We had two years of nasty ice dam problems - including a "first" last year when water actually ran down the wire on the dining room hanging lamp. Steam removal of our dams last year was NOT cheap - like $400+ per hour. When the insurance adjuster came out, we asked him specifically if he had seen any claims where the home had a de-icing system - answer, yes - one forgot to turn it on, and the other didn't know it wasn't working - that was good enough for us. So this year, we decided we had to do the installation. Checked Angie's list for contractors doing such systems, and found Dixon. The total bill of $4900 included $3600 for the basic de-icing system, plus the new gutter with gutter cover with the extra heat wiring for the new downspout (we have a LOT of oak trees) - considering the costs of those previous ice dams, we expect this should be a very good thing to do. Oh, and the work was done in one day, except for about 15 minutes a day or so later when the electrician came back to complete one last thing. We've already had one snow fall, and we turned the system on - checking, we could see that the wires were working, just as they should be. So far, so good - of course, the real test will be once we start getting lasting snow falls and things start melting again - Feb/Mar 2012 should be the final verdict on what we've done. (we're keeping our fingers crossed!)

I didn't realize that it would be so hard to find someone to clean windows in November. I was relieved to find that Dixon's could squeeze me in a few days after I called, but they didn't have time to come and give an estimate so they did a ballpark over the phone. I was the last scheduled job of the day and they arrived after the set time frame. The first thing they did was give a true cost for the job and then set right to work. Jason was very friendly and he and Malachi both did a thorough job. I was definitely satisfied with the quality of the work but I would recommend that they confirm appointments and then contact customers when they are running late for their scheduled time.

I was very pleased with Dixon's. The two men arrived on time and introduced themselves. I showed them what I would like done and where and they got started. The entire project didn't take long at all. They were out of here in about 2 hours and I have lots of windows. They did an excellent job and I have no complaints about their overall performance. I would highly recommend them and would use them again. They did a fantastic job from start to finish.

My residence is 3 stories with additional loft windows at a 4th story height. It is impossible to clean them with a power washer. the living room is 3rd story and the entire end of the residence is walled windows, very picturesque and allows for a beautiful view. Although the windows were in great need of being thoroughly cleaned. I had spoken with several people to get an estimate and the height posed a problem for many. As part of normal maintenance one day I was on line to obtain the company number to arrange for the gutters to be inspected and cleaned and was directed to the Dixon Window Cleaning site in error. I contacted them and was very pleased with the response and an appointment was made to provide an estimate. The gentlemen came and were very professional, pleasant and accommodating. They provided the quote and made the appointment and arrived on time and remained in contact and were very courteous and pleasant to deal with as well. They did a fantastic job. The windows are gorgeous and I was impressed with them completely. They are honest, clean and decent professionals and that is saying a lot in these times.

Arrived early, with a clearly marked truck and three workers wearing shirts with the Dixons name on it. I felt comfortable having them in my home. The men were nice, professional (both to me and each other), wore shoe slippers when in the home. I think the entire process took about 2 hours. They were very efficient and I did not have to clean up any footprints or water spots after they left. Per my request, they noted when they saw poor window seals, so that I may be aware of the issue for warrenty reasons on the windows.

They did a really nice job. They found a broken shingle and replaced it for us while they were up there.

Despite some initial scheduling hiccups on both of our parts Dixon has done a great job getting me an estimate. They're very professional and punctual, and I'm very happy with the price they've quoted me.

They did a great job on my windows. My door is so clean it almost looks like you could walk through it. My only complaint is that they were an hour and a half late without a call to let me know. They brought an extra man and were able to still finish the job by dinner time. I would have this company out again in the future.

Wow! Now this was service - 26 windows, inside/outside and done in 30 minutes. Most importantly the windows look great! The crew of three was very efficient and nice. I wish every service company I work with was like this. I will definitely use them again.

I contacted Dixon's for an estimate on a roof deicing system. The company's receptionists were responsive and friendly. The owner, Ed, came from Eden Prairie to my home in White Bear Lake at 8 am on June 2nd. He was actually at my house on time in spite of rush hour traffic!! Even though I did not schedule the work to be done at this time, Ed was not put out by his long drive. His attitude, in spite of not immediately getting the job, speaks highly of his professionalism.

We had a date set, however when they were in the area ealier, they called and asked if it would be convenient to do the job then.That was fine with us. The individuals did an excellent job, they were efficient and professional

Overall it was a great experience. I have already recommened Dixon's to one of my neighbors.

Exceptionally good experience with Dixon's from the moment I inquired online. I received a return phone call soon after I submitted the web request and had an appointment on Saturday that worked well with our schedules. The guys showed up in the time window (no pun intended) they promised and did a fantastic job on our windows. The windows look great and the work was done for a very reasonable price. The team, Ed and Jim, were super professional and very friendly and I'm calling them back for sure next spring.

