Description of Work: Everything went smoothly and timely. Only issue was with cost - after cleaning everything the guy just left, never mentioned any up charge. A few days later they emailed an invoice suggesting they did more than the 6 rooms I originally paid for. They should have explained that when they were there and given me the option of stopping at the 6 rooms or paying more for the additional room. It left a bad taste in my mouth for what was otherwise very good service.

Description of Work: Details Residential Services provides monthly cleaning for my home of which they clean approximately 1,500 sq feet. They use "Green" products leaving the house smelling fresh, instead of "oh, your house was just cleaned smell". They provide an excellent service. The price is high though.

We have over 34 full-time Team members, we have 12 cleaning Teams, one carpet Team and all of our vehicles are insured. We pay all of our Team members a living wage, “no minimum wage” employees at Details Home Services. We offer our Team members paid vacation, one paid holiday each year, we do back ground checks on all of our Team members, and we have the Best Holiday party in the business. We carry general liability, workers comp, we are bonded, and we collect and remit all applicable sales tax. This is a locally owned business so 100% of the money you pay stays in the Twin Cities. Great but then poorly.
Description of Work: We used Details' services for approx 18 mos...maybe more...unsure of start date. It's difficult for me to write a "bad" review because there was a lot they did well, but it's hard to overlook the issue we dealt with. I believe Mike is passionate about his business and its mission, but I think he misses the mark on the fundamentals. The cleaning is average; the punctuality is above average for the industry IMO. About a year ago we found garbage in our toilets from the cleaners. We expressed concern to Mike given the damage this could cause. He assured us right away he'd address it. A year later, we found it again! How long has this been going on? Did the cleaners just forget to flush this time around? Very frustrating and feels like a violation of the trust we put in them. To be honest, I'm probably extra frustrated because I left the crew a nice tip and then I find trash in my toilet -- not a nice way to treat my home and the bind it could cause if my plumbing backs up. Also about six months ago I suggested to Mike that it'd be helpful to provide a checklist to give feedback to the crew. He responded positively saying he'd work on it -- then nothing. Again, I think Details does a lot right and we really didn't want to end our agreement with them but felt trust had been violated and that we'd always worry if they were flushing trash in our toilets. Mike didn't follow up with us after we contacted him about the concern happened again...he said he would then didn't get back to us. Wish we could've kept them on...trying a new service on Angie's List!

Everything in this report is factual, however once I was notified about there being garbage in their toilet I had a sit down with my Team the next day and asked them what happened. The only thing they could think of was maybe when they were emptying the garbage in the bathroom some of it fell into the toilet and they did not see it. They would never intentionally put trash in the toilet. When this was brought to my attention by this customer I told them I would talk to the team and see what happened, and before I could follow-up with this member they discontinued service. I’m sorry you are no longer a customer; we had received great feedback in the past I only wish you allowed me the opportunity to respond to your message.

We love all our customers, not because they pay us to clean their home, but because they give us feedback and always communicate with us if there is ever an issue. You always hear it, “I loved my cleaning company, but after the first few cleanings things stated to not get cleaned”. This can happen even if you have the best cleaning company (Details), the key is to give feedback and keep the lines of communication open. While we think we do a great job for all of our customers, we need to be reminded sometimes, it really helps. Hopefully after we get feedback we can make the corrections, otherwise our customers will be looking for a new cleaning company. We have 17 fulltime Team members, and most of the Team has worked at Details for 3—5 years, you will never find that at another company. I started Details six years ago because I knew I could do it better, and by better I mean a company that understands what customer service is.
