Description of Work: Insulated new construction and was very satisfied with the work done and the help received from the crew on the scene. He is a busy contractor and I had to wait for his schedule to open up which was frustrating , but in the end I was very satisfied with the work and would hire this company again in a heartbeat!

Description of Work: Insulation install; re-built the attic floor-nice work; made a good insulated door in attic. The insulation work/install under the log room building was not adequate as it is still drafty, cold. One employee had cognitive issues and in kindness tried to let him work, but there were a couple issues. Owner is very cooperative & works hard.

Dave is very good at returning calls and communicating with his customers. His crews are smart, friendly and competent... I was told they would arrive on a certain day and they did, completing the job efficiently and cleaning up after themselves. Great company

Description of Work: Contacted provider, Dave Joyce, by phone. I explained the construction project I wanted done. He said he would charge $150.00 to come out (aprox 30 mi o/w) and evaluate/estimate my project but would deduct this fee if I hired him. He sounded nice and professional but I was not willing to pay the fee. 3 other contracters I had spoken with were offering free estimates. i did not hire this provider.

+ -1 moreHe found a problem with the way my bathroom vent was installed, and he solved that problem before continuing - very much appreciated! The job was done on time, on budget, and professionally handled. It was a mess afterwards, but that is the way it goes with dense-packed insulation. And there were a few nicks on the new sheetrocked walls because of the equipment, but again, not sure that can be avoided. I would hire him again, without reservation.
Description of Work: He cleaned out my old attic insulation, then pumped dense-packed insulation in the attic.

Dave was excellent about explaining what would be the best thing to do for my insulation, which I knew already from extensive research, but I was checking to make sure he knew what to do. He was excellent about explaining his estimate. They were arrived in a timely manner after I hired them, and completed on time. The workers were profession, completed the job to spec, and cleaned up after themselves. I had Dave give me estimates for a couple other jobs, but the prices were higher than competitors.
Description of Work: Carpentry Works sprayed some insulation in my basement. They put spray foam on the inside of the wall, and a couple inches of cellulose.

+ -1 moreVery professional. Once work started (had to wait awhile) it proceeded daily until finished. Changes in work order were easy to make. Workers were hardworking, easy to work with. Cleaned area completely after project. Hardest part was setting a work start date. I would definitely hire again.

He has a couple of ideas and he try to explain why this other way would work better and why. So, it wasn't like he wouldn't work with your ideas but he would give you more input on those to make different conclusion or add to your idea.

+ 2 moreWe had built a small house and he put this on without realizing that one side of our house was a little longer than the other and so, he came straight off of it. Therefore, it made the peak of our roof a little croaked from what the regular house roof was. When I tried to say something, he'd say professionals have to deal with the problems you make. We did have a little bit of problem with the estimate he gave us. We thought that it included more than what he ended up saying he did, so there was a little confusion and I ended up putting a stop payment on his check until we got it taken care of. However, they are a pretty good company and do good work. He is a pretty good guy has been in for quite a while now. We just ran into some problems because of not understanding the estimate he had.

+ -1 moreRight from the beginning, David Joice and his crew did an excellent job on all tasks. They were professional, efficient, experienced, and very easy to work with. They started and finished right on schedule. David pointed out several special situations and proposed good solutions, for example insulating the location for a shower enclosure on an exterior wall. He also coordinated well with the drywall contractor so that attic insulation was done at the right point in the drywall process. David also helped with some small-scale carpentry work on very short notice. I would not hesitate to call David Joice for any construction task.

They clean up after themselves at the end of each work day. They suggest ideas that only comes with years of experience. I liked the work so much that I now consider them my and quot;handy manand quot; for all projects needing professional help.

I would, however, tell everyone that they should contact David Joice at The Carpentry Works for their remodeling, insulating and building needs. You won't find a more knowledgeable contractor.
Description of Work: I have used The Carpentry Works LLC for several projects. I was given their name from a trusted friend. I first used them for the installation of siding, windows and a new roof. Dave Joice and his crew are such professionals that they were concerned if I had any questions or concerns along the way. They cleaned up the area at the end of each day and kept me informed throughout the process. I loved the outcome. I was so pleased with their work and professionalism that I have hired them for two other major projects. They did the total remodel of my kitchen three years ago and this year they gutted and remodeled my expansion bungalow. It was an unused, non-insulated space. Too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. I now have unbelievable storage areas, a guest bedroom, a half bath and a library area. They took my ideas and made them turn out better than I could have every imagined. I love having company over to stay in my guest room. Dave also designed my deck to replace the rotting cedar and replace it with composite material. Because I live on a very busy street, privacy was important to me. Using the composite material Dave was able to maintain privacy as well as give me the nicest looking deck in the neighborhood !!