We woke up one morning to find water dripping from a light fixture in our bedroom. Checked the roof and realizes it was an ice dam causing the leak. Found Dixon's on Angies list. Called them and spoke to Antonette. Their steaming crews were already out on jobs that morning but Antonette worked very hard to get someone to our house on Saturday afternoon to at least chisel enough ice off to stop the leaking. This worked, but we still wanted to have the roof steamed. Antonette managed to get a crew to our house on Monday. We were really pleased with their responsiveness and can't thank Antonette enough for her great service. A week later, when we returned from visiting family on Christmas weekend, a leak started on the OTHER side of our roof. We called Dixon's and had a crew out within 2 days. The crew steamed for two hours, and then checked with me to see if I wanted them to continue working on our roof, to make sure they didn't go over our budget. I asked them to stay and continue steaming, as well as shovel off the snow above where the ice dams had formed. I was very pleased with their work and have recommended them to friends and co-workers. Their pricing was fair and everyone was very pleasant and helpful. We had Dixon's give us an estimate for heat cables. We recently had insulation added to the crawl spaces in our attic, and will see if that works to prevent ice dams before we proceed with heat cables.

They came quickly and were very professional. They offered advice about preventing the problem in the future.

I contacted them 3 times by email and phone leaving messages and they didn?t return any of my calls or emails. At this point, even if they were to contact me, I would not feel comfortable working with them since they don?t value their customers enough to just let them know they are busy.

They were responsive. when many other companies werent their quote was in the running. they even followed up when i decided to not have to the work

The work was scheduled to be completed on 12/28/10 in the morning. Dixon called the morning of the 28th to let me know that their steamers were out of service and we scheduled for 8:00 am (after 3 phone calls) for the next day, 12/29/10. At 8:50 am on the 29th two Dixon workers showed up and asked if I could turn the outside water (which had been turned off for the winter) for their steamer to work. (This requirement was never mentioned). After 1 hour and 20 minutes they left my home leaving a treacherous mess of ice and slush on the driveway and front steps and walk. However they had time to run over to the neighbors to do a quick 'unscheduled' cash job but called the office to let them know the job at my house took 2 hours and the client was 'happy'...not so. I called the office to let them know that I was NOT satisfied with the completed work and they sent out two supervisors to clean-up with shovels and salt. Which is not what I paid $250/hour for. Actually the 'salt' was provided by me because we have pets and I asked that they use pet safe salt. To make matters worse they charged the full amount of $500 to my credit card and did NOT apply the Angie's List 10% Discount. I called Dixon twice today to get resolution and request a refund of the 10%. All of the Dixon personnel have been pleasant but the service provided from scheduling to snow removal left MUCH to be desired.

Overall, they were incredibly responsive, professional and helpful. Some falling ice caused a bit of damage, but they resolved the situation to our complete satisfaction. With the kind of winter we're having, we're really glad we came across Dixon and hopefully have a long-term fix in place. Ed was super, coming over to the house the day we steamed, and then sending over a crew to install the cables the day after we called him. In both instances, they came when they said they would (within a very good timeframe considering all the ice dams this year), and the final price was what they originally quote.

Excellent service, great value and such nice people! I saw them installing a de-icing system in the neighborhood and grabbed a flier. After checking them on Angie's List (good past reviews), I called for an estimate for the front of my house which had been prone to past ice dams. Within days a friendly fella was at my house talking about the types of systems they offer (hard-wired or plug-in) and relative costs. It was clear I was in good hands. I reviewed the bid and gave them my business. They came out promptly (scheduling around a sleet storm) and heroically chipped away/removed ice and snow from the great blizzard of 2010 without any complaint. For the bid (before the snows) I had been able to note only one problem area. After the snow/ice storms, Dixon's showed me another area near the back of the house that also needed attention due to existing and growing ice dams. I ended up with two systems (one for the front of the house, the other for the back). This was a bit more than I initially intended to spend, but I am sure I will not regret paying the money up-front to prevent future problems. They guarantee their work/product for two years and additional warranties are available. They work hard to get things done right. Give them your business and you won't regret it.

Excellent. The initial appointment was rescheduled due to a storm which came up, which they had preadvised us of their normal approach. We could have the inside windows done and then they could return and do the outside later, and not bill us until complete. OR we could wait and reschedule. We chose to reschedule. We were very impressed with the quality of their work and how quickly they made the house look so beautiful. They also gave us a special discount for being Angie's List members! I will defiinitely being contacting them at least annually, if not more often. What a gift.
