LeafFilter Gutter Protection

I cannot recommend LeafFilter Gutter Protection. I did not do any research and paid several thousands of dollar for gutters and covers for a modest 1 story Rambler. I made a very very big mistake. A $14,728.00 dollar mistake. Also, the day of the work, Brian calls and says he needs another $5,000.00 as the fascia has to be fixed. After a heated conversation, the additional cost was $1,600.00. It took the two workers 90 minutes to put in 1 inch by 2 inch by 7 foot strips of raw pine. The metal strips holding the old gutters were poorly cut off resulting in the new gutters being pushed down or the shingles being pushed up. I did manage to get them to repair the substandard work. the had a metal cutter and cut off the metal strips in less that 40 minutes.

They did a very good job. I don't have to worry about cleaning the gutter.

First of all Nathan the sales person was fine. A little pushy but he’s a salesman. Was told the installation team would be there between 8 am and noon they showed up at 12:40. Then took a lunch at 2 back to work at 3. At 4:30 I was told they didn’t have all the parts to complete the job and would have to come back tomorrow. Now I have to take another day off to wait around for them to complete the job. Called customer service and they were very apologetic but not very helpful. They forwarded my concerns to a manager. He called back 2 hours later and after being very rude he came up with $100.00 off on a $5000.00 job was all my time was worth. Very disappointed shop around but give Leaf Filter a pass.

I had my first appointment last summer, Jeff Lamkins was the rep that came by. Jeff did the demo and I was interested, but at the beginning of my shopping. Next thing I know Jeff is giving me a state fair discount, a buy today discount, and a Vet bonus, even though I am not a Vet. I told him that I wanted to look at other products and Jeff said; "Why, read these consumer reports, they even say we're the best". I told him I was not buying that day and he became angry and more obnoxious with the high pressure sales tactic. I asked him to leave my house. As I escorted him out my door, he said "if I walk out this door those discounts are gone". I tried a few times to talk to management and finally reached Steve. He was pretty easy to work with and said he would honor Jeff's lowest quote. I parked the gutter project for the fall and decided to resume it this spring. I scheduled another appointment with LeafFilter provided the Jeff did not get the sale and that Jeff not step foot on my property. Eric Vevea came by today and was a very nice guy. Unfortunately he was not well prepared. He did not have the notes from Jeff's bid, and after doing the measurements, he did not have the filter with him for my style of gutter and wanted to book another appointment. So I could not get a bid today and my wife could not see the product. This did not go well with my wife. I have seen many other reviews that have 3 common themes: high pressure sales, poor communication, and the have sloppy work and leave huge messes. After all of this and reading several reviews I am leaning towards purchasing from a different vendor.

Very professional. Quick service. Install team was superior, knowledgeable and friendly. Looks great. And did a very through clean-up. Thumbs up to Rodrigo Villafan and team! Not thrilled with the "have to sign today to get best price" tactic of salesman. But all and all very happy!

RUN AWAY!! Worst company ever filled with liars, non-existent customer service, and incomplete work. I wish I would’ve read the reviews before purchasing. My story is quite similar to several reviews on BBB, Google, and Angies List. Salesman was very pushy and lied to me saying that underground plumbing would be cleaned as part of the initial installation. I purchased the product and service and we scheduled the installation for October 14, 2019. They called to cancel and reschedule FIVE times. Each time they canceled, it was at the end of the work day on the day they were supposed to install it. When they finally did install it, they did NOT clean out my underground plumbing. So I paid $3706 to still have the same problem I started with... and now I’ve had a huge headache for the past three months trying to get them to return my calls and emails. On top of that, I was told that the salesman who lied to me, Brandt, would need to resolve this issue with me. Did he? Nope. Instead, he called me to lie again and tell me that he never said my downspouts with underground plumbing would be cleaned (which is funny because I have a signed contract with his handwriting saying they’d do that), he talked down to me in the most condescending tone ever and disrespected me. The issue still isn’t resolved and I’ve called more than 15 times, emailed twice, and told them at this point I just want a refund so that I can afford to pay someone else to properly clean my gutters. Horrible customer service. Lying salesmen. Thieves, considering they took my money and didn’t do what they told me they would do when I paid for their service. Absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with a company in my entire life. Do not recommend unless you want to waste your money, be treated poorly, lied to, disrespected, and endure a headache of fighting with them to tell them to do their job that you already paid for...

