I called them and they were very willing to come right away and were on time. The guy worked on my sewer and said he couldn't get through because my drain was collapsed or the roots were too bad to get through and said it would need to be replaced. I asked around and found out about replacing my sewer. In the end, people told me that was probably not necessary. So, I called another company to clean my sewer. They came within the half hour and cleaned it out no problem and everything works fine. Obviously, I did not appreciate having to call another place and pay for the services again done with the same machine. Also, it was bad input and I spent a lot of time looking into a new sewer. The successful ones said they probably didn't get through due to laziness. So, I called them to make them aware of my situation and they said their manager would call me back. That has not happened yet. I paid someone to come over and do nothing. And they weren't very welcoming, came in and said whats the problem, not "hi". I'd still appreciate a call back.
Description of Work: I called them to clean out my sewer due to back up in my basement. It was thought to be roots from a friend as I have several large trees in my backyard.

I went to the basement that morning after showering and found standing water. Roto Rooter responded very quickly and was sympathetic to our urgent situation. H. Miller arrived on time, and was very pleasant and professional. He provided an honest opinion about the condition on the sewer line (broken pipe, pressure open, bottom gone) which turned out to be 100% accurate. The job was completed timely and no mess left behind.
Description of Work: Opened a clogged sewer line.

Nothing was fixed by them however it took a REAL plumber from Ben Franklin about 3 minutes to tell use we had a collapsed sewer line. We received a bill a month after the 'service' was 'completed' for twice what we were told we would be charged. When I attempted to call the phone number on the invoice the recording indicated the phone number was not in service. I had to look them up in the phone book and leave a message. When my call was returned two days later I was told since the employee had to come to our home TWICE we were charged for both trips. I told the secretary that was unacceptable and I would only be paying the $85. I sent the payment but two months later my bank contacted me to say the address I had been provided on the invoice was not valid and my payment had been returned to the bank as undeliverable. I do NOT recommend anyone use this company. They are NOT plumbers and apparently are extremely disorganized. If you have an actual plumbing emergency do yourself a favor and contact people that know what they're doing.
Description of Work: We called Roto Rooter because we had water flooding our basement from what appeared to be an overflowing toilet. The worker came out and snaked our toilet. He said that didn't seem to be the problem and wanted to snake the trap. He snaked the trap but told us he didn't think what he was snaking was actually the trap. He asked that we locate the trap while he left our home to attend to another customer. He came back two hours later and we told him that he had snaked the trap and wasn't sure what else he would be looking for. He confessed that he wasn't actually a plumber (we assumed Roto Rooter employees were plumbers but apparently NONE of the Duluth, MN workers are which would have been very good information to have prior to contacting them). He said that since he hadn't fixed the problem we would only be charged $85 for the trip.
