THEY WERE THE MOST ECONOMICAL OF THE FOUR COMPANIES I TALKED WITH WHO WERE SELLING THE SAME PRODUCT. WE WERE WITHOUT A FURNACE AND THEY CAME THAT MORNING AND INSTALLED THE NEW ONE THE NEXT MORNING. THEIR SALESMAN CAME AND EXPLAINED TO MY DAUGHTER AND I HOW THE FURNACE WORKED. NO ONE ELSE DID THAT. I'VE NEVER BEEN SO AMAZED WITH A COMPANY. I WOULD NEVER HAVE FOUND THEM WITHOUT CALLING ANGIE'S LIST.

They came out within 2 hours of calling, as we had no heat (in Jan.) and he handled everything superbly. We will call on these guys any time. Everyone from start to finish was very kind and professional. Price was nice too.

I did not know what would be involved in making the decision I was asking them to make. He was there less than 5 min and I was still charged the full amount.
Description of Work: I had a review of my current heating and duct work. I needed to make a decision on replacing vents and I wanted to make sure I would not obstruct any heating or cold air return for the house.

+ -1 moreThese guys were top notch. I do not believe you could ask for anything more than what they delivered for my home. Existing furnace failed during one of MN coldest weeks. This company was one of the few and first to respond to our desperate need for heat. They had us up and running with loaner space heaters and temp rough in furnace in less than 4 days! The professionalism with drop cloths on our new carpet and entry was fantastic. They did not over look any of the customer service details. Very friendly and the quality of workmanship seems to be beyond anything I have ever witnessed. They clearly have years of experience and talent to boot. I will not be using any other Heating or A/C company other than these guys while I'm in this house or the Twin Cities for that matter.
Description of Work: Emergency call to replace both gas furnace, AC coil, and AC condensing unit. Corrected zone heating problem, replaced air filter, and performed miracle duct/sheet metal alignment in 1960's home.

+ -1 moreThe staff at Residential Heating are extremely rude and do not value their customers. The secretary did nothing but make up trite excuses. When I spoke with the owner later that day, he was extremely rude and abrupt. He said to me "Look I said we are sorry, what more do you want, blood?" I tried to explain to him that I just wanted to deal with a professional company that would call me and follow through with their customers. His response was, "I'm sorry she didn't call you the exact minute she walked in the door." (The truth was she never called) He couldn't have cared less. My ties with this company are permanently severed and unless you have time to sit around and wait for someone that doesn't care about your time or business, I encourage you to go elsewhere.
Description of Work: Residential heating installed my furnace a couple of years ago. My experience was fine, other than a small gas leak that the gas company found and Residential Heating fixed. Recently, I called to have a humidifier added to the furnace and to have the furnace cleaned. I took work off the morning they were to arrive. I waited 20 minutes before I had to take my son to school and no one showed up or called. When I called them the secretary said she was late getting to work and the person doing the work called in sick. After explaining that I had to take time off from my commission only job and get my son to school for a field trip, she said she couldn't help that someone was sick and she was late.

WE CALLED FOR HELP AND THE PERSON TOLD US THAT SHE WILL PAGE SOMEONE AND HAVE THEM CALL US IN ABOUT HALF AN HOUR. WE WERE NOT CALLED. WE CALLED 3 MORE TIMES AND EACH TIME THE PERSON SAID SOMEONE WILL CALL SOON. AFTER 2 HOURS WE CONTACTED ANOTHER COMPANY. FINALLY AFTER 4 HOURS WE GOT A CALL. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T COME OUT UNTIL 10AM. THE OTHER COMPANY CALLED US AFTER AN HOUR AND A HALF AND CAME OUT AT 5:00AM. WE ARE VERY UNHAPPY THAT THEY LEAD US TO BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE WOULD BE CONTACTING US SOON. WE REPEATEDLY ASKED THEM TO JUST TELL US IF YOU CAN'T COME OUT AND WE WILL LOOK FOR ANOTHER COMPANY BUT THEY KEPT US BELIEVING SOMEONE WOULD SOON CALL.

THE INSTALL WAS TIMELY, WELL-DONE AND THEY TOOK CARE TO CLEAN UP. THE ONLY SURPRISE WAS THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SCHEDULED ABOUT TWO DAYS LATER, BUT IT WAS FINE. THEY ALSO DID A GOOD JOB AND WERE NEAT. WE HAD FIVE ESTIMATES AND THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY ONE OF THE BEST. VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE.

Description of Work: THEY CERTIFIED A FURNACE INSTALLATION AND DID SOME REPAIR WORK ON THE VENTING TO BRING IT UP TO CODE. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD REMODELED AND SOME WALLS WERE TOO CLOSE TO THE VENTS. THEY REPLACED MUCH OF THE VENTING WITH TYPE B WITHOUT CUTTING THROUGH ANY WALLS OR CEILINGS IN DIFFICULT SPACES, SO THEIR WORKMANSHIP WAS SUPERB. WHAT WAS IRRITATING WAS THEIR SERVICE. AFTER RESPONDING FAST, INITIALLY (CHRIS CAME OUT TWO DAYS AFTER THE INITIAL APPOINTMENT WHEN THEY CHECKED THE FURNACE.) I HAD TO CALL HIM EVERY DAY FOR FIVE DAYS TO GET AN APPOINTMENT (NO CALLS WERE RETURNED.) THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD FOR THE ENTIRE BILL, EVEN THOUGH I AUTHORIZED IT ONLY FOR THE INITIAL SERVICE CALL, (FOR $ 75.00) AND EVEN AFTER I CALLED THEM TO COMPLAIN SEVERAL TIMES, I NEVER EVEN GOT A FINAL BILL. I PAID BECAUSE THEY DID GOOD WORK AND ULTIMATELY DESERVE TO BE PAID, BUT I STILL WOULD LIKE TO SEE A FINAL BILL. JUST WISH THEIR SERVICE WOULD BE BETTER, AS IS, I DON'T KNOW WHETHER I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.

HE TOOK THE FURNACE APART AND FOUND IT TO BE COMPLETELY DEFECTIVE. HE WROTE UP AN ESTIMATE FOR A NEW FURNACE AND MADE RECOMMENDATIONS AS TO THE BEST OPTIONS FOR OUR HOME.
