From the beginning we were impressed with how Twin City Siding Professionals handled our project. They responded immediately to our initial inquiry and set up an appointment for their representative to meet with us. This initial phone call was quickly followed up with an email confirming the appointment and including a photo and biographical info. on the person who would meet us in our home. They submitted a quote in a timely manner and sat down with us to explain it in great detail. Their quote was higher than either of the other two contractors who bid, but we concluded that TCSP was the right company to go with. This decision was based on our being convinced that their process for installing the James Hardie siding was much more meticulous and detailed than the other contractors had discussed. They assured us that their installation would result in trouble free and maintenance free protection for our house for years to come. The TCSP people also gave us options on both the siding and the window details such that we could evaluate those options in the light of meeting our total budget restrictions. They went out of their way to outline the various options and were very willing to make changes and/or answer our questions and concerns. The project was started on time and was finished on time. We had specified a date by which we hoped the project would be finished (because we were expecting out of town company for a week's visit), and they worked hard and diligently to comply with our wishes. They finished on time! The crew working on our house was efficient and pleasant to have working around our property. They exercised extreme care in protecting our landscaping, our personal items, etc. They were hard working and very professional in how they approached each task. It was a pleasure to watch them work! In addition, they cleaned up after every day's work and left the area around our house in great condition after the project was completed. In short, we thoroughly enjoyed the business relationship with Twin City Siding Professionals. We would heartily recommend them to anyone facing a remodeling project such as ours.
Description of Work: We have a 38 year old house with cedar siding. After suffering years of abuse from woodpeckers, squirrels and other animals, we determined that the siding had to be replaced. In addition, four windows on the east side of the house had begun to rot, so we were advised it was necessary to replace those windows as well.

I have to admit that this was the scariest purchase that I've ever made in my life... We had purchased our home "as-is" and had no idea whether we would uncover extensive damage when stucco was removed. SO GRATEFUL that we contacted TCSP for a bid! They were not the cheapest option, but definitely very reasonable and offered the best-value in expertise and services. The process began with Tom, our sales person. He helped us see the big picture -- including replacements of some windows and doors. He brought in Curt and Nate -- two highly detailed pros that made sure all our details and special requests were handled. The team patiently explained all contingencies and helped us understand how much we would have to budget -- even if a worst-case scenario was uncovered (thankfully, it wasn't that bad). Terry, the owner, even came by to meet my husband and I. We were ready to begin our project as winter set in... Andy, our crew's lead, was PHENOMENAL as well! Always top-quality focused, always providing us the best solutions for challenges encountered along the way, always smiling (even as temps dipped below 0!) Give that guy a raise!!! Happy to rate them a perfect 10... I have already recommended them to our neighbors. They are great. :-)

They were efficient, neat and helped me move a few heavier items. Very professional. Terry has also bid our townhouse association for siding which has been started in James Hardie product. The job requires special attention to detail and paint quality. We are hoping to have the funding to finish with the Hardie product.
Description of Work: TCS has painted my entire townhouse first floor in their off season, but I did not feel slighted that my job was just "fit in". Terry the owner, personally bid and measured, he and another man did the job.

We picked Twin Cities Siding based on their reputation for quality work because we don't have the knowledge or the time to constantly monitor a remodeling job to ensure it is being done right. I believe we got what we were expecting - we gave them a list of items and allowed them to schedule and complete the job without much monitoring or frequent reviewing of the progress. We increased the scope during the pre-construction meeting and added window/door replacements to the project in addition to the siding job. They were able to quickly adjust the work order and accommodate our request. The job took longer than we had originally planned because of the weather but they were very good at communicating any changes to the schedule. Curt Dingmann, the Field Supervisor was extremely helpful and guided us through the selection of materials, windows and provided good advice throughout the project. He stopped by several times to meet us, provide schedule updates and also check if we had any questions or concerns. Bryan Aase and his crew (Steve Haider and Mike Aase) were extremely professional and friendly. They kept the job site neat and safe, and very clearly knew what they were doing. The entire process was very stress-free and focused on meeting our expectations, which I think is overall the best part about having hired Twin Cities Siding. We didn't have to worry about the quality of work based on their reputation and with the warranty they claim to stand behind, I am sure if any problems do come up, they will fix it. This experience certainly put them at the top of our list of choices for some more projects we have in mind and I?d happily recommend them to anyone looking for a great experience and quality work.

