Home Sown Gardens LLC

I hired HGS to do an initial spring cleanup for our perennial gardens. Work included weeding, pruning/cutting back, and removing dead leaves. I thought the quality of the work done was good and done with care. However, looking at bills from past years, the cost of the work was almost double what I have spent in the past for similar work done by other services. Hiring good people to do this type of work is hard, so it's possible I could come back to them, but for now would go with other options.

In every regard I consider them partners in my garden. They have been diligent, prompt and professional in every aspect of their work. I hold them in high regard and whole-heartedly recommend them across the spectrum of their services. I am striving to make my yard a haven for birds, bees and butterflies. This year I am planning to have Home Sown finish the perennial plantings as we couldn't get everything in. Additionally, I need an area added and dedicated for milkweed for Monarch Butterflies.

They showed up on time and spent the day working, consulting with my mom about what she wanted. She was very pleased and the gardens looked terrific all season.

Tami and her team have been taking care of spring and late fall prep and maintenance for several years. Tami also put together a landscape design for some bare spots several years ago, completed the plantings and everything turned out wonderfully. She and her crew have always been super friendly, polite, punctual and hardworking. I rely on them to take care of all may landscaping needs. I appreciate the fact that she is always ready to do as much or as little as I want with no pressure. We always look forward to seeing her every year.

Tami and her crew have been taking care of our gardens for several years and we feel like they're part of the family. Even our pets are delighted to see them. I am handicapped and can no longer do garden work myself, but Tami does everything I would do and more. It's wonderful to see my gardens evolve and become more beautiful every years. Tami makes sure that everything is cleaned up before they leave and we don't even have to worry about disposal of the weeds, trimmed branches, etc., I can't say enough about Home Sown Gardens. I call Tami my 'garden angel' because she appeared in my gardens when I needed her most. She is indeed a master gardener and a wonderful friend.

Tami and her crew did a wonderful job. I finally found someone that knows gardening. Companies that do lawn care think they know about plants and bushes. But many of them don't. Tami is a true gardener. Now that the bushes have been trimmed, the weeds removed, I will continue to hire her to do maintenance. And most likely next spring I will have more gardening plans for her.

They performed the services as requested in a very capable and efficient manner and did a very careful job of cleaning up. They also provided suggestions for the future health of the plants that they performed work on, as well as made observations of other potential improvements for the health and look of our overall landscaping. Keeping up with all of the work our property requires can sometimes get overwhelming, but having them come in and take care of select projects as needed helps us to look at our landscape and gardens in a positive way and with enjoyment as opposed to just work that needs to be done. The suggestions and freely given advice (even if we choose to do some of the work ourselves) is wonderful. Each time we have them do work at our home, we feel a definite reduction in stress. Our seeming endless lists of tasks gets a little shorter and more manageable.

Their service was wonderful.

The price depends on how much time they spend. It is an hourly rate of $60. My wife was the gardener and she ended up in a wheelchair so we brought them on. This is the fourth year thy have been doing our gardening maintenance. They keep in touch with my wife by email on what they are doing and with questions. She is still involved in what they are doing and making the decisions. If she wants, they will even stop in and talk to her. They email things back and forth. They will make suggestions and send pictures. They work very well with my wife even though she can't get out in the gardens anymore. It is a really nice business. Tammy is the owner. We've had a number of other people working on the yard as well and she works well with all of them.

They are very communicative. They do what needs to be done. After the spring, they will check in periodically and call and see when we need weeding or if they need to wait a bit. Each spring we can buy a block time at at discounted rate. They are very cost effective. They have very good programs and give us the best rates.
