We were Nordic for several years and very happy and then they were bought out by Waste Management. The service from Waste Management is awful. They canceled one pick up when we had about 1 inch of snow. Who cancels service in Northern Minnesota for an inch of snow? They did not attempt to contact us that they canceled and made no effort to reschedule pick up. When we try to call customer service we get someone in a corporate office that is not local and has no idea what is going on in Duluth. We called for extra pick up and they wanted to charge us an additional $48 and then they only picked up the garbage and not the recycling. So their service is terrible. We are going to Hartel's.

We got a week or two behind on the payment. The payday fell right before the end of the month and she said she would pay that bill and the coming month's bill on Friday. She called and told them and they verbally let her know that would be fine. The problem was that later that day they had someone out here picking our cans up without telling us so we thought they had been stolen. In the meantime she has been turned over a collection agency. They didn't contact her or anything. They did send her a note that said she was overdue, I understand that, but she made the effort to call and let them know that this Friday she would be paying what was due and the upcoming month. She didn't think there was aproblem when they verbally said it would be fine. She gets the call from the collection agency less than 3 days later. They didn't try to work with her, she had a good record with them up until that time and they didn't let her know they were turning her over to the collection agency. A week or two ago we recieved a paper bill for $35 from them, in the mean time I made other arrangements with another waste company. We didn't owe them and hadn't done business with them all month at that point. They said they were charging us for picking the cans up, even though they had a truck running that route the day they were picked up. She looked through the original agreement and there was nothing said about a can pick up fee. I also happen to share stock in the company and I hope this is not an issue company wide. There is no point in telling them because they won't do anything about it. I will never do business with them again. My initial thought is to give them an F, however they were punctual, didn't throw trash everywhere and 2 out of 3 times when they missed picking it up they sent someone out later that day. We did have to call for them to pick up recycling on occasion. They are expensive.
