no one at pronto was picking up the slack for the person who was out of the office. Inspector came out I believe on 1/6 and wasn't able to clear the permit due to not having a heat loss test performed. I believe this test should have been done by the salesman as I remember one of the other company's sales guys doing this test as part of the quote to determine what size boiler was necessary. I called pronto to find out if that test had been done and if not, get someone out to the house to do it. They also wanted to call inspector to find out exactly which test was missing. Come to find out the inspector is now on vacation! This is obviously out of pronto's control but it shouldn't have even dragged on this long anyway. Luckily the inspector covering for him said the test wasn't really necessary and was fine signing off on it without that. So bottom line, this entire process took from 12/20 to 1/9 to fully get resolved, just days before we were due to sell the home. The process started off very well but the communication and promptness broke down due to that one person being out sick for a few days. I understand that is out of their control however at some point someone has to take over and get the job done. Unfortunately I ended up having to step up to get the inspection scheduled and escalate the issue to the owner, which should not have been necessary.
