SEARS HOME IMPROVEMENT PRODUCTS

The washer was delivered and the old one removed. The hot & cold connections at the shutoff valves were clearly marked "Hot (red) & Cold (blue)" but the installation engineer disregarded the information and connected the hoses in reverse. When the engineer ran a cold rinse to check the connections, the washer filled with hot water and steam rose from the tub. This indication of the incorrect connections was also disregarded - even when my wife pointed it out! The engineer then told my wife that the plumbing in the house was wrong and it was not his problem. My wife, reluctantly, signed for delivery but not the for the correct installation. When my wife contacted Sears Appliances complaints she received "Customer No Service" three times. She then called a local plumber to correct the problem adding another charge to the installation.

After 10 days of "searching for a certified Sears repair technician" Sears finally told us to find a local technician to do the repairs on our heat pump. The parts are still under warranty, but when the technician that I hired called their parts department they did not cooperate in helping to find the parts needed. Since the technician was not certified as a Sears technician he obviously didn't know the part numbers, without the part numbers they would not send the parts. I ended up paying for $100 worth of parts that are still under warranty as well as paying the labor. Sears refused to help us in any way.
