Junk Happens

I bought this for my daughter and her family. They are getting ready to move and had a bunch of things they either had to haul to Goodwill or throw away. Some big furniture items. Some boxes of junk. They were thrilled when Junk Happens showed up, loaded it up and hauled it away. My daughter said "THey even swept the garage floor!" Definately will use them again-this time for me!

Great- they were running late and called to let us know. We knew up front about the recycle fee for the TV which was additional. No problems.

They arrived on time and carried out a six piece queen bedroom set from our second floor and a large sofa from our living room. Dante and Nick were very careful about not scraping the furniture against the walls or floor. I was very pleased with their pleasant personalities and respect for my home. I also enjoyed working with Chris over the phone to schedule the service. I felt that my furniture was in very good condition and she assured me they will donate the furniture to a church or another non-profit organization. I would recommend this company to my family and friends and we will definitely use them in the future. A very positive experience and hard working young men. Thank you!

Dave arrived early to see what specifically needed to be done. The freezer what placed in the basement 40 years ago and went through the doorways fine. But Dave and his two workers struggled with trying to get it out in one piece. But that didn't work. Dave then sawed the freezer in half. While he was doing this the two other workers carried the sacks of blow-in insulation out to the truck. After the freezer was split into two parts, Dave and the guys carried it out. They also cleaned up the areas. They worked very hard in the 80 plus temperature. They all were very pleasant and ready to work. I had purchased a $99 deal through Angie's list, but due to the extra work that had to be done I paid extra. This included recycling cost for the freezer. I was so pleased with the service and will definitely recommend them to others.

They were running late and forgot to call but I was able to get a hold of someone who could explain the situation and help arrange for the pickup to still happen in a time that worked for me.

I called the first time and left and voicemail to ask what size load of a living social deal should I buy to match a couch removal. After more than 24 hours had past I called again and left a similar voicemail. Each time I called this company I got voice mail, never a live person. I took 24+ hours for them to call back. Chris then called back and said they would honor the living social discounted rate directly without having to buy the deal. When I called Chris a couple weeks later to schedule the couch removal it took more than 24 hours to get a call back after leaving two voicemails. But they were then able to schedule me on the day I requested, which was very important to me. On the day requested, I was scheduled for 4pm to 6pm. Around 6pm on pickup day I called and left a voicemail wondering if they were still coming. About 6:30 I got a call back from Chris who thought the truck should still be coming, and that she would call the truck. She said they had trouble with two of their trucks breaking down and were in the shop, which meant they rented a UHAUL truck for a couple days to make their pickups. About 7pm they arrived. Dave the owner and an employee arrived, and were friendly and apologetic that they had not called earlier once they knew they would be arriving late. They took great care in removing a very heavy sleeper couch, and successfully got it out without a single scratch on the freshly painted walls. I was glad to get it out no matter how late, and without nicks on the walls. Kudos to Junk Happens for getting the job done well and at a good low price. They just need to get more help on your phones to be able to answer phone calls live without voicemail, and to be able to return voicemails within 1-2 hours, instead of 24+ hours. And call your customer as soon as you know you will be arriving after the scheduled window of time.

You can safely use this company for ANY service they provide! These people constantly surprised me at every turn. Junk Happens completely removed and swept up a heavily constructed shed. They did this in a matter of just three hours. Now, you might say three hours is enough time to tear down and haul away this size shed. In fact, I would probably agree with you if pathways were on flat ground and the shed was not intertwined with the existing deck overhead. These guys not only tore down the shed and hauled it up our personal black diamond bunny hill but managed to remove its entire contents as well along that same path. Communications were clear, concise, timely, and personable throughout the process. Dave, one of the owners, showed up with a team of four guys exactly at the time I was told. He immediately said his time was not to be counted in the bill. Unbelievable! They proceeded to tear down the shed with abandon. Now this shed suffered structural damage with water damage and mold throughout the inside. This was a tough job by anyone's standard. They did it with smiles on their faces, a willingness to go above and beyond a simple dollar?s worth of effort and ensured?no, insured my complete satisfaction. I cannot think of any scenario where you won't be ecstatic with their service.

It went great! They took the things I had ready for them in the garage and carried the heavy things from the house that I couldn't lift. Couldn't have been more polite/professional. I will definitely hire them again!

The company is like family, so when a bunch of the crew all got sick at the same time, it played heck with their schedules. Dave did all the routes and even took care of a young crew member who subsequently became ill. They're just high quality all around.

They arrived a little early. They were fast and efficient .They asked if they should remove their shoes to come inside and were careful not to leave dirt behind or scratch the walls.

It worked out well. They were on time and loaded everything by themselves.

Provider never contacted. Never returned calls.

They got here on time went to work quickly and cleaned up after .GREAT JOB !!!

EDIT-- I had some issues with scheduling the Big Deal appointment. Ultimately, the provider contacted me, apologized, and noted that they had some issue with their Big Deal going out to a larger area than was intended.

Purchased a $146 'big deal'. Provider did not contact me. I called them and their number rolled over to another phone which had a full mailbox.

I put three dates when I purchased the Big Deal. I waited a few days and hadn’t heard anything from them so I sent them a direct message. I’ve yet to hear from them and it’s been 2 weeks.

Happy with the service, but we had scheduling and billing snafus. The scheduler set us up for a time, and I stayed home from work to be there. However, the truck couldn't come because they got caught up in an earlier job. The scheduler called to apologize and reschedule. We now had a pile of junk in our front driveway that needed to go and we were leaving town and could not be there for the pickup. We had also been counting on the junk guys to haul some of the larger stuff from the back. After a rather lengthy but friendly conversation, I agreed to a pickup time during a time that we would be gone, which would require us to do some of the hauling we thought they could do. The scheduler was very nice and apologetic, and in recognition of the inconvenience to us, she told us we could put out more things and we would not be charged for it. So - we put out a few more items. When we returned from our trip, the stuff was gone. Great! However, we were left with a bill of $42 for extra junk removal. I set it aside. Then the scheduler called me for payment. I reminded her of what she said about being able to put more stuff out and not being charged for it. She again was very apologetic and said she forgot. She then asked me about everything that I put out and ultimately decided that the amount of junk was reasonable and that I would not be charged. The phone call took awhile to work through. A few weeks later, I got another call from the scheduler, asking for payment. I didn't respond, and it seems to have dropped. Overall - great service, and I appreciate that the company was friendly and tried to do what was right by the customer.

We bought a coupon to get junk hauled away and were very pleased with the service! Chris got in contact with me right away and was very flexible with the time. We were also able to fit more stuff than we even thought (we bought a coupon for 6 cubic yards of removal).The crew showed up on time and did a great job. I will definitely use them again. I highly recommend them!