I have given this a long period of time before reviewing to be sure my perspective is as objecive as possible. If you are going to use this provider: 1) be sure you get dates in the contract-when they will start and how long it will take-we were to have this done in 2013 but got delayed so long we waited for spring 2014 and they still did not start until June. It then took several weeks to complete-so long that materials on our lawn killed the grass underneath 2)if you really want a general contractor-these aren't the people. They really want to sell you siding-all other services are negotiated separately ie roof, gutters, electrical 3)be sure someone is monitoring the crew-our neighbors reported someone sleeping in a truck outside our home while the rest of the crew worked 4)be VERY careful if you are considering the Hardie ColorPlus siding. Out of the box and on our house it looked uneven in color and coating as though it had been there a number of years. We were told by the hardie rep to "let it weather".Why would you pay extra money for something that doesn't look right from the beginning? Tour some homes with NEW recent siding to see if you like the finish before you spend all that money. 5) The person who installed our new doors did it incorrectly-modifications were made but it is too low to have any kind of rug clearance at the front door. Our home looks very nice in the right light. If the sun is shining wrong you can see the uneven surface which wil bother me always. We will spend this spring either putting in new sod or seed where areas of our grass were killed. We essentially had a summer where I could not do gardenng around the house because everything was so drawn out. I would not use these people again.

Response from Twin Cities Siding & Roofing
As we are celebrating our 20 year anniversary of being in business, my wife and I are very thankful for the thousands of customers that have trusted us enough to help them beautify and maintain their home. Our recommendation rating is over 99% - almost perfect. However, we are not perfect. But we certainly outstrip our competition in the ways and means we use to correct any problems or confusion that may occur throughout the process - from the second a potential customer contacts us to years down the road if any warranty were to occur. I do realize that no matter what we do or how we hard we try and use our best skills, we cannot satisfy every customer. (It is hard for me to admit.) We work very diligently to properly set customer expectations. We certainly do "GC" more than a hundred projects a year. We have clients that want to save money - and, therefore, we allow them to hire gutter installers, or roofers, and we even let people buy their own doors (or windows) to save money. The downside to that is sometimes when people buy their own doors, they order the wrong size and it doesn't quite perform the way they would like. We have installed thousands of windows and doors and work our level best to make sure every window and door fits and works to its optimal level. Our hands are tied somewhat when we are working with a door that we did not have a hand in purchasing. We do run behind schedule sometimes - especially because of the acute labor shortage in the construction industry that we are experiencing. What I will not do is find some unsuitable subcontractors to "push a job through". We do get behind schedule sometimes due to weather, volume and other assorted reasons and are very proactive in informing our customers. We have installed James Hardie ColorPlus on over 1,000 homes. We give out addresses to all of our customers and strongly encourage them to drive around and see the different colors and see if they like it. All of our clients have been very happy with most of them being thrilled with how it beautifies their home. However, I realize that many people have different tastes. We met many times onsite and drove around to look at the finish on many homes, and we validated with numerous James Hardie representatives that the finish and color of the product we installed was, indeed, the correct finish and color. We are very clear in our marketing and all communication with our clients that we strive for 100% customer satisfaction. So in the very rare times it doesn't, it makes us more determined to be even better in the future.

It went great. I'm pretty sure the old windows were the house's original ones (circa 1934) , and they were in very bad shape. Drafty, single-paned, lots of rot and decay in the frames. This was a job that couldn't be put off any longer. TCSP repaired ALL the frames, installed new double-paned thermal windows for most of the old ones. In the bathroom where the window frame was a particular disaster because of moisture, TCSP repaired the frame and installed a glass block window that lets in light but still provides privacy. On four windows which I did not wish to replace because I wanted to retain certain architectural features, TCSP, again repaired frames and then installed new screens and storms. From the beginning of the project, I was impressed by TCSP's focus on customer service. I interviewed and received estimates from several potential providers. Frankly, TCSP was the one I felt safest with. They gained my confidence that the job would be done well. Throughout the project communications and questions were responded to promptly. As a matter of fact, questions were encouraged. Answers and explanations were offered clearly (sometimes repeatedly) and always patiently. Here is what I wrote to Terry Stammen after the project was finished: Hello Terry, I want to thank you and everyone at Twin Cities Siding Professionals for my new windows. They're great. I'm very pleased. The project was completed in a timely fashion. All the workmen were able, pleasant and courteous. Curt was particularly helpful in tying up loose ends. The windows themselves are wonderful. I will have no hesitation about recommending TCSP to others in the future. Thank you again, very much. Tim Cope

We've lived and owned homes in Montana and Louisiana before moving to Minneapolis last September. We have dealt with contractors for various home ownership projects over the past 30+ years. Twin Cities Siding Professionals was by far our best experience. This is a well-oiled company that does everything to perfection. Promises made during the meetings with a marketing specialist (sales person, Chad) and then the project supervisor (Nate) were kept exactly as stated verbally and by writing. Everything was done in a timely manner as promised and the final bill was exactly as stated in the initial bid. The crew was led by Angelo who personally did the very tedious prep work and supervised the performance of his well-trained workers (Leah, Zach and Jake). They began working each day by 7:30AM and worked until 4:30PM or later and never abandoned our project to work elsewhere. On his own initiative, Angelo even elected to work part of one Saturday. Angelo estimated that the job would take two weeks, but it was completed in nine days. The crew was always courteous to us and to our neighbors. Despite the impressive amount of debris generated during the work along with tools and equipment and supplies, by the end of each day everything was cleaned up as well as possible, including our neighbor's yards. I highly recommend with confidence and enthusiasm TCSP and would happily employ them again for future projects.

