Todd at Woodland was great to work with as was his crew, Chad and Andrew, who were outstanding. Their work was the best painting job we've ever had done. Chad was very fussy about making sure everything was done just right. I would definitely use again.

Todd was extremely responsive with pricing and got the job done quickly and professionally. The crew was great.....timely, polite, and very accommodating with additional requests/changes. Working with them was a great experience. Todd even stopped over a few days after the crew had finished to touch up a spot I hadn't even noticed!

Poor workmanship. Sloppy, careless, unprofessional paint job with little attention to detail. Todd was responsive, professional, and did well at trying to remedy the sloppiness...but painters cracked a vintage sink, clogged the sink, left paint globs in it, clearly didn't tape much of trim, left paint swashes on doors, door frames, door knobs, floor boards, a book case, left hand prints on walls and ceiling beams. They didn't even dust railings from dry wall fall out before painting, so they were like sand paper. Todd said he doesn't have time to check all the jobs when they're complete. Sounds like quantity and money are more important than quality. Todd was accommodating in coming back to retouch, but it was a hassle, the sink is still clogged, and it should have been done right the first time. Painters did repair a wall, which was done well.

Excellent. Careful prep work ensured no damage to landscaping and brick areas. Trim lines were sharp on all windows and edges. Asked me to check work as they progressed to ensure I was satisfied. Owner stopped over to inspect and had them redo one door. Owner also left feedback sheet for us, which I appreciated. Professional, neat, excellent job!

We moved into a 40+ year old home that we purchased from the original owners. The ceilings had tons of holes in them from former plants or other items that were hung there, plus they were a little too yellow in color for our taste when we're remodeling the rest of the home. They were 1 of 3 estimates we got and were the best value. They repaired and painted the ceilings in our entire house (including the finished part of our basement) and were done in two days. This was the best money we ever spent, it would have taken my husband and I weeks to do this with the rest of the work we have going on in our remodel. Owner and his team were friendly, professional and very informative. Stayed a little bit longer than planned on the second day to make sure the job was done to their level of quality. Would definitely recommend and will be using them again in the future for professional painting needs.

From the beginning, Todd (owner) kept in close contact through text and email. Came promptly for estimate and returned shortly thereafter with color wheel to help me select colors. We scheduled within 2 weeks of estimate and he was able to offer me a 3 day turn-around window for such a large job, which I was very pleased about. Todd came the first morning to introduce the painters and verbally review with me and his employees (not sublet workers) the areas we discussed for painting, ceiling texture repairs, nail hole patches, and replacement of hardware. The workers were friendly to my inquisitive 4.5yr old and arrived promptly every day at our pre-arranged start times. They draped the entire house with plastic and protected furniture/belongings. I did very little in the way of moving/prepping the areas - they did it all. At the end of each day, they cleaned the house and neatly stacked their supplies/tools out of the way. Overall we are very happy with service and will hire them again in a few months to paint the upstairs of the house. Pros: Use quality paint from Benjamin Moore/Sherwin Williams Assisted with changing hardware for chandeliers/recessed lighting cans. Quality repair work and painting Friendly trustworthy employees who clearly know what they are doing regarding customer service and quality craftsmanship. Con: We had to leave the house for the ceiling painting and my 4.5 year old REALLY wanted to help. :)

I have worked with Woodland Painting in the past. I have invited them back to continue the painting projects at my house. Todd is wonderful to work with. His crew arrived on time, did a wonderful job and were very efficient. There were three painters the first day and four painters the second day. The entire project only took 1 1/2 days! I couldn't be happier. I look forward to bringing them back for another job in the future.

Because of the size of this job, I solicited bids and choose Woodland Painting. The job entailed patching, removing speakers in several rooms and patching the holes, painting walls and baseboards and removing "popcorn" in one room. The crew arrived each day when promised and cleaned up as much as possible after each day's work. The crew tried to cause as little disruption as possible in my home. They were courteous and clearly enjoyed their work. The work was completed when promised, and the quality was excellent. I especially appreciated the owner's suggestions of which paints to use. He came back after the job was completed and did some small touch-up tasks. I would recommend Woodland to others and would definitely consider using them again.

Wonderful job. Walls look new and there was quite a bit of repair work that needed to be done as the wallpaper had been placed on walls that weren't properly prepped. Todd had a crew a 3 that were able to come in and the job was finished AHEAD of time. Would highly recommend them and I will use them again!

I had procrastinated on lining up a painter to paint the new window frames and jams. I was prepared to have to wait to have it done. I contacted Woodland and was surprised at their responsiveness and willingness to help me get the project done. I could tell that Woodland juggled a couple of jobs to work me in. Heath, one of the owners, came to the house right away, game me what I consider a fair price, and got us on the schedule for the following week. The 2 person crew got the job done over parts of 2 days with professionalism and efficiency. About all I had to do was point to the rooms where the windows and been replaced and they did the rest with minimal inconvenience to us.

