After 20+ years of service, the roofing and associated appurtenances on our townhomes were showing signs of deterioration due to extreme weather and normal aging. As a result, the association board deemed it advisable to replace the roofs as soon as possible. After an exhaustive bid review and interview process with several roofing contractors, the HOA Board selected First Choice Exteriors as the successful contractor based upon: • Their extensive experience with large roofing projects, and townhome associations, • Their overall industry knowledge and experience, • Perceived provider quality as verified from reference testimonials, • Proposal quality and lowest “evaluated” cost, • Their perceived ability to deliver on all aspects of the project, • Their Availability/schedule, and finally, • Their flexibility/reliability as verified from reference testimonials. The scope of the project awarded to First Choice Exteriors included replacement of the roofing materials and roof appurtenances for the properties 15 buildings (68 total units), replacement of weather damaged windows and/or patio doors associated with 34 different units on the property, replacement of 38 skylights, and finally, the removal and replacement of the gutter systems. The committed schedule was approximately 4 weeks subject to favorable weather conditions. It is not an overstatement to say that the Board and the homeowners were impressed with the way the project was executed. From the very start, the First Choice staff was extremely well organized, sensitive to the homeowners’ needs, and fully engaged. There were 3 full time project managers on site managing the workers and interfacing with the workers and homeowners as necessary to address all construction issues and homeowner access/egress during construction. Dave Mack, Alex Pedersen, and Preston Willier, our 3 Project Managers, were seasoned and knowledgeable resources with excellent communication skills truly facilitating the conduct of work and communication with the homeowners. The crews performing the actual roof replacement were on the job from approximately 6:30am each morning (weather permitting) and worked tirelessly until after 7:00pm to keep the job on schedule despite a few weather related delays. During the bid process, bid solicitors are often promised “everything” to garner the contract. I can honestly say First Choice met all of the selling points they identified to sell the Board on their award. The quality of the work performed and attention to detail was beyond reproach, the crew cleaned up the grounds each and every evening before leaving the jobsite(including magnet sweeps of affected landscaping, walkways and driveways for nails), the project and homeowners were well managed by the site managers, schedules were achieved, and First Choice’s co-owners, Mark Willier and Mike McCain were fully engaged on the project, visiting the job site regularly to communicate with the Board and review project progress. In summary, First Choice Exteriors has demonstrated that they are a very qualified supplier, completing every aspect of our roof replacement project in a competent, and quality/customer centric manner, and I would recommend use of this organization without reservation for any of the services they offer. Highly recommend the team at First Choice Exteriors. Very impressed with the responsiveness, availability, punctuality, and follow through of the owners, estimator, field supervisors, and crews. They are a well oiled machine that has a process inplace from years of experience and success. They arrived at our home promptly at 7 am as indicated, were done roofing by mid-afternoon, and all cleaned up and gone by 5:30 pm. They were diligent with tarping and protection of our landscaping and they left our property cleaner than when they arrived. Not a nail or scrap piece of shingle to be found. They literally vacuumed our landscaping rocks and lawn to make sure nothing was missed. Highly recommend. We’ll have them back when we are ready for new siding and windows.

We replaced our roof and siding in 2017 with First Choice Exteriors. They did a great job. In the last five years, we had 2 instances where we needed a siding panel replaced due to damage and most recently flashing had come loose due to high winds. In both instances, they came out quickly and repaired the areas. The repair work was done complementary at no cost. Thanks Mike and the team at First Choice. Tim G

Mike and his team are amazing! First Choice was super responsive and quick to schedule an inspection and vent installation. He and the guys on the roof did an incredible job and were in and out in one day (7 am to 6 pm). Mike and Marcus stopped by to ensure all was going well; another added touch. Mike and Dave were incredible to work with. I cannot say enough good things about the professional job they did. They were responsive to any questions the board or homeowners had. They dealt with all our insurance needs and made the entire process so easy. The job included new roofs, siding, windows, doors, gutters, exterior lighting, skylights, deck refinishing and many other smaller jobs on 64 townhomes. Each stage of the repairs were well planned, communicated and executed. Great company!!

The owner Mike and his entire team provided first class service during the entire process. They helped us determine scope, pick out colors, partnering with us on major decisions and provided very clear communication on timing and next steps. A remodeling project of this scale can be very overwhelming but it felt very manageable with Mike, Dave and the entire team. They get my highest reconnection.

We have had three jobs completed by Mike McCain at First Choice Exteriors. Mike replaced our hail damaged roof a couple of years ago. The following year he installed new windows in the kids bedroom and last summer we had him put seamless gutters all around the house and garage. Each job was completed with no hassles and no surprises. Mike made suggestions that we had not thought of that made these jobs turn out better than expected. I would definitely recommend First Choice Exteriors and will continue to use them in the future.

We hired First Choice to handle the insurance claim and replace windows, siding and our roof. It could not have gone any better. They handled all the insurance head aches and replaced everything that was damaged. The communication was excellent throughout the process. We loved Dave the Project Manager. He layed out all the expectations from the beginning and was very detailed. Our house was transformed and it is Beautiful! First Choice has earned my recommendation.

We had hail and wind damage our roof and siding. First Choice Exteriors worked with our insurance company to make sure that everything was covered. Once the work started they made sure that me and my kids could get to the car safely. The production manager, Dave Mack was on site the whole time. The roof, siding and gutters were done perfectly and the clean up was A+. We would recommend First Choice to all of our friends, neighbors, and family.

I was lucky to find FirstChoice when I needed to replace the rain gutters on my home. I was impressed with how professional the General Manager, Mike McCain, was. The options and pricing were great. And, they removed the old and installed the new in ones day. Workers were knowledgable and they left absolutely no mess. I would definitely recommend (and I have) them to friends and neighbors.

I was very pleased from start to finish with all the work done by Mike and his team. First, his price came in below other estimates I received, and he handled everything with contacting our insurance. He kept us informed as to how and when the job would be performed. His crew did a full roof replacement, full gutter replacement, and installed 2 new skylights-which was a little tricky due to the size of the existing skylights.
