They added a light switch so I could turn my light on and off with a switch instead of a cord. They also took down a fluorescent tube light, and put in a bulb instead, which is much brighter.

It went fine and fast and very well. The young man was very courteous. He was in and out practically. He was pretty much on time. They good a good time range of when he would be here, between 9 and 11 which is better than Sears. He asked no questions. I showed him where the box was. He was personable, very polite. He left me the old pieces.

He arrived on time. He went down to the electrical box and opened it up, installed the device, hid it inside the electrical box so I couldn't tell if it went off without taking the electrical panel off myself. I can't just open the door of the electrical box, I have to take the entire panel off of the wall now! All the while telling me what a great deal he got on these surge protectors. Boy do I feel scammed.

It was great experience everything went smooth and the electrician was meticulous, and professional in his work and had a fun personality! I would use Gunnar Electric again.

We did not anticipate travel charges. In addition, the tech was quite chatty, which was worrisome to us since the deal was only for 2 hours. We ended having to pay a lot more than we were expecting.

Gunnar Electric had previously done all my electrical work when we finished our basement so I was thrilled when you offered a discount for them. However, when the electrician arrived, he gave me the same reason repeatedly as to why he could not complete the job I requested. He offered no alternative and simply kept repeating that he couldn't do it unless there were trusses in the ceiling. I knew perfectly well there were no trusses in the ceiling because there is a bedroom immediately above that room. Simply joists that he did not want to drill through to get to the center of the room. I was very disappointed. Called their office to tell them he couldn't do the job I wanted and that I would call them back with some other project for them. Much time passed and I had completely forgotten the coupon. I finally called and am too late to recover any of the money. They have not returned my call. I cannot in good conscience recommend them, and will not use them again. Extremely disappointing.

Gunnar is extremely easy to work with, and we got an appointment right away. This is our second time having them come out (for different jobs), and though Dolf who helped us last time wasn't available, the gentleman who did the work was pretty great as well. We needed to get a dedicated outlet for a new dishwasher installation, and come to find out, the plug we were planning to use was already dedicated. So, he helped my husband wire the electrical outlet for the machine. Also, we'd had a light stop working in the bathroom, and it was a switch that had worn out. He fixed it in no time. My husband said the electrician (I don't know his name) allowed him to tag along and ask questions. We're fairly new to homeownership and just getting our feet wet with projects. It's important to us to learn how and why things are done and highly value a contractor who will walk us through it. Great experience.

It went very well. Jon and Steve were very professional. It actually cost me less than the estimate, when they were finished. I was very impressed with them and their work. This was the most impressive company of the many I have dealt with on Angie's list!

I had some subsequent electrical work after them and the other electrician informed me that Gunnar Electric didn’t install it properly.

Gunner arrived on time and spent quality time exploring the unique electrical scenario of the house I just bought, which was built in 1969 before several additions complicated the electrical configuration. The mission was to make sure that fluctuations in the lighting were normal or symptomatic of fire or other risks. After investing significant time assessing multiple fuse boxes, the conclusion was that the situation was not ideal, but not an immediate risk, given the age and configuration of the house. I appreciate that while he could have up-sold me on significant, expensive work that could be completed to improve the performance of this old home, he was very honest about how important or unimportant each option was and ultimately was prepared to walk away with only the modest service call fee. Wanting to make his call worthwhile and, frankly, to avoid having to schedule another service call for some other work I needed, I asked if he would consider fishing wiring to two new light locations. He was flexible and willing to quickly add the task, which wasn't in the original service request. The service was personal, profession and, most importantly, honest and fair. I've called Gunner since then to perform more work.

The electrician arrived on time. He listened carefully and discussed options with me, as he fixed nagging problems with switches and fixtures, all over the house. He did the work quickly, cleaned up as he went, and demonstrated the fix, in every case. And the fixes have stayed fixed. Highly recommended.

The service tech was punctual and courteous. He was knowledgable and gracious in answering all of my questions. He performed all the tasks with ease. Offered suggestions, but did not try to talk us into anything that we chose not to do. He also gave us Gunnar literature for future reference.

After my house was hit by lightning in July 2011, I wanted a surge protector installed on my electrical service bos. Gunnar Electric was very accommodating and did the job well.

The project was not completed within the two hours and we were charged for an extra hour, and even that did not finish the 6 fixtures. The tech said the fixtures were difficult to install - which they were. I installed the first one and then saw the Big Deal and assumed a professional would have less trouble. I have no issue with the quality. My wife was the one on the ground when the tech was there and commented that he did not appear to be too interested in completing the task on time. I won't go that far- would rather have quality work. That said, not sure we would consider them again.

Tech arrived on time and went right to work. He reviewed the electrical situation of the whole house. He explained the unique electrical set-up of the home and gave us three different options to solve the problems we were encountering. He recommended that we not change the light fixture with the model we had purchased and gave clear explanation for that recommendation. He did install the switches in the electrical box. When he went back to the office, he worked up three quotes for the options that he had proposed and sent them to us, as he had promised he would.

They were on time, did the work as asked including me adding something. They were very polite and I would use them again