We met with Todd Anderson, owner of Woodland Painting Inc, who provided a very detailed estimate of the painting surfaces to be done, the cost of materials and labor. We had the choice of one coat at $5606 or two coats at $7147. We went with two coats to provide the longest coverage. The lower cost was about the cost of the least expensive of the three bids we obtained and the higher two coat cost was three times less than the most expensive! We trusted the high ranking of this company on Angies List and were not disappointed. The house was power washed first and then Pete and crew showed up the next day to do prep work. They were very pleasant and suggested they paint the foundation also, which they usually did, as it looks nicer. They were very tidy, pulled back mulch and/or rock, bushes, plants, etc. We found no evidence of paint splatters anywhere. The total job took about five days and looks great! We would hire this company again and would recommend them to anyone.

They were very prompt in returning my emails and seemed at ease communicating via email unlike many contractors. The bathrooms we had done were ready for remodeling and I did indicate there would be some mud work for these walls. I would give initial (see below) quality of the mud work a C. There were a couple areas in one bathroom I thought should have been finished better. However, most of those were covered with items so I didn't worry about it. The second bathroom had a paint ridge from older painting and a sheet rock seem that was very obvious. I discussed this with them and they were willing to work on it but I decided to move on. In the end, the job was less than the estimate. I decided the professionalism and quality were good enough for me and we had them come back to do the bigger job of the kitchen, living room, stairway, family room and fix the bathroom. Our living room is vaulted off a 9 foot wall and the stairway is at the peak so it was a job I wasn't willing to take on. This all included a fair amount of mud work it all turned out really well. They did the job for the amount quoted and included painting our front door which wasn't discussed previously. A couple minor nit-picks. On the first job I noticed them washing equipment. First, I wish they had asked as I would have pointed them to the downstairs sink which is the worst in the house vs our remodeled laundry room sink with a cambria counter top and nice sink. Secondly, I indicated no paint should go down our drain as we have a septic/drain field. They listened and stopped, and before they even started the next job indicated they wouldn't be washing their equipment on-site. Its not a big deal but I do wish contractors in general were more aware of taking care of houses with drain fields. Finally, the order of their tasks might have been better. As they worked on the bathroom re-do last, they seemed a bit rushed waiting for mud and paint to dry. So much so they forgot to remove some tape and clean up carefully. I don't want to end on a negative though. I thought they did a great job on a difficult house (vaulted ceiling, walls that needed mud work). They did the jobs for the amounts quoted or less. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Initially we had two bathrooms and a master bedroom painted. Then we had them return and paint our kitchen, living room, stairway and a family room.

I had to write a review for this company even I has not used their service yet. However I need other customers see this review before they contact this company. 1) I used Angielist yesterday to search a good painting company that can paint my house. I found Woodland Painting Inc based on the good reviews. I made a call this morning and left a detailed message such as my name, phone number, address, I installed new siding last year and need new exterior paint this year. 2) two hours later someone called me back. He said " I heard you are looking for a painting company. What year your house built in? we do not paint house that built in before 1950!" I answered him" my house was built in 1956." Then he said" we dont paint house like this." He was in a hurry to end the conversation. Then I said " I just got new siding last year!" He said " then we can paint your house now!" What a joke. How you can reject a good customer without listening her detailed voice message, how you can reject a customer without having her finish her words in the phone. He wanted to set up an appointment with me. I told him sorry, I am going to pass this. 3) I do house remodeling and selling house business. I am alwasy pay my contractors ahead or on time. So far I have not seen any company as rude as this Woodland Painting Inc. If you do not want to paint houses built in or before 1950 in MINNESOTA, PLEASE ADDRESS THIS IN YOUR COMPANY PROFILE. Say: WE DO NOT HELP ASIAN, WE DO NOT PAINT OLD OR UGLY HOUSES!!! WE ONLY PAINT BRAND NEW HOUSES!!!!!!

Response from Woodland Painting Inc
Hi (removed member name), We are certified to paint pre-1978 homes but we have chose not to on the exterior and it is explained on our Angie's List Profile. The following is our policy: "Thanks for your interest in Woodland Painting. Was your home built prior to 1978? If so, because of the RRP Lead Safety and OSHA Lead rules we have chosen not to paint those properties. Because we don't paint very many older homes are pricing was out on line. The painting contractors that specialize in these homes are able to give you better service. If you have a post 1978 home lets set up a time for an estimate." We were not trying to exclude you and we do paint pre-1978 interiors. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