I called on 10/4/19 to make an appointment for an estimate on my home for the Leaf Guard "system" for my gutters. It was from the ad in the Tribunes' Sunday paper. Jack the company rep arrived at my house on 10/08/19 to give me an estimate. He proceeded to walk around the house, I assume to measure the linear length of the gutters.....When he was done we sat down and began to go through a ring binder of the company history and their sponsor-ships. It may be interesting to some but I interrupted him after 15 minutes and asked if we can just review the product and the cost ( I did my home work so the company history was not necessary - he noted that the company was given a high award from Angies' List - HOW - the company is rate "B"). At this point we stared going down hill! Jack stated that he needs to follow the process so I would understand how the product works (I am thinking - Are You Kidding), When he started going after me with I am rude, not nice and not knowing how to act, I knew we were done,,,,,I restated that I first wanted to see the product and cost, (so he gave me a sheet with the picture of a leaf Guard section and dollar value of $8,558), and then he can glorify himself and how the company works.....Unfortunately the manufacturing company probably is good but their choice of field reps is something to be desired!....After 5 minutes of his repeated claim that I rude I had to ask him to leave my property..............I have never in 0 years met a rep from a company on Angies List that was "SO RUDE" offensive as this person was!!!!!

Honestly I am still a little on the fence about the system and the process of getting it installed. The installer was a very nice guy and honestly I think he did an ok job. They did the work in the winter in Minnesota and the gutters were frozen. The installer cleaned out the gutters and for the most part cleaned up the mess. The issue is he didn't clean out the downspouts. When we got a warm day the gutters were overflowing and I had to clean out the down spouts. Not necessarily a big deal but when they promise you won't have to clean them again I felt a little misled. After I clean out the down spouts, there was still an area of the gutter that must have been too low as the water was running out of it. Now this was causing an icy mess in the driveway. I called the salesperson who says he created a service call but it has been a week and I haven't heard anything yet. I realize it is still winter and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt but so far I am not impressed. Also it looks like there is still stuff in the gutter to clog so when spring rolls around hopefully it just washes out.

Do not waste your time with this company! We bought into their high pressure sales tactics - we could get an additional discount if we signed on that day - but we were impressed with the product so we signed up. We agreed to pay them $5000 to fix up our gutters and install the filters. That was the last we ever heard from this company. They didn't show up, they have never once returned a call. There is no phone number to reach the local branch. All they give you is a toll free number to their corporate offices, where everyone that answers the phone says they'll have to have someone else call you back. No one has ever called us back from this company. It's a complete scam. We have notified the corporate offices that we wish to cancel our agreement, and they have the gall to tell us we have to put it in writing. With their level of responsiveness I'm not going to be surprised if they literally try to take our money and run. We have already paid them and have not even been able to get a phone call. LOOK ELSEWHERE

I did not choose to use them, even though the product appeared sound, (although over-priced), because when they came out to give me an estimate, they used strong arm tactics to try and force me to sign immediately, or I would lose the 20% discount they offered. They quoted me on 133 linear ft of gutters, with 6 miters required, which with discount worked out to $23.41/ linear ft.

We received info regarding this product at a neighborhood festival. We were told by the individual representing the company that even though we have heat cables in our gutters that their product would work. After doing some online research we scheduled an appointment. The salesman arrived on time and was very professional. He again stated that there would be no issues for installation. There was a cancellation so the work was scheduled for the next day. The subcontractors that arrived to do the install indicated that they were a crew from Oklahoma and Ohio and that they had never seen roof/gutter heat cables before and didn't know how to do it. We encouraged them to contact a supervisor for advice but they replied that they would figure it out. We also told them that the salesman had said that all if not most of our gutters would need to be rehung and realigned and that this was common in the installation; they said that they seldom did this and inferred that the salesman didn't know what he was talking about. We placed a call to LeafFilter to report our concerns with their abilities to properly install the product. We were told that a person from the MN office would return our call. That call was never received. After about an hour the crew told us that they couldn't figure out how to do the job; they would call their supervisor and someone would contact us. That never happened. Because of the poor service and lack of contact we exercised our right to cancel the contract. We sent the written notification, with an explanation of why we were canceling, to the Eden Prairie address. We have documentation that it was received. We have not heard anything from anyone at Leaf Filter. Regardless of the favorable reviews of the product, we would not recommend this vendor due to the poor customer service.

Very well. Original LeafFilter as done very well. Unfortunately, the gutters were damaged in the June 2017 hail storm. Our contractor, chosen by our insurance company, had staff who were not familiar with LeafFilter and were trying to break our contract to get out of the work and had misinformed our insurance claims representative on what needed to be done to assure there was no damage to the support system under the steel screens. Chris from LeafFilter coached me (homeowner) on correct terminology to explain the issues to our insurance claim representative, so we could work around the contractor to get the work approved. Our new gutters are more appropriate for the style of our home than the originals and the LeafFilter was once again perfectly installed.

I was told they would be low profile but you can see them all along the gutters.

Very well. They left some scraps they should have taken, but they returned the next day to collect and apologize.

At first I was told that they only use their own people but when they came to do the services, they sent an independent contractor so that was a little misleading. I also felt that the sales person was a little misleading during his presentation by using paper towels to substitute for leaves in the gutters. The independent contractor worked hard and from what I can see did a good job.

