Description of Work: We purchased approximately $4,000 in appliances for our kitchen from them, and used their recommended installer to install a water line for our refrigerator (did not have one previously) to install our dish washer, refrigerator, microwave and our new double ovens. They were very prompt, polite and even asked if I wanted to clean under the refrigerator/dish washer before he installed them. I was able to work while he was installing and he did a great job.

This time we bought all new everything to go with a major remodel. We have worked with Roger over the years, and his knowledge, honesty and experience is not likely to be matched anywhere else. Description of Work: We have had nothing but negative experiences with EP Appliance. When we bought our house 20 years ago, they had installed the appliances and we had trouble with their response to problems then. Now, 20 years later we purchased a oven/microwave wall unit this past year and had multiple function problems with it. It would not heat past 300degrees. Several ruined dinners with company for dinner and it was a brand new oven. The owner, Randy Nolte was not helpful at all, unresponsive to our dilema and never followed through. We had many service calls and the problem was never fixed. We wanted a new oven that worked. That is what we payed for-thousands of $$$. Finally, after threatening legal action he |finally fixed the problem, but never even called us to check to see how it was doing. From the top down of EP Appliance, beginning with the owner Randy Nolte,we will never do business again with EP Appliance. In fact, we needed a new refrigerator last month and did not buy it from this company. Went to Sears instead with our business.

Description of Work: My Bosch dishwasher was not operating well but it was still working. The 'on' switch was not always working but after a few attempts, I could get it to finally turn on. When the repair man left, it was no longer working at all. He tried to get me to consider buying a new one. Mine was 5 years old! When I told him no, he said the parts would take 5-10 days to arrive. I told him to order the part anyway. Later that day, the office called to make sure I wanted to order the part but I told the person on the phone, I had no choice, the machine was now not working at all. They suggested I call Bosch and see if this machine had been recalled because some had. I had to do that and it turned out it was not recalled. They told me the repair man would have to call me back when I told them the machine was no longer working thanks to him. It turned out the repair man was just not working for a week and couldn't be bothered. No one at the company wanted to talk to us. They kept saying the repair man would have to call me back. Finally my husband talked to the manager and the next day, the part magically appeared. I will say, the tech who did come back out was very kind but the experience left me not wanting to use them again. I do not recommend this company. Selling me a new one should not have been his priority and fixing it immediately would have been the best option.

Description of Work: We are still in the thick of our problems with Eden Prairie. We bought a microwave from them 2 years ago, which they installed. It was not installed properly, and we had to have them come back (which took some time). The microwave then broke and they sent someone to fix it, but then the microwave broke down again, and they sent him out again, and again. Their expert technicians kept going through guess after guess, and after a month of not having a microwave, they got the parts from Viking. Two guys came out. The one who was out before said he had no idea what it was. The one who was out the first time discovered that the problem was the original installation. He asked me who installed it, and I told him Eden Prairie. Not only was there no apology, but they then insinuated that they were not responsible because it was a "subcontractor" that they hired, told us that he would call us (which he never did), and they claimed that they would refund our service charges, which they have not done. I have never dealt with less professional and dishonest technicians. Beware!

The customer rep was a pill.
Description of Work: We purchased a Viking stove from them, one of the burners did not work when we got it, a repair person from Eden Prairie told us that the problem was with our "gas line" and not the burner. Although it did not make sense to us, we let it go. Two years later we had them back out for something else, and the repair person told us that the problem with our burner was a corrupted part and not the gas line. When we called to ask how Eden Prairie wanted to handle this problem, they told us that we were on our own in part because they said they had no record of ever having visited our place.

The tech was very prompt and showed up on time. Very much appreciated. This call was initially on 12/9/05 today's date is 7/18/06. No I didn't call back and Rehire this company to come back out. If the repair can't be done correctly the first time, what makes a company think I would hire them to come out and pay them to do the job again. The problem is still here 7 months later.
Description of Work: Squeaking noise coming from dryer driving us crazy. Tech checked for bad bearings/rollers. Cleaned squirrel cage motor assembly and belt/drum. But, he could not find any particular issue causing the problem. Even though the problem was still there when the tech left he said his cleaning & lubricating would help because he found a dryer sheet in the motor assembly which he removed. He doesn't like dryer sheets he said. Although he commented we have kept our lint screen & area cleaned better than average. No parts were used and it still cost us twice the initial call charge.

OVERALL IT WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE. THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE STOVE TOP MODEL ON THE FLOOR FOR US TO LOOK AT SO WE ORDERED OUT OF A CATALOG. LOOKING BACK, I WOULDN'T DO THAT AGAIN. THEY ALSO USE A CONTRACTOR FOR THE INSTALLATION. IT WENT REALLY WELL AND THE PRICE WAS VERY FAIR.

WE NEEDED REPAIR ON A WASHER THAT NOT TOO MANY COMPANIES SERVICE. WE DIDN'T HAVE TOO MANY CHOICES BUT WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULT. EP APPLIANCE WAS ON TIME AND DID EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO. THERE WERE NO SUPRISES AND WE HAVE A WARRANTY ON A PART THAT WAS REPLACED. IT WAS REPAIRED 2 MONTHS AGO AND WE'VE HAD NO PROBLEMS SINCE.

SALESPERSON WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT DIFFERENCES IN BRANDS AND MODELS. THEY ALSO ARRANGED FOR INSTALL OF OVEN/MICROWAVE IN EXISTING CAVITY - SALESMAN CAME OUT AND ESTIMATED $250. INSTALLER ENDED UP TAKING 12 HOURS OVER 2 DAYS BECAUSE IT TURNED OUT HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING - HE KEPT REDOING AND REDOING HIS WORK - I FINALLY CAME TO MY SENSES AND STOPPED HIM - HE WANTED $800 - SETTLED FOR $500 - I HAD TO FINISH THE WORK MYSELF. EDEN PRAIRIE APPLIANCE HAD DONE NO SUPERVISION, SAID 'ITS HARD TO GET GOOD HELP NOW A DAYS' AND WOULD DO NOTHING TO MAKE IT RIGHT. IF YOU BUY BUILT-INS GET SOMEONE FROM ANGIE'S LIST TO INSTALL. THIS WAS VERY STRESSFUL - A PROLONGED NIGHTMARE. I REGRET RELYING ON THESE PEOPLE.