My experience with Thomas Lee and Twin Cities Siding Professionals went very poorly. A appointment was made for a specific time on Friday, May 30, 2014. Design Consultant Thomas Lee was late. He handed me a brochure that I later learned was from the previous (2013) season. He made some recommendations to me regarding design elements for a project to replace fully the siding and gutters on my home. After 30 days of not hearing anything from Thomas Lee or Twin Cities Siding Professionals, I have decided to pursue another route for my exterior needs. I fully realize the rating of this company is high and I realize it has received few negative responses.

This is one of the two best partners I have ever contracted with in my life. They always called back and showed up when they said they would which seems to be rare. All the work is top notch and done as if it was their own house they were working on. Their attention to detail is quite remarkable. I have a lot of questions when I have things done and they answered them all. From the beginning until the work was completed everybody did a great job. We made a couple of changes along the way and the entire TCSP team did them happily and without complaint. The site was cleaned up at the end of each day and they even came back after it was completed to pick up any loose debris around the house. Prior to the job I visited with several siding pros. All were in about the same ballpark on quotes, and I can say that I have no doubt there is any company better from start to finish than these folks.

Actually they were great. The only drop back and kind of the overall supervisor, we had some minor issues with but it was resolved. I think he was a little destructed because his wife was having a baby at the same time. It was understanding but the site foreman was wonderful, he kept the crew going, they finished on time, very clean and they also sub contracted a roofer and they were out-standing.

We had a hard time picking out the colors we wanted. They should start on the siding December 2. They are a little behind because of the weather. We finally started work the first full week of December. The weather was very bad and delays in work are understood. They are restricted when weather was below zero and high winds. They will be back in April to finish painting and plugging all the nail holes in the siding. They also will be sanding and painting around door frames. This will take a couple of days when warmer weather arrives. They will also clean the yard because of all the snow some scraps were covered. The employees were very courteous. We are very happy with the colors and the change in the appearance of the house.

When my husband and I decided that we wanted to re-side our home using James Hardie siding, we first requested a quote from a large home improvement retailer. Due to the cost of the project, we felt that it would be smart to get three bids on the project and then make a decision. I went to the James Hardie website in order to see who they would recommend in the area in order to obtain the two additional bids. I filled out a request for information from the top 2 companies listed on the Hardie website, Twin Cities Siding Professionals and Craftsman's Choice. Ann from Twin Cities Siding Professionals was the first to call me back and set up an appointment. We connected right away when Ann asked me what type of siding we currently have and I said "crappy masonite". We had a good laugh over that! Next we met Chad Grotberg from TCSP who came out to measure our home. Chad was very professional and took the time to answer our questions and understand exactly what we wanted for our home. Then we had a salesman from Craftsman's Choice come out to measure our home. One of the first things that he asked me was what other companies we were looking at. When I told him, he proceeded to bash the 2 other companies and this turned us off. We believe that a company should sell on their own merits and not by bashing their competition. When Chad from TCSP came back to give us a proposal, that is exactly what he did. He listened to us and explained exactly what TCSP does in a way that we could understand and appreciate. We had some more custom things that we wanted done to our home and this did not stump him at all as it had one of the other companies who said that they just "do not do that sort of thing". After we signed with Chad, just a few days later came a card from the owners of TCSP thanking us for choosing their company and they promised to treat our home like it was their own. How impressive! And let me tell you they did! I am a pretty picky customer as I also work in customer service and my husband even calls me "inspector 19"! I even warned Nate Gohl (Senior Field Supervisor for TCSP) and Andy Hieb (Crew Leader for TCSP) that I am very picky and their answer was, "that's why you chose us"! How true! We were not looking for the least expensive siding company, but rather, the best, and that is what we got with TCSP. All of the quotes that we got for our project were very close but we were so impressed with the professionalism and integrity of TCSP that we felt most comfortable entrusting our siding project to them. When we asked questions or wanted something done in a certain way, they never acted like it was a bother, but treated us with utmost respect. We even ran into Nate at a wedding during our project and had a great time with he and his wife Larissa! All of the crew on the jobsite, Andy, Brian, and Cal were the main ones, were also very professional and very fun as well. We felt very comfortable having them around our home. They do excellent work! They also worked very well with the other contractors that we had on the jobsite, the electrician, Direct TV, and the plumber, in order to make sure that everything was done to our satisfaction. We can't say enough good things about our experience with TCSP! Of the three comapnies that we had bid the project, we are so glad that we picked them! It is so nice to know that there are still companies out there who really do put customers first and it is not just a slogan, but instead this is lived at every level of the company from the owners down to the crew on the jobsite. Twin Cities Siding Professionals really means what they say, "customer focused". Thank you Twin Cities Siding Professionals for transforming our home into something so beautiful that we never thought possible and making new friends along the way! We love the new look of our home and are so proud of it!!

