When the tech came out to my home, he stated that what I needed to have done would be an extra $1000 charge. I decided to not have this service completed at this time.

That was great experience. Tech showed up on time, very professional. Answered all the questions and completed the job fast and neat.

My hot tub was not turning on. I called Gunnar to see if someone could come out to troubleshoot the problem. I called at noon and and electrician was there by 1:30p that same day. Matt, the electrician who came, was very courteous, friendly, helpful, and professional. I didn't know if it was an issue with the electrical line to my hot tub or an issue with my hot tub itself. He troubleshot this issue and identified a bad component with my hot tub. I was able to order the replacement part online that day as a result of his troubleshooting. I would recommend Gunnar as they are very prompt, professional and courteous and I would use them again.

I purchased the whole-house surge protector deal from the Angie's List website. Everything went great. Gunnar Electric was able to schedule the work for the date I wanted. The electrician arrived on time and was finished in about half an hour. He was so quick in installing it, we didn't even notice when he turned off the electricity to finish the installation.

To start, the deal we purchased did not explain that the two-hour service deal included transportation to my home. Thus, when the technician arrived, we had already lost over a half hour of work time to a stipulation that was not advertised. We found that out after he had finished his work and we were charged for extra time at the prime service rate. This was a surprise, and made it much more expensive than we had expected. If we would have known that before we purchased the deal, we would have not bought it. In fact, we only purchased it because we thought we would be getting a good deal. Furthermore the main office of the company is only a 15 minute drive from our home, and when we asked why he had deducted over a half hour for transit time, he said it was because he had come from a location farther away. What if he had come from a location on the far side of the metro area? Would that mean that I would lose an hour for transit time from the two-hour deal? This is an arbitrary and inadvertantly discriminatory policy. During the course of changing out our bathroom fan, the technician dropped something on our bathroom floor and broke a tile. I heard this noise while he worked, but did not have any reason to think something had broken, since he mentioned nothing. After he left I found the broken floor tile, which was infuriating. Also, because he did not have the correct replacement parts on hand, though we had informed the company what fan we were installing, and because we did not want him to go over what we thought was his allotted work time, i had to drive to a hardware store and get him the parts he needed for the service. This was just a terrible service call, and I would warn people against using this company.

It went great! They came out within a half hour of when I called them and fixed the issue we were having.

I had the gentleman install a couple of ceiling fans. He had to do some custom work on one of the fans to make it fit properly and he did this at no additional charge. It was a positive experience.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and I was happy with their work. They did good work and nothing was bad; everything was fine. The work they did and my interaction with the provider was excellent. I had to spend approximately $30 over the Big Deal price for parts. I think they came out about a week after I purchased the Big Deal.

My electrician was professional, helpful and fully explained what he would do and made sure I understood the process.

Before purchasing the coupon I called Gunnar Electric and talked with Terry about the job. I was concerned my breaker box was full and it would require a sub-box. I was told a sub box was might not be necessarily that a double breaker might be able to be installed. I bought the coupon and the appointment was setup in the same week. The electrician was prompt, and took his shoes off every time he entered the house. We discussed possible locations for the outlet and how to get the line to the outlet. He was able to bring in a new line to an existing box in the garage and then go up into the sofit just below the roof. He had to leave and get the double breaker. Installation went smoothly, he also made sure the old box was properly grounded. Work was done in about 3 hours and I'm satisfied with all the work.

They were great from the first contact by phone all the way to the end of the service. We had several questions about energy efficiency and they helped a lot with all of those. I would highly recommend them.

I have had no contact from the company. This is the first time I have used Angies List and I have not heard back from the company that I bought the deal from.

It didn't go particularly well. They were very, very slow to respond. I found that quite odd. When the service was done it was fine but they were just very slow to respond. Once the appointment was made it was fine but it was very hard to make an appointment. They were never proactive. There were additional charges beyond the big deal amount of $375 and that wasn't unexpected because I asked them to put it in a location that was beyond the specifications of the offer. The charges I would say were consistent with what my expectations were for an electrician. It was around $800. It was a pretty typical service.

They were excellent. They really did a great job.

One of the new circuits tripped the new GFI resulting in spoiling everything in basement Frig/Freezer. Moved Frig/Freezer to an existing curcuit and works fine now. Do not use new curcuit anymore. Under cabinet lights work well.
