The only positive result was the repair of the bed headboard. They did a good job of sanding out the scratches and matching the stain. The remaider of the job was a disaster. Beginning with the hardwood floor reapair, they sanded down the scratch and basically made it deeper and more noticeable. The stain somewhat matched, but the finish, or sheen, was dull, versus the rest of the flooring, which is glossy. While they used a vaccum to collect the dust, it's doubtful that it had a filter, because there was dust everywhere. The small chest of drawers had a small, dime-sized nick on it. They sanded off the whole top, which was veneer and basically ruined it. The top now has a finish, showing all the wood grain, versus a smooth finish over the rest of the piece. The largest disaster regarded the dining room table. The original issue was two small scratches on the surface, each about an inch long - not that deep. They sanded down a much larger area and tried to patch the stain, which failed miserably. After several days of trials, they wanted to sand the whole table, which I choose to not let them do. The table top is a mahogony veneer and may well be ruined. It looks really bad. In summary, three people from this company spent four days on what should have been a simple project. Except for the headboard, they made each problem worse - and they made a mess. I mistakenly paid them $300 after the 4th day, with them planning to return the next day to finish the table ( for an additional $250). After coming to my senses, I told them not to come back. We will probably spend much more than what we paid them in order to properly repair the floor and the dining table, if it can be repaired at all.
Description of Work: My wife and I recently moved to the Minneapolis area from North Carolina. We had some minor furniture damage to a wood bed headboard, a small chest of drawers, and a dining room table. There was also a long scratch on an area of heardwood flooring that we had this vendor repair.
This project was completed in December 2006. We replaced quite a few windows in our house earlier that year and wanted to renovate the windows that we had not replaced. Since we had a good experience with this company before, we called them for an estimate and ended up choosing them for this job. We also decided to refinish our hardwood floors in the kitchen, the entry door, and the bench outside. The guys were not scheduled out for sometime, but we did not mind waiting. Once started, they did an excellent job completing the project in 2 days.
Description of Work: Sanded and stained window sills, sanded and stained hardwood floors in the kitchen, refinished the entry door and the outdoor bench.

When it came time for Royal to come and paint the exterior, they delayed a week. Then showed up and said "Sorry". Because of the weather they were behind and asked if they could do my house next year. They held the retainer for almost a month and didn't reserve the dates for us. We did get our retainer back. We were not happy, and are now scrambling to find a painter before winter sets in.
Description of Work: We bought a new home in need of work. It needed exterior painting, windows scraped down. Joe came right out to quote, and gave a great price. We gave 1/3 down to retain.

The guys were polite and professional. They did an outstanding, very accurate job meeting and exceeding all of our expectations. We will be definitely using them again.
Description of Work: The company fixed several siding boards damaged by wood peckers, caulked cracks, and painted all of our house; double coat, three colors (trim, siding, and front door.)