Chad is a fabulous representative for the company. Initial sales meetings are my least favorite thing and Chad was extremely helpful and honest. Chad arrived promptly and asked me what I was looking for. I let him know I was not sure if I was going to keep or sell the house in a year or two but that it needed repair. Twin Cities Siding Professionals only offer top quality products and so this was not a good fit as it is a big investment at $40k when I might move soon and my home is on the lower end of the price spectrum. Chad was extremely honest and ultimate customer satisfaction was more important to him than the sale. For clients looking for the best quality materials and company I would highly highly recommend Chad and his company and I fully intend to use them in the future and recommend them to friends and family. You can't train values and integrity.

Terry Stamman, the owner of the company, came out to my condo building to give me an estimate on a siding job. He was punctual and took time to understand our project. An estimate was emailed to me the next day and Terry was available for answering the questions I had about the product. We had gotten multiple bids on this job and we ultimately went with another company only because they were also able to fix some broken storm windows we have on our building in addition to the siding project. Terry's company does not provide that service. I would hire his company in the future if the need arose.

After some research and several interviews with local siding firms, we hired Twin Cities Siding Professionals based on the clear, detailed and convincing presentation by its CEO, Terry Stamman. If professional integrity and commitment to excellence are the foundation of this firm, the willingness to patiently address and satisfy client questions/concerns gives TCSP an added edge in a crowded, competitive market. The team that did the work included siding pros Ed and Matt, and painters Brent and Eric. They were terrific ? prompt, courteous, smart, hard workers, and aiming to please. They worked steadily in 90-degree heat, but good humor and good hydration (with a little lemonade on the side ? no pun intended) kept the project going even ahead of schedule. And it looks really good! They also identified a couple of related issues and made suggestions that enhanced the total project. It would not have been necessary for them to inquire about, then suggest removing an old room air-conditioning unit that we hardly use, or to install a kick-plate to an exterior service door we had recently replaced, but they fixed both areas, something that will save us future hassles and money. We?re pleased with the fresh, sharp appearance of our house and the durability of the product that was installed. All in all, we?re confident that going with TCSP will serve us as a good investment.

First of all we interviewed and bid several contractors. We selected Twin City Siding based upon their price and quality of work based upon references we checked. Terry and the team exceeded our expectations both in terms of quality installation and their customer relationship management. Their installation was so good that a contractor we had out for another purpose commented that he had "never seen siding so tight and well installed." Throughout the process Terry and the office kept us informed of progress and engaged us appropriately as questions came up. They performed on time, on budget and as agreed. It was a great experience. We had the original work done a number of years ago and are now in discussion with TCS to complete a similar project for the front of our house.
Description of Work: We used Twin City Siding to remove stucco on 3/4 of our home and then replace with Hardie Board. We are now looking to have them do the same with the front of our home.

As we knew they would, they patiently explained all options and prepared a detailed, understandable, well-illustrated proposal. The men who did the work accommodated our schedule, were consistently punctual, communicated with us regularly in a wonderfully straightforward manner, were friendly, and had a terrific work ethic. The level of professionalism throughout Twin Cities Siding is unsurpassed. Our garage, which was a genuine eyesore, looks like a new one. Wow!
Description of Work: Twin Cities Siding Professionals put Hardie fiber-cement siding on our house seven years ago. At the time, we could not afford to have Hardie siding put on our garage, but now we had them do that. They removed the dreadful 30+-year-old siding that was on the garage, painstakingly repaired the outside of the garage and placed HardieWrap moisture barrier, and then installed Hardie fiber-cement siding. They placed and painted all trim, installed a new door, and painted both the new door and one we already had. They also did repairs and made some improvements in the siding on our house.

They were marvelous. I thought they were neat, prompt, and provided good quality. The foreman caught some less than par pieces before they were installed, so they were supervised well. The salesman also came back to check on the work and provided many option with photos before the work started.
Description of Work: They installed new siding on the entire house.