It didn't go as well as I hoped. LeafFilter was able to setup an install date fairly soon after we signed the contract. I was told the installer would arrive between 8 and 10. He arrived about 10:30am. He completed the install within 1.5 hours (which I thought was a little quick). Later in the day I decided to get up on my ladder and clean the "outside" of my gutters, hopefully for the last time. My plan was not to "check up" on the installer's work, but of course I wanted to see the new guards that I paid for while I was cleaning the gutters. I was not impressed with the installation of the gutter guards. Some guards were pushed down while others were raised. I expected a flat surface all along the top of the gutter guards, but I did not see this. I was concerned that the areas that were not flat would gather extra debris over time. Upon further inspection and pushing down on the gutter guards themselves, I found that the guards did not have a solid foundation to rest upon in back and gave way to the touch as if they were missing the hangers that the salesperson assured me would be installed. Since the next day was a holiday, I did not call LeafFilter about my findings until two days later. The person I spoke to on the phone said he'd have someone call me back to set up a second appointment to fix the matter. The second installer called me back later in the day and set up an appointment for the next day. The second installer arrived on time and spent an extra 1.5 hours fixing the installation process from the first installer. He said that the hangers had not been installed properly. After the second installer left, I re-inspected his work which looked (and felt ) as I expected it to after the first install. I subsequently called the company (twice, because my first call was not returned) to express my displeasure with the install process and the fact that I had to take a 2nd day off work due to the bad first install. I was very respectful in my interactions with the installers and the persons I spoke to on the phone, however they didn't seem to really care. Thankfully I DID inspect their work right away and I would highly recommend any customer to do the same should they use them. Luckily I was agile enough to scramble up a 2 story ladder. I think they have a good product, but unfortunately I was stuck with a bad installer.

All good. Arrived on time, good communication, professional work

I first saw the leaf filter product at the Golf Show - I was impressed. They came to my house to do their sales pitch a few days later - Not So Impressed. The sales pitch was bad - seemed like a "passive agressive scam" - their sales gimmick was very bad. They told me the "residential guy" wasn't able to come so the "commercial" guy came. But this was a good thing, because he could get me in on a commercial run and save me some money. The residential quote (with all the discounts) was good for a year, but the commercial quote was only good for that night - with no additioinal discounts. I don't like being pressured so I said NO. I also looked them up on the BBB website and found the EXACT SAME Gimmick was told to someone else. However - I really liked the product so I called the company direct to see what was up. They were much more professional and believable. I agreed to have them installed. The installation person was very nice and professional. He did a great job. I am very happy with them. The company really should talk to their sales staff - and stop with the gimmicks. They don't need them. The product is good - and that should be enough. Maybe the gimmick is their way of not having to give you the discounts they promote - maybe its a way to get you to sign quickly - I don't know ..... but if you can look past the bad sales pitch, the product (and company) is good.

Seeing an A rating on Angie's list, I contacted the company. They scheduled a salesperson. He gave a quote of around $3000. He said the quote is good for 1 year but was really keen for me to accept it there and then. I told him I would consider it and revert in a few days. He did mention if the order goes later than he does not get the commission or something on those lines. Anyway after two weeks I called the company and told them I would like to schedule the work. I did not get any response. So 2 weeks later called again to remind. The lady said they did not get the right phone number so confirmed my phone number again. A week went by no one called me. I then posted on their Facebook page and a person next day responded that he would communicate it the concerned people. A week has gone by and no one called or left a voice mail. They have a nice product but there is something broken in their communication system.

LeafFilter was excellent through the whole process. I usually interview several contractors before making a decision. However, I was so impressed with the design and quality of the product that I cancelled the subsequent appointments with other providers and chose LeafFilter. I became aware of LeafFilter through a mailer advertisement and set up an appointment. The representative was very courteous and sought to educate more than 'sell' their product. The pricing aspect of the process was a little like buying a new car with various incentives. A more straightforward pricing approach would be a suggestion for the company to consider. The installer came the next day and I did not have to be home. I could not tell the installer was there except when I got on the ladder and checked the work, which is very high quality. I am very happy with the gutter filter and wish I had done it sooner.

It went really well! I am very satisfied & I recommended them to 1 of my coworkers as well as 1 of my neighbors.

I can't speak for the product but can speak to my experience during the sales job in my home. It was the first company we had out to do an estimate and they tried hard. Way too hard. It was a pushy sales job with all the tricks and whistles. Calling the manager, deducting cost if we get it done the following week, etc. Not to mention bad-mouthing other products. I just never felt comfortable with the whole situation. ,They also ended up coming in higher than the one I ended up going with - even after "severe discounts", coupons and much consternation from the sales guy. Maybe the product is good but I just wouldn't do business with them with their sales tactics. Not illegal by any means, just pushy.
